EXTERIOR
This Austin Mini-Cooper is pert and smart finished in its original Almond Green with the roof in Old English White and has an impressive glossy finish. All the chrome detailing has a mirror finish and is immaculate. Tiny paint flaws can be seen on close scrutiny and the glass, rubbers and lenses are unmarked. Tasteful period accessories such as headlamp protectors and brown leather bonnet straps add a subtle sporting look. The engine bay is a delight and has been detailed. A splendid show piece.

INTERIOR
Glorious having been retrimmed in the Porcelain Green and Dove Grey which complements the exterior wonderfully. Washable vinyl-coated fabric seats match the door cards and the patterned headlining is tight and clean. The fitted carpets are spotless but the floor mounted ashtray has been removed leaving neat cuts. The two spoke steering wheel with the Morris badge is in excellent order. The large instrument nacelle housing all the warning lights and gauges function perfectly as does the flashing indicator stalk and period revolution gauge. The boot area is clean displaying the optional second fuel tank disconnected for practically. Simply divine.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A water cooled in-line overhead-valve four-cylinder matching numbers engine mounted transversely has a cubic capacity of 1275cc and produces 75bhp. The twin S.U carburettors with a combined air cleaner give a purposeful induction note and the four-speed gearbox allows spirited progress. The engine bay has been detailed for bonnet-up showing and creating a ‘wow’ factor.

WHEELS, TYRES, BRAKES & SUSPENSION
Pressed 4.5 inch Cooper ‘S’ steel wheels are finished in Old English White and show small blemishes with chrome embellishers. 7.5 inch front discs and rear drums are supplemented by a diaphragm servo as per the ‘S’ specification. Hydrolastic fluid suspension gives an already dynamic Mini superb handling qualities even better road adhesion. Pure fun!

HISTORY FILE
Supplied by Anstey’s Ltd in Maidstone, this wonderful example was built in August 1964 and registered on the 18th September in the same year. The certified copy of a factory record provided by the Heritage Trust confirms this example to be a matching numbers genuine Cooper. On instruction from the first owner who was not prepared to wait for a factory Cooper ‘S’ delivery changes were made to this example to replicate the ‘S’ specification. Enthusiast owned by all five former keepers the previous owner, Mr Richard Hoar went to the trouble of dating the modifications and has enjoyed many shows and events.

EXTERIOR
This stunning unmolested MK1 Golf GTi is finished in classic Diamond Silver Metallic, (Code L97A).  The paint finish is simply impeccable with a beautiful detailed shine and uniform presentation.  All factory panels are pin straight displaying linear and even shut lines.  Faint and very minimal touched in chips to the leading bonnet edge do not offend.  The rubbers side mouldings, lights and all other body trimmings are perfect and scuff free and the original green tinted glass is security etched.  The identification sticker on the boot cross member is present and has the vital ‘Campaign’ option codes of 707 and 750 matching the vehicle data sticker in the service book.  Campaign specification trim and decals are exactly correct and remain in remarkable order, including the special edition specific fuel filler cap with spring loaded cover.  An incredibly well preserved and cherished example, very special.

INTERIOR
Body-hugging reclining sports seats trimmed in original black/white check design (code KM) remain in remarkable condition with no wear to the fabric or deterioration to the seat structure.  The matching black headlining is clean and intact.   The carpeting, door cards and all other interior trim sections are pristine, clean and unworn.  The correct smaller door lock pins with indent to the top and the leather bound steering wheel are Campaign specific and further uphold this cars true correct identity.  All the controls housed in the pristine fascia work as they should including the multi-function digital computer.  A spotless boot area houses the full size alloy spare, original jack and wheel brace and an unmolested rear parcel shelf, although one of the rubber hangers has snapped.  A classic retro hot hatch interior, wonderfully preserved.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This iconic car is in tremendous mechanical order and really boasts what Mk1 GTi ownership should be about – marvellous fun!  The engine produces 112bhp at 5800rpm and 109lbs.ft of torque at 3500rpm, enough to sprint to 60mph in 8.2 seconds and achieve 114mph.  Renowned for sheer driving pleasure, this Mk1 Campaign GTi does not disappoint.  The detailed engine bay is spotlessly clean with original factory stickers and the identity plates display the correct chassis numbers for a Campaign model.  The 5 speed sports gearbox is precise and is a joy to use.  It is easy to understand how this car started the hot hatch phenomenon.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This superb Golf GTi is fitted with the unique, Campaign only, and highly desirable 6J x 14 Pirelli alloy sports wheels with correct larger ‘P’ cut out sections and smaller 7mm gaps.  All wheels remain in pristine condition and are shod in correct Pirelli P6000 185/60 R14 tyres.  The servo-assisted diagonally divided dual-circuit braking system with discs in front and drums at rear require firmer action than a modern equivalent but operate exactly as they should.

