MODEL HISTORY

Designed in conjunction with Ford Racing Engineers and M-Sport in Cumbria, the RS badge synonymous with the most desirable, high performance Ford vehicles was first introduced to the already accomplished Focus. Equipped with 521 unique WRC inspired components only 4,501 examples were built with 2,147 sold to the UK market. (Source: The Essential Buyers Guide by Dan Williamson)

EQUIPMENT
Computer optimised unitary welded steel body, rigid occupant safety cell, energy absorbing crumple zones, wider front and rear pressed steel wings, auxiliary air intakes, aerodynamic splitter and rear wing, mounted side sills, modified lower rear apron, driver and front passenger airbags, air conditioning, leather sports steering wheel with blue inserts, carbon fibre centre console with start button, limited edition number plaque, Sparco aluminium handbrake, gear knob and pedals, boost gauge and ‘change up light’, bright metal tread plates with RS script, stereo radio/6CD model 6006E, Thatcham CAT 1 alarm. EXTERIOR
Build number 0571 is an early example, finished in stunning Imperial Blue Metallic, (Code Q2), the only available colour. The paintwork boasts a deep polished shine and uniform finish and all factory panels are pin straight. The bumpers, side skirts and trim sections are in superb condition. The only noteworthy imperfections are a tiny ding to the nearside B-pillar trim and some stone chips to the frontal area. The Ford and special RS badges and Ford main dealer number plates remain fitted as do the original clear film gravel rash guards to the lower rear quarters. This superb example is a credit to this fast Ford icon and presents as a clean, useable example.

INTERIOR
Inside this white-hot Ford are a pair of body-hugging Sparco road-race seats swathed in luxurious Racing Black and Blue Leather and Black Alcantara, (Code AR). The RS and Sparco logos are embossed and stitched into the upholstery, coupled with this are the aluminium fittings, push button start and numbered plaque. The non-double-stitched front seats are correct for an earlier car and the interior is very clean with only very light wear to the driver’s outer bolster and some tiny marks to the dash. The steering wheel blue leather, a known weak point has never been retrimmed and is bright and unworn. The near impossible to source RS front carpet mats remain with the car but stored in the boot to preserve with a second set of Focus mats for usage. The number 0571 plaque is present and the green starter button without ‘engine start’ lettering is correct for the earliest cars. Ford built this car to truly delight its motorsport loving RS devoted fan base and the long-awaited car did not disappoint.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the thumping Ford 2.0 Duratec RS four-cylinder 16v unit the power output achieved is 212bhp at 5500rpm and 310Nm torque at 3500rpm. The maximum speed is 144mph while 0-60 is dispatched in just 6.4 seconds! The engine bay is clean with factory plates, stickers and labels visible. Correct for an earlier build car is the black throttle cable ‘trumpet’ grommet with blue collar. The sturdy Ford MTX-75 gearbox offers the ultimate rally road car experience.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The unique 8 x 18in Oz Racing refurbished rims are unmarked with perfect RS centre caps. Michelin Pilot Sport 225/40 ZR18 tyres are fitted all-round with excellent tread. In lew of the spare wheel is the factory supplied compressor and unopened tyre sealant. Pristine Brembo 4-pot callipers are visible through the large spoke apertures and 324mm ventilated front and 280mm rear discs provide immense stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Factory build records confirm that number 0571 rolled of the production line on the 27th November 2002 ready to be dispatched the supplying Main Dealer, CD Brammall Ford in Milton Keynes. Date of first registration was the 23rd January 2003 and the car has now covered just 25,007 miles from new with only three owners. Huge demand meant long waiting lists, even pre-launch, and so eager customers were prepared to pay well over odds to acquire one of these limited production cars. The previous owner purchased 0571 in 2016 for a record price at the time having always regretted selling the example he purchased brand new in 2003 following the first successful spell at his fledgling business. A true blue-oval enthusiast, the car formed part of his collection alongside a Mk2 Escort RS2000 and Mk1 Cortina.

The comprehensive history file contains all original handbooks, guides and special RS supplement which are contained within the Ford leather RS wallet. There are 15 recorded services evidenced in the stamped service book and accompanying invoices in the huge history file. All servicing has been carried out by Ford Main Dealers or specialists and the most recent service was in September 2023 at 24,925 miles. Three keys are present along with both RS alarm fobs and a RS cherished registration number has remained on since new.

