This Honda SS50ZK-2E model was first registered on 18th July 1977.  A family owned moped since the 80’s spending many years unused in the garage when it was then pasted down from father to son in 2001.  It was used for a further couple of years before being laid up in the garage again until 2014 where restoration of this rare pre-disc 1976 model was undertaken.  A no expense spared project with attention to detail in sourcing correct genuine parts and where this was not possible, refurbishment of the original parts, to bring this moped to show condition.  With a history file of invoices of parts sourced and work carried out by specialists this bike is a sight to behold.

This excellent example has formed part of a collection and has not been used on the road since completion it is now ready for the next lucky customer to enjoy.

Despite the low mileage of just 48,365 and the car being stored throughout each winter, the beautifully presented and chronological history folder is simply huge.  Virtually every MOT certificate, invoice, receipt and even a journey log have been kept.  Furthermore, there are articles, club membership literature, photographs and awards as well as three sets of keys including the grey master.  An unmissable opportunity to acquire one of the best, unmolested and original Montego’s in existence.

Kawasaki 750 Mach IV H2

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A ‘King of the Streets’ Kawasaki 750 Mach IV H2 in award winning condition.

MODEL HISTORY
The Kawasaki 750 Mach IV H2 was part of the iconic Kawasaki ‘Triple’ range produced from 1968 to 1980 with motorcycles ranging from 250-750cc, the more powerful 750 H2 model being nicknamed ‘widow makers’ owing to Kawasaki’s penchant for producing large engine bikes but still with skinny tyres, flimsy frames and inadequate brakes! Upon release they were the fastest production bikes in the world. Renowned as the ultimate full on Triple experience, the incredibly thirsty ‘King of the Streets’ 750 Mach IV H2 was eventually discontinued having succumbed to an impending oil crisis and strict incoming safety regulations, factors that would bring an end to a generation of raw and industry changing motorcycles.

EQUIPMENT
Tubular double cradle frame, telescopic front forks, twin rear shocks, chain oiler, friction and hydraulic steering dampers, chrome front mudguard, chrome side repeaters, side reflectors, speedometer, tachometer, capacitor discharge ignition (CDI), turn signal switch, headlight switch, engine stop switch, high beam light, horn, rear footrests, fuel valve, centre stand, side stand, rear grab bar, seat lock, compact toolkit, helmet holder, spark plug holder, neutral indicator, rear brake lining wear indicator.

EXTERIOR
Finished in Candy Purple, one of only two colour options available for the 750 Mach IV H2 model, this matching numbers US example has gained award winning status with its long term club owners, having entered into the UK in 1993. Correct US specification features include no rear mudguard, no seat strap and circular side reflectors. The pristine and correct Candy Purple paintwork catches the sunlight in an amazing almost psychedelic manner and is delightfully 70’s! Beautifully detailed in every respect but not to the detriment of originality, all components are in remarkable order and the chassis and engine numbers clearly visible for inspection. Likewise, the almost ornate asymmetrically arranged three branch exhaust system displays clear part number stampings. Lifting the seat reveals further delights such as the original spark plug holder, (with plugs), and complete toolkit in the plastic pouch. All manufacturer stickers and notices are clearly intact and an owner’s manual is in situ under the seat. The factory fitted seat, grips and rubbers can all be described as excellent. A truly exceptional example of the Kawasaki’s that took the 1970’s biking world by storm.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The three cylinder two-stroke air-cooled engine has a 748cc displacement and produces 71bhp at 6800rpm. A standing start ¼ mile of 12 seconds was quoted along with a claimed top speed of 126mph. Features such as the capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) remain exactly as the manufacturer intended. The 5-speed ‘all up’ constant mesh transmission with wet multiplate clutch operates perfectly. It is crucial to emphasise that this collector’s example is not just a show piece but has been maintained and importantly used as intended in dry conditions. A guaranteed smile on the riders face experiencing the ‘Triple Tingle’ amid an intoxicating soundtrack and cloud of blue smoke in their midst!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This exceptional example retains its beautiful original chrome wire wheels to uphold the classic look. In outstanding condition, the wheels are shod in premium quality Metzeler tyres of size 3.25-19 54H and 4.00-18 64H (front and rear) with masses of tread remaining.
The braking system has the very expensive twin 295mm front disc factory option incorporating a 5/8 master cylinder, (replaced but included), and different a banjo to feed the brake fluid to both discs. The 203mm rear drum has the working wear indicator.