HISTORY FILE
A simply incredible history file.  Registered with a correct ‘A’ prefix for Campaign models on 10th November 1983 by Volkswagen Main Dealer Colindale Service Station of London, this enthusiast owned example has had just four former keepers, all of whom have upheld the service record impeccably.  Two original service record booklets, the first having run out of space display many stamped entries, majority being VW Main Dealer and remaining specialist.  Documented cambelt changes, the last being in 2013 at 127,771 miles and again carried out a VW Main Dealers will give the next owner much reassurance and help to illustrate how the fastidious serving has never been compromised.  The last VW service was in November 2014 and a service reminder sticker is neatly placed on the door shut dated November 2015.  Furthermore, a colossal and immaculately presented history file includes masses of receipts, services invoices and every single MOT certificate from the cars third birthday to fully document the 135,966 miles covered.

The previous keeper having purchased the car in 1999 is a lifelong VW enthusiast who remarkable kept a hugely detailed and disciplined log of every journey he made including date, mileage, fuel costs and journey comments!  No less than 33 pages and 462 entries are stated!  His utter love and devotion for the car is clear to see in its condition which represents a vehicle having done a fraction of the mileage.

The original VW Dealer blue document holder is also with the car and contains all the owner’s manuals and instruction pamphlets.  A sheer collectors dream in every sense.

EXTERIOR
This exhilarating genuine Mini Cooper looks every part the competition machine whilst retaining all the charm and period feel of the classic Mini.  Finished in the original factory colour of British Racing Green (code HNA) with original Old English White on the roof, the presentation is excellent with a deep polished shine.  Structurally perfect with absolutely no corrosion to the panels, this incredible example has been prepared to an impeccable standard.  The lightweight bonnet and fibreglass boot skin provide a hint towards the epic credentials of this purpose built competitor, and the championship and branded decals relate to the events competed in and the equipment fitted.  The rear bumper is slightly misshapen and displays a small ding to the corner edge, born possibly from some overzealous competitiveness! The RCA arch spats along with quick release panels and many other competition components further cement the incredible devotion towards the build and the resulting awesome achievement.  A true successful contender.

INTERIOR
Upon entering the cockpit of this marvellous Mini, you are instantly exposed to the dedicated mind-set towards the creation of a successful machine.  The snug and ultra-supportive OMP race seat and Willans harness secure the driver tightly and safely.  Once positioned in the race seat, the driver is surrounded by the full FIA approved 6 point roll cage, (bolted through welded strengthening floor plates), fire extinguisher and a plethora of competition dials and controls offering an insight to the incredible driving experience in store.  All purposeful equipment and controls have been neatly installed to a professional standard including the Omex shift indicator and rev limiter next to the oil pressure lamp designed illuminate if the pressure drops below 30psi.  A perfect balance of competition equipment with original design has been met with the factory fitted passenger seat and rear bench remaining in place.  The original dashboard, lightweight carpet set, door cards and headlining are all in excellent order.  Utterly exhilarating.

ENGINE, TRANSMISSION & SUSPENSION
A no expense spared mechanical build in order to prepare fully for competition sprints and hill climbs is simply mind blowing!  The Stage 3 1380cc bored and fully balanced unit, (an invoice for this costing thousands alone) produces 146bhp at the flywheel and has an 11.5/1 compression ratio. A full straight cut 4-speed gearbox with straight cut drop gears and an ultra-light fly wheel and paddle clutch means the performance is nothing short of epic!  To cope with the power a 4-pin differential and Salisbury LSD with a 3.9/1 ratio has been installed.  GAZ SPAX adjustable shocks offer a tailor made handling package to further enhance this cars awesome characteristics and capabilities.  Beautifully assembled and with successful competing credentials, this brilliant Mini Cooper is sensational.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Genuine 10in Minilite alloy wheels are in pristine order and shod in quality soft compound Yokohama Advan 165/70 R10 tyres with masses of tread remaining.  A perfect combination of unrivalled levels of grip whilst still allowing the element of fun when really pushed.  A complete Cooper’S’ braking system with Goodridge braided lines completes the package and offers sharp and assured stopping power to match the performance.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 5th April 1991 by Rover Main Dealers Mungo Graham of Workington, the history file for this Mini Cooper is phenomenal, both for the vehicles early years as a standard car as well as a fully documented build for the car as you see it today.  The A5 plastic wallet houses the original service books displaying stamped entries as well as all handbooks and point of sale documentation.  The mileage displayed of 53,885 can be traced through MOT certificates present from the cars third birthday.