Pure blue-oval brilliance and firmly a modern classic.

Freight Rover Sherpa 200 Series

SORRY NOW SOLD

A rare Freight Rover Sherpa 200 Series with two owners and only 19,613 miles.

PART EXCHANGE TO CLEAR – A VERY CLEAN USEABLE EXAMPLE.

EQUIPMENT
Factory built passenger carrying vehicle, hinged cab and rear doors, left sliding side access door, two sliding passenger compartment windows, rear and side rear passenger door steps, two door mirrors, 5kph impact resistant RIM bumpers, wheel trims, mud flaps, front sun visors, front parcel shelves, speedometer, distance and trip recorder, fuel gauge, water temperature gauge, two-speed wipers with flick-wipe, two speed heater/demister unit, four interior lights, front and rear ashtrays, digital clock, cigar lighter.

EXTERIOR
This iconic Freight Rover Sherpa 200 Series was a factory-built minibus with a genuine 19,613 miles from new! The single colour gloss paint finish in Lipari Blue, (Code JPE), still has a great shine in many areas and all panels are factory original. Most examples began to rust and had acquired a plethora of bodywork damage within their first few years, yet this example boasts very straight panels with no rust and the underside is mind-blowingly excellent with zero corrosion and has never been welded, almost unheard of for a Sherpa! There has been remedial paintwork mainly to the offside rear quarter to a less than perfect standard and there are various aged related markings and touch-ups throughout. All trim, bumpers, door handles, glass and lights are fully intact and the supplying dealer front number plate and front screen sticker remain. A remarkable survivor in rust-free condition yet with some visible cosmetic imperfections.

INTERIOR
A blank canvas! The interior seats have been removed along with some interior trim to the rear as the previous owner used the vehicle as a day van to attend shows and overnight weekend events. The front seats have been replaced with luxurious motorhome captain swivel seats which are very comfortable and in excellent condition. The original two cab seats come with the vehicle. The fascia is in good condition and all gauges, switches and controls operate. The passenger door card has some small holes. The rear passenger area has been boarded out to the floor and rear wheel arches with insulation/sound deadening to the underside in preparation for the next project!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Factory fitted with the proven 2 litre O-Series engine, this robust 4-cylinder OHC unit was the most powerful engine available in the 200 Series range and develops whooping 84bhp! The engine pulls strongly and cleanly in all gears with a characterful rasp to the exhaust reminding you of when these vehicles bombed around everywhere! The beautifully clean engine bay is untouched even down many original Freight Rover stickers and the inner wings, bulkhead and slam panel are remarkably well preserved thanks to the low mileage covered.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The steel wheels wear matching and ultra-rare Freight Rover hub caps, three which are in superb order with one having some light damage to the edge. The 185 R14C tyres have plenty of tread and the original spare wheel and tyre remains in the underhung cradle. Divided hydraulic servo-assisted brakes with front discs and rear drums are standard fitment and all are in fine working order.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 5th September 1986, this example was originally a 13-seater Minibus from the factory and was supplied by Austin Rover/Land Rover Main Dealer, Dutton Forshaw of Kettering. The first registered keeper was Argyll Club & Institute Ltd, a social club in the town which remains in existence today. There has been just one further private keeper since. Deciding to convert this nostalgic Sherpa to a day van for fun weekends away and motoring rallies it has served its purpose well, albeit not extensively. A folder of invoices and previous MOT certificates confirms servicing and maintenance work carried out in recent years to include the timing belt at 8,794 miles as well as an advisory free MOT carried out in August 2023. Two sets of keys are supplied. Several large boxes of spares and trim are also included in the sale.

Not meeting the usual KGF Classic Cars stock profile in terms of condition one credentials, but not detracting from the rarely seen overall preserved condition, we are offering this example for sale on a part exchange to clear basis. The vehicle looks superb and performs as such and represents huge nostalgic fun. Ready for immediate enjoyment or a fun project as a conversion to the next owners choice….. Full inspection and test drive is most welcome.

Massey Ferguson MF165

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A fully restored and fully functioning Massey Ferguson MF165 in wonderful condition.