HISTORY FILE
This final model 750 Mach IV H2C example was manufactured in 1975 and supplied to the US market. Imported to the UK in 1993, the bike has had just five UK keepers. Acquired by KGF Classic Cars from the Late Mr Ian Richards who had cherished this incredible bike from 1999 having previously owned three ‘widow makers’ in his younger years. An avid and well known club member, regular outings and two club rallies’ per annum have ensured this bike has been enjoyed as intended. The award winning credentials include ‘Best in Show’ at the Kawasaki Northern (National) Rally 1999 presented by ‘Triples’ Guru Rick Brett, and the 2000 VJMC ‘Most Outstanding H2’ presented by legendary former Kawasaki Work’s racer Mick Grant.

Ian Richards was the hugely knowledgeable and devoted long term owner of 18 years and had preserved this incredible bike to the highest level, even down to the fitting of an almost indistinguishable Z750 kick start in order to retain the slightly thinner cast H2 original, which were prone to snapping under repeated use. He even had the foresight and awareness to remove the bottom exhaust bolt, largely the cause of increased tension and resulting in the original pipes cracking. The following custodian, Mr Dean Marshall travelled the length and width of the country viewing so called ‘immaculate’ bikes before snapping this one up immediately knowing the pedigree. His decision to sell after three years of pleasuarrble ownership is the opportunity to buy another iconic and lifelong dream motorcycle, an RD500 Yamaha YPVS. Completing the history file is an Owner’s Manual and Owner’s and two production Kawasaki H1 and H2 sales brochures. This 750 Mach IV H2 is an absolute must for the avid collector where inspection and trial will not disappoint. A rare unmissable opportunity indeed!

EXTERIOR
This amazing example finished in factory Metallic Silver, (Code 549), is truly worthy of the ‘time warp’ accolade given.  The paint finish is fantastic with a bright pure shine, and hallmarks of a vehicle having covered just 11,504 miles from new are clear to see with preserved trim sections, decals and items such as the original supplying dealer number plates and ‘Ok Nissan!’ sticker remaining in place.  Minor scratches and imperfections are untreated in order to retain originality and there is a light rub to the front nearside bumper corner.  Hugely nostalgic and virtually impossible to find in this unspoiled state, this is one for the Datsun/Nissan fanatic!

INTERIOR
To climb inside the interior of this wonderfully kept example can be likened to visiting a Nissan showroom in 1989.  The exceptionally low mileage is clearly evident and the interior condition is simply perfect.  This range topping GSX example features an abundance of comfort functions, all fully operational, and the plush Grey Woven seats are as new.  Natural veins to the steering wheel and gear knob reflect the low mileage and even the new car smell has not escaped!  The boot floor still displays factory build stickers.  Technologically advanced when new but now a firm but alternative modern classic, you are definitely ready for the show scene with this lovely Nissan.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard wheels feature the original full wheel covers which are virtually unmarked, and all wheels including the spare remain shod in the factory Dunlop SP 7 155SR13 tyres.  Whilst the tyres are visually in excellent order, renewal prior to regular use may be a wise safety consideration on the grounds of age.  The spare wheel is unused and the tyre even has the stickers affixed to the tread.  Alongside the spare wheel is the complete Nissan tool pouch.  The braking system incorporates discs to the front and offers reliable straight line stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 1st February 1989 and supplied by AFG Nissan of Stoke, this amazing Sunny has covered just 11,504 miles from new with three owners.  Recommissioned by the second owner after a period of minimal use and dry storage, the car has been enjoyed with attendance at local shows and dry weather outings.  Representing a humble aspect of modern Nissan history, this useable and beautifully preserved 1980’s classic is certain to impress.