In 2002 the vehicle was purchased by Leslie and Steve English, known very well as successful contenders in the sprint and hill climb competition series as ‘The English Brothers’.  Work began at this time on the Mini to build the ultimate machine for competing in various events with the majority of the work carried out whilst competing throughout 2004-2007.  A separate history file contains many print outs of sprint and hill climb events competed in by The English Brothers including the successes achieved in the car.  In 2011 the car was purchased by renowned Patrick Mortimer, a champion in the Mini Cooper Challenge Series as a present for his wife who was a huge fan of the original Mini.  She now races in the Modern Mini Cooper Challenge.

The colossal history file contains countless receipts and invoices throughout the build since 2002 to date.  Illustrating the exhaustive list of components which serve as to highlight the thousands of pounds spent on this amazing creation and the impeccable standard to the work carried out.  Every inch a professional and formidable competitor with the added benefit of being road legal.

This simply impeccable example is finished in stunning original Radiant Red (code P9).  The original factory finish truly lives up to its ‘Radiant’ name with a deep glossy and vibrant shine, commensurate with the cars astonishingly low miles and pampered keeping.  Needless to say the factory panels are pin straight with uniform gaps and all trim sections and RS decals are as new.  Receipts in the history file reveal a programme of underside detailing in 2003 costing in excess of £6,000 which remains to the day absolutely spotless due to fastidious Carcoon storage.  The previous owner replaced the desiccant every couple of months to prevent moisture.  Guaranteed to set the pulse racing among aficionados, this RS Turbo retains all the manufacturers’ originality and unmolested appeal.  A pristinely detailed and completely standard engine compartment displays all the factory stickers and a correct Motorcraft battery and headlamp protectors are still fitted revealing the care this remarkable example has enjoyed.  Near impossible to find such a special RS Turbo, this example is a worthy show piece for the perfectionist.

INTERIOR
This original Escort RS Turbo has a perfect and stylish interior which remains exactly how the manufacturer intended.  The fully adjustable supportive Recaro seats show no wear to the Zolda fabric (Code LW) with the ever popular Shadow grey, red and blue pattern.  Matching door cards are pristine with only minor markings to the driver’s door pull, a common occurrence on these cars.  The pristine carpets have been beautifully preserved and have retained complete fullness to the pile.  All switches, knobs and dials function correctly and the fully operational Ford Self-Seek stereo radio/cassette with separate power amplifier remains fitted with original speakers.  The boot area is spotless with original build stickers and markings intact.  A truly magnificent example of this legendary fast Ford.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1.6 OHC (CVH) fuel injected engine with a Garrett AiResearch T3 turbo charger and intercooler is completely factory standard making this vehicle a rare example that is now the exception.  Producing 132bhp in such a lightweight car, the 0-60 dash is dealt with in 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 128mph is achieved.  A factory original exhaust system is fitted.  Having only covered a mere 22,703 miles, the 5-speed manual Ford BC box with standard 220mm clutch is light, precise and a joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The correct light alloy 6X15 RS wheels remain undamaged and pristine with the Ford logo and part numbers raised and visible.  Five matching quality 195/50 R15 Goodyear Eagle tyres have masses of tread remaining with the spare item unused and factory original.  This 1980’s ‘Hot Hatch’ icon stops as well as it goes with the ABS braking system designed in conjunction with Lucus Girling working perfectly.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 17th August 1989 by Ford Main Dealer Charles King Motors Ltd of Bedford, this tremendous example has benefitted from fastidious enthusiast ownership since new enabling it to remain preserved in fantastic show condition.  Professional specialist invoices in the huge history file illustrate an immense program of underside and engine bay detailing commissioned by previous keeper Ms Claire Stephens throughout 2003 totalling an astonishing £6,138.96!  Countless large photographs beautifully presented in the folder document the work carried out.