MODEL HISTORY
Founded in 1847 in Ontario, Canada by Daniel Massey, it was not until 1953 that the then named Massey-Harris merged with The Ferguson Company, founded by Harry Ferguson to become Massey-Harris Ferguson. The name was simplified in 1958 to Massey Ferguson to which it remains known today. Widely regarded to have revolutionised agriculture in the western world in the 20th century, it was the collaboration with and subsequent buy-out of Frank Perkins Ltd that later produced the Massey Ferguson 100 Series. The Massey Ferguson 165 (MF165) is a row-crop tractor that was built in Massey Ferguson’s Detroit, Michigan plant in the USA from 1964 and was discontinued in 1975. It was the most popular tractor in the market during its time.

EQUIPMENT
4×2 two-wheel-drive chassis, open operator station, 70-litre fuel capacity, 30.3 litre hydraulic system capacity, 17 litres per minute pump flow, 3-point linkage with chain stabilisers, foot and hand throttle, non-slip tread plates, quick-detach radiator grille, full lighting set, 6-speed high and low range transmission, high and low range MPH reader, hours counter, fuel gauge, oil pressure gauge, water temperature gauge, ammeter, horn, headlamps, tip seat with seat padding, lunchbox holder X2, electric start, pull stop switch.

EXTERIOR
This wonderful 1971 Model MF165 is finished in the factory colour of Massey Ferguson Red to the body panels and Massey Ferguson Grey to the engine, chassis and ancillaries. A full restoration was undertaken ten years ago with the Tractor dry stored since helping to keep the superb aesthetics! The red paintwork is bright and uniform as is the grey and all body panels are fully intact with no notable damage. All lights are fully functional and the Massey Ferguson decals and front grille emblem look superb. The round 165 front fender badges are slightly pitted to the chromed edges. A delightful example of this much revered and iconic vintage Tractor.

OPERATOR STATION & FUNCTIONALITY
Simplistic and functional, the open operator station is super clean and features a padded tip seat and three spoke steering wheel. Exposed mechanical components and floor sections are bright and clean. All gauges and controls operate perfectly including the high and low range MPH readings and hand throttle. The hydraulic system and MF quadrant are all fully operational and the tractor jumps into life at the first twist of the key! The factory Massey-Ferguson of Coventry, England patent plate is still mounted on the control panel. A clean, unspoilt operator station with daily farm duties a distant memory and now replaced with parade and show duties!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Needing little introduction is the world-famous Perkins diesel engine from Frank Perkins Ltd of Peterborough, just a stone’s throw away from KGF Classic Cars headquarters. The 3474cc direct injection diesel four-cylinder A4. 212 unit fitted to this model produces 62hp at 2200rpm and 229lb ft of torque at 1350rpm. The easily accessible engine is clean and displays factory castings and Perkins Engines plate with engine code A4. 212. Close attention to detail sees the upright exhaust painted in correct white. The 6 forward and 2 reverse gears in high/low range operate perfectly. An instantly recognisable drum from the Perkins unit sounds characteristically bulletproof and is simply delightful.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The cast steel wheels are painted to match the Massey Ferguson Grey and feature brand new wheel studs. The 7.50-16 front and 14.9-28 rear tyres have plenty of life left and are premium brand Goodyear all round. The outboard drum brakes operate to the large rear wheels only and via a dual brake pedal which can operate independently or locked together.

HISTORY FILE
A 1971 built example, this delightful Massey Ferguson MF165 was fully restored around 10 years ago both mechanically and cosmetically. Close attention to detail is evident and this tractor has remained in excellent condition and in prime working order. The previous owner kept this MF165 in his eclectic collection of vintage tractors and classic cars which included a Massey Ferguson 20B and even a BMW 645Ci previously owned by Richard Wilson OBE, otherwise known as Victor Meldrew!

The tractor is UK registered, road legal and eligible for tax and MOT exemption. The hours counter reads 12 to indicate the usage since restoration. This tractor can even be driven on a standard driving licence! Guaranteed to delight the nostalgic agricultural worker, or simply the classic car enthusiast appreciative of all things drivable! Such is the condition of this tractor it was used by Blur’s Alex James at a pop-up farm in Canary Wharf, London, to launch Farm Heroes Saga – a new game from the makers of Candy Crush Saga!