Offered by Porsche in 1984 as a factory option, the Supersport Edition option code M491, essentially provided the showcase looks of a 930 Turbo, but natural aspiration and more palatable running costs were attractive to some, along with the added rarity.  Whilst sharing most features with the turbo, including the wide body, rear aerodynamic ‘tea tray’ spoiler and Turbo brakes, some features of the Supersport including the G50 5-speed gearbox and stiffer suspension were deemed more desirable.  The M491 option was particularly popular in the US within the first two years of launch as the 930 Turbo was not available.  Just 75 cars were produced for the UK market, 35 of which were coupe bodied.

EQUIPMENT
Supersport equipment, front and rear aero-dynamic spoilers, flared wheel arches, halogen headlamps, headlamp washers, heavy duty windscreen cleaning system, recoil bumpers, integrated fog lamps, power locks, electric window lifters, power sunroof, oil level gauge, oil temperature, oil pressure, electrically adjustable sports seats, seat heaters, leather trimmed steering wheel, 3 point rear seat belts, cassette holder, velour carpet in luggage compartment.  Dealer accessories; Porsche dealer fitted Anti-Theft System.

EXTERIOR
This beautiful genuine Supersport edition is finished in stunning Porsche Nougat Brown Metallic (code F4FA).  The paintwork boasts a lustrous shine being nothing short of breath taking and encapsulates the true magic of the 911 perfectly.  All panels are straight and free from damage with only the tiniest of imperfections commensurate with a used but cherished example.  All trim sections including the trademark rear wing and aerodynamic front bumper are spotless.  The ultimate 1980’s object of desire.

INTERIOR
The splendid interior of this 911 Supersport is a delightful throwback to 1980’s supercar glamour.  The seats are finished in beautifully clean Linen and Mahogany Leatherette with Linen interior inlays.  Matching door cards and tailor-made carpet mats complete the look and the colour scheme dashboard and matching steering wheel resonate with 1980’s exuberance!  Only tiny age related veins to the seat leather is visible upon very close inspection.  The dashboard and associated switchgear is perfect with all functions and controls operating exactly as Porsche intended.  The front luggage compartment still displays the important original factory build sticker under the bonnet which matches that inside the service booklet, and the Porsche ground sheet remains unused along with all other tools.  The cockpit of a ground breaking automotive hero.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This air cooled rear mounted engine is the 3,164cc 154KW variant or technically known as the M930/20 Type.  Naturally aspirated, a top speed of 152mph and 0-62 time of 6.1 seconds is only marginally slower than the 3.3 930 Turbo.  The engine bay is beautifully clean, unmolested and displays factory stickers and markings clearly.  More desirable than the unit fitted to the Turbo, the Supersport has the Getrag (model G50) five speed gearbox which is light and direct.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Ultimate forged alloy 16inch Fuchs wheels with unique colour coded Nougat Brown centres  correct for the Supersport are taken from the 930 Turbo.  The wheels are in outstanding condition with only miniscule surface markings visible upon close scrutiny.   Quality matching Continental ContiSport Contact tyres 205/55 ZR16 front and 245/45 ZR16 rear have masses of tread remaining and were fitted new in 2015.  Powerful ventilated and perforated discs all round with four piston callipers are standard and taken from the 930 Turbo.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied originally by Parker & Parker Ltd, Official Porsche Centre in Cumbria, this genuine UK M491 Supersport was registered new on 17th February 1987.  A Certificate of Authenticity issued by Porsche Cars Great Britain Limited confirms the correct model, colour and specification, including the all-important Supersport Equipment package.  The original Porsche leatherette wallet contains all handbooks and guides as well as the service record displaying 21 entries, the first 14 stamps being the supplying dealer Parker & Parker.  Thereafter the entries are Porsche specialists with the most recent being 2015 at TWG Sport of Peterborough with less than 2,000 miles covered since.  An invoice dated August 2015 for £1,744.98 from The Porsche Centre Cambridge details maintenance work undertaken.

Completing the fantastic history record is a large file of MOT certificates and invoices as well as three sets of keys including the original master.  Altogether a beautifully presented, very special and exclusive model of this iconic motoring legend.