The Ford plastic wallet contains the original stamped service book along with every handbook, radio guide and dealership literature from point of sale.  The service book displays a number of stamped entries even for a vehicle of such minimal use, including the most recent entry in April 2014 at 22,644 miles using genuine parts from Fordparts UK.  Also at this time the timing belt, tensioner and water pump were replaced to offer reassurance. Furthermore, the history file contains MOT certificates to fully support the incredible low mileage along with many invoices and receipts.  Two sets of keys including the original working torch key are present!

This vehicle is certain to appeal to a collector of modern classics wanting one of the best, most original lowest mileage examples in existence.  The ultimate Ford fans desire.

A rare surviving Ford Mondeo Mk1 2.0 GLX with full history and 46,820 miles.

EXTERIOR
Launched in Europe in 1992 by The Ford Motor Company, the first generation Mondeo replaced the much loved and hugely popular Sierra.  With early models now well over twenty years old, the Mk1 Mondeo once a very common sight on UK roads has now become a rare car.  This 2.0i 16v GLX example has been incredibly well preserved owing to a mere 46,820 miles covered.  Finished in factory original Stardust Silver (code 6 3) the paintwork boasts a bright pure shine and polished finish.  All factory panels are completely free from corrosion and the underside is beautifully clean.  Minor markings commensurate with age do not offend, but worthy of mention is a small chip above the nearside rear door handle, minimal light scratches from boot loading and a very faint scuff to the lower front bumper, visible upon very close inspection only.  A very faint undulation to the offside rear door is barely noticeable.  All trim sections and original badges are present and intact and the supplying Ford dealer plates and rear screen sticker remain fitted.  A delightful modern classic Ford in exceptional condition.

INTERIOR
The interior of this immensely cossetted example is simply perfect.  The original Papillon Opal upholstery (code HC) is spotless with no wear or damage to the fabric whatsoever.  The cut pile carpets are pristine having been protected by floor mats from new and the headlining is perfect.  The driver inclined fascia and incorporated switchgear is as new and all functions operate seamlessly including the original Keycode RDS stereo cassette (model 2006).  Even sections of the factory protective cellophane wrapping to the inner door steps remain intact!  An enormously comfortable interior and even inch representative of a 1990’s showroom example, truly exceptional.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Factory fitted with the 2.0i DOHC 16v four cylinder unit, the power output of 136bhp and 180Nm torque allows a top speed of 129mph and 0-60 in 9.2 seconds.  Maintained to an exceptional standard and having covered such low miles, the whisper quiet and smooth engine offers flawless performance.  The clean engine bay features a correct Ford battery and all factory stickers, tags and plates remain exactly as the manufacturer intended.  The five speed gearbox is light, precise and effortless to offer an upmost relaxed manner.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 5.5 x 14in steel wheels have the factory correct GLX wheel trims fitted.  A small chip to the nearside rear trim interrupts an otherwise pristine set and four new 185/60 R14 tyres have just been fitted.  Diagonally split dual line brakes with servo and anti-lock assistance bring the car up straight and steady.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 11th April 1996 by Ford Main Dealer Chiltern Garage of Sudbury, the first keeper was a Mr Derek Johnson.  A vehicle order record in the history file confirms the new vehicle order and part exchange of his 1986 Ford Granada.  The Ford plastic wallet contains the original stamped service book along with every handbook, radio guide and dealership literature from point of sale.  The fully stamped service record displays fourteen entries from the supplying dealer up to 2005 and the same independent specialist thereafter with the most recent entry at 46,653 miles in February 2015.  This service included a cam-belt change also.  Recently sold by KGF Classic Cars to only the second owner from new who, being the typical car enthusiast type, part exchanged it for our Volvo 460GLE!

Three keys including the original red master key and plastic keycode tags as well as a dealership sales brochure complete the package.

A charming unrestored Ford Escort Mk2 1100L with just 11,964 miles from new.

This fabulously original Mk2 1100L exhibits masses of modest charm from a far simpler bygone motoring era.  Finished in Ford Cordoba Beige, (Code P0), the original paintwork is simply remarkable with a bright polished shine and uniform finish.  All panels are straight and display uniform gaps.  There is absolutely no corrosion to the body and the underside is structurally perfect with evidence of factory underseal, commensurate with an 11,964 mile garaged example.  Only very minor touched in markings can be seen upon close scrutiny helping to confirm the unrestored nature of this honest example.  All bright trim sections and badging is fully intact and remains in exceptional order aside from a tiny light ding to the front bumper.  The dealership reflective number plates and supplying Ford dealer rear screen sticker have been preserved with the car and further cement the cars wonderful originality.  A truly cossetted example of this once unassuming family Ford, delightfully nostalgic and just as the manufacturer intended.

INTERIOR
The interior of this charming 1100L is utterly exceptional in every respect.  The original Chocolate/White Houndstooth upholstery, (Code P1), is spotless and has been preserved impeccably with no wear to the coverings.  The matching loop pile carpeting and vinyl door cards are equally pristine and the headlining is perfect.  The fully intact dashboard displays no cracks whatsoever and houses fully functional switchgear, controls and gauges.  Even the factory tags on the seatbelts, often lost, remain intact!  The soft feel steering wheel feels as new with the veins still prominent.  The smell of the interior takes you back to the 1980’s and awakens long forgotten memories!  Often used too liberally, the term ‘time warp’ is unquestionably justified and the incredibly low mileage is thoroughly reflective in the interior presentation.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Refreshingly simple, this model is fitted with the 1100 Standard engine displacing 1098cc, a power output of 51bhp at 6000rpm allows a top speed of 83mph and 0-60 in 18.5 seconds.  This perhaps pedestrian performance is instantly forgotten once behind the wheel where the nostalgic driving experience and fantastic driving manner are a real delight.  The four speed all synchromesh gearbox is light, exact and effortless.  Impeccably maintained and wonderfully simplistic, this example is mechanically superb.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Standard 13” silver painted sports wheels as fitted to the ‘L’ are in remarkable pristine order.  Five 155/80 R13 tyres have masses of tread remaining and the spare is factory standard.  Hydraulic dual line brakes incorporating front discs and rear drums bring the car up in a straight line to offer excellent stopping power.

Registered new on 18th January 1980 by Ford Main Dealer Godfrey Davis (London) Ltd, this stunning Escort has had just two former keepers from new.  An original new car sales invoice made out to first owner Mr J Mellor reveals an on the road purchase price of £3,348.98 including £15 for the optional extra passenger door mirror!  Upon his passing in 1989 ownership went to his wife Isabel Mellor who cherished the car until 2014, whereupon it was inherited by her nephew.  The amazing history file includes a first service invoice at the supplying dealership when the car had covered just 259 miles.  Furthermore, a huge collection of service invoices date back to the 1980’s with the most recent full service invoice dated June 2014 with less than 25 miles covered since!  Incredibly the same garage maintained the car for many years with nineteen invoices from them from 1988 to 2008!  This complete service history along with many supporting MOT certificates firmly validate the astonishingly low mileage of just 11,964 miles.  The original Godfrey Davis A5 plastic wallet containing the handbooks and operating guides completes the history file along with two sets of keys.

INTERIOR
This sensational Escort RS Turbo has a perfect and stylish interior which will delight the nostalgic seeking buyer.  The fully adjustable and supportive Recaro seats show virtually no wear to the Daytona Raven trim.  Matching door cards are pristine with only tiny creases to the ‘A’ pillar trim, a common occurrence on these cars.  The immaculate carpets are protected with genuine Ford rubber mats and have been beautifully preserved with complete fullness to the pile.  All switches, knobs and dials function correctly with the original Ford stereo in situ.  A prized, expensive and very collectable RS steering wheel is fitted and an alarm immobiliser was installed in 1997 to an otherwise factory standard interior.  A truly magnificent example of this legendary fast Ford.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1.6 OHC (CVH) Bosch KE-Jetronic fuel injected engine with a Garrett AiResearch T3 turbo charger produces 140bhp, (8bhp increase over a standard car) thanks to a stainless steel standard looking Magnex exhaust system and in such a lightweight car, the 0-60 dash is dealt with in 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 128mph is achieved.  A beautifully clean engine compartment displays all the factory stickers and plates, and a Motorcraft battery is fitted.  The 5-speed manual Ford BC box with standard 220mm clutch is light, precise and a joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The correct light alloy 6X15 RS wheels remain undamaged with the Ford logo and part numbers raised and visible.  Five matching quality 195/50 R15 Toyo Proxes tyres have masses of tread remaining.  This 1980’s ‘Hot Hatch’ icon stops as well as it goes with the ABS braking system designed in conjunction with Lucus Girling working perfectly.

HISTORY FILE

All switches, knobs and dials function correctly and the fascia is pristine. Hondas focused and near obsessive desire to save weight has resulted in the removal of sound insulation in some areas and even the transmission dampening. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Honda’s innovative Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System (VTEC) unit optimises torque at low rpm and horsepower at high rpm. Incredibly the precision tuned naturally aspirated 1797cc engine produces 190bhp and 178Nm torque with the VTEC switchover point and resulting power peaks occurring at 8000 and 7300rpm respectively. Hondas uncompromising approach even extends to the inlet and exhaust manifold ports, hand polished to achieve a smoother, faster gas flow. INTERIOR
The figure hugging buckets seats to the front hold the occupants tightly and safely and are pristine, as is the matching rear bench.  The matching black door cards are dressed with alloy fitments to compliment the cars styling immensely.  Brand new black carpeting and leatherette headlining are further enhancements to the interior.  Completing the package is the leather topped dash and stainless steel fascia tastefully upgraded but still retaining the original smith speedometer and gauges.  All functions and controls operate.  A specialist Mini parts supplier invoice is in the file with documented spend of £718.35 on interior trim in September 2014 alone!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

EXTERIOR
The exterior of this range topping 1100XL is truly exceptional.  Finished in optional Ford metallic Copper Brown (code 7) it has a deep polished shine and a pleasing uniform finish which is outstanding.  There is very minor evidence of paint imperfection to the rear scuttle and a tiny undulation to the finish on the bonnet along with very minimal stone chips which in no way detract from the fantastic appearance of the car.  A wonderfully original and spotlessly clean engine bay still displays the blue pre delivery inspection dot markings to the strut tops and the inner wing chassis number remains unpainted.  Equally the immaculate boot area houses the jack and spare wheel with the original cross ply tyre and factory sticker to the inner wheel tub.  The chrome trim is fantastic, window rubbers are undamaged and all decals are correct and present including the 1100XL wing badges.  Delightful.

INTERIOR
The interior of this cherished Escort 1100XL example has been beautifully preserved.  The XL specific deeply embossed upholstered seats in Tan (code KL) are unworn and absolutely commensurate with the cars incredible low mileage.  Only a very faint marking to the driver’s seat base and a small split to the rear bench top negate the term immaculate.  The headlining is tight and spotless, and the black deep looped pile carpets are in remarkable order having been protected from new by extensive tailor made and colour matched rubber over mats.  This XL model features the GT style larger instrument binnacle to house the extra gauges including oil pressure, temperature, battery indicator and tachometer.  The fascia remains absolutely intact with all simulated wood cappings present and all functions and controls operating perfectly.  The rear view mirror casing has deteriorated from sun damage.  This car really is a beautiful, unspoilt place to be and exactly how Ford intended.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with Fords 1098cc OHV Crossflow unit, the power output of 55bhp enables a top speed of 83mph and 0-60 in a perhaps sedate 19.4 seconds.  The engines fires up immediately and provides a delightful engine note with more than enough capability to keep up with modern traffic.  The four speed gearbox with synchromesh on all forward gears allows light and precise progression up the range, an absolute joy to operate.  A true reflection of the incredible low mileage this car has covered.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard pressed steel wheels with original chrome centre caps remain on the car and are shod with quality branded 155 SR 12 radial ply tyres with excellent tread remaining.  The wheels and hub caps are in excellent condition with only very faint age related markings.   The all-round drum brakes feel assured and bring the car up to a straight and prompt halt.

HISTORY FILE
This truly outstanding example was built in the Saarlouis factory in West Germany and registered new in Italy on 19th December 1972 by Ford Concessionaires Furgiuele & Baldelli of Venezia.  This 1100XL compared to the UK 1300XL with subtle differences to include opening front quarter lights and different bright hubcaps not fitted to UK cars.  Just one Italian owner from new, Mr Benito D’arcano enjoyed the car until it travelled to the UK in August 2013.  The original Italian Ford Service booklet is housed in the plastic wallet alongside the Ford Escort vehicle handbook and the ‘La Direzione compartimentale della motorizzazione civile’ (The management of compartmental vehicle registration) displaying many annual vehicle taxation stamps.  The history file further consists of the first UK MOT certificate as well as some Italian paperwork and even a sales brochure!  This immensely desirable and rare model has been beautifully preserved from new and offers real collectable credentials and nostalgic charm.
