The history file is simply colossal and thorough perusal would take some considerable time.  In addition to the original service booklet, which still has the factory build codes in the rear cover, all other handbooks, guides and dealership literature remain in the plastic document wallet and incredibly the rear-view mirror hung running in schedule has been kept.  There is an invite card from the supplying dealer to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of Daimler-Benz in 1986 and a letter to Mr Moorby in 1992 from S.G.Smith Motors giving a valuation of both this car and his 1982 380SL.  A huge history folder holds countless invoices and MOT certificates dating back to the 1980’s as well as an original sales brochure and three Mercedes keys.  The Mercedes-Benz W126 line is essentially a byword for outstanding build quality and engineering refinement, and this low mileage example allows the next owner to appreciate this German marque at pinnacle level and enjoy the growing interest this generation of Mercedes-Benz is attracting.

After a 15-month rebuild the showpiece was ready to demonstrate his skill and the services his business could offer. Unfortunately for Roy, the Mini Van was sold quickly at a show in 2011 to Mr Roger Coe who made him an offer he could not refuse! The under-bonnet factory build plate confirms this early example was manufactured in September 2003 at the Spartanburg Plant, USA.  Supplied new by BMW Main Dealer Specialist Cars Ltd of St6evenage on the 23rd October 2003, a BMW print out reveals the huge specification resulting in a price when new of £36,175.  The original BMW leather wallet houses all handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as the service booklet.  There is also the Approved Used Car folder when sold again in 2007 by the same BMW Main Dealer.  The most recent service entry by BMW Main Dealer, Soper of Lincoln, was carried out at 38,611 miles and the Condition Based Service indicator (CBS) confirms the next service is not due for 11,950 miles.  A large file contains BMW Main Dealer invoices and corresponding BMW health check sheets with green indicators, evidencing no less than 12 visits to a main dealer.  Further invoices and all previous MOT certificates are held within the history file along with two BMW keys plus the master key blade.  A fabulous opportunity to purchase one of the best low mileage examples available.

The last of a famous line, a Ford Capri 280 Brooklands build 971 with 6,212 miles.

EQUIPMENT
Body-coloured grille, lamp bezels and door mirrors, bodyside mouldings, power assisted steering, front and rear spoilers, tailgate wash/wipe, tinted glass all round, tilting/sliding steel sunroof, ammeter and oil pressure gauge, tachometer, quartz analogue clock, Ford ESRT 32PS electronic radio cassette, electric aerial, courtesy lights, perforated black headlining, three-spoke leather covered steering wheel, leather gear knob, 50/50 split folding rear seats, boot light, instrument brightness control.

EXTERIOR
An instant classic the moment it rolled off the production line, this limited-edition Capri 280 is finished in the only exclusive colour available, Brooklands Green Metallic, (Code T7), and has a superb finish. All exterior trim items and decals are pristine other than two touched in marks to the coachline and a tiny mark to the scuttle panel. The body has never been machine polished and retains its desirable factory standard appearance craved by purists and exactly as Ford intended. The underside is remarkable and is a perfect reflection of the low mileage, warm storage conditions and limited fair weather use. Simply breathtaking.

INTERIOR
The interior is distinguished by seats fully trimmed with luxurious, high quality Raven leather with Burgundy piping and are Recaro designs. The deep pile grey carpeting is spotless and the black perforated headlining is tight and clean along with the leather covered steering wheel and gear knob, all commensurate with the incredibly low miles covered. There are absolutely no cracks to the dash and the dials, switches and controls are brilliantly clear. Carpet mats have been fitted and minor veins to the driver seat are barely visible. All controls and gauges fully function including the two-speed heater fan, analogue quartz clock and electronic cassette player. The rear parcel-shelf is incredible and the boot area remains unused. This is a very exclusive and iconic 80’s interior exactly true to the manufacturers intentions.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Capri 2.8i was entrusted to Fords Special Vehicle Engineering group, (SVE), who added a Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection system, an oil/water heat exchanger, viscous coupled fan and an improved radiator making this models 158 BHP capable of 130mph and 0-60mph in 7.9 seconds. The engine is smooth and quiet whilst producing an unmistakable burble. Correct factory under bonnet identification plates are intact including the metal plate with the ‘Brooklands’ inscription and exhibitionists will wow spectators with the cleanliness and originality under the bonnet. The 5 speed gearbox is light and progression through the range is precise.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This 280 Capri is fitted with the factory correct and unique 7-spoke 7X15 inch alloy wheels and have never been refurbished. Premium matching Continental 195/50 ZR15 tyres are fitted and are as new. The spare is still the original Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyre. The hydraulic dual-line servo-assisted brakes with ventilated front discs unique on the 2.8i stop the car quickly and in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
Coveted by collectors the limited edition Capri 280 is the most difficult ‘car you promised yourself’ as only 1038 were produced to celebrate the last of a famous line. GG11829 is build number 971 and has only had two former keepers from new. The first owner was Ford themselves who registered the car on the 1st August 1987 followed by Mr Powell who purchased it when just six months old. The Used Vehicle Invoice reveals the sum paid of £9,960.50 when the car had covered 3,070 miles. Mr Powell also stipulated at this time that the oil be changed to Shell Gemini Motor Oil, a premium oil and his only choice. He lovingly garaged the vehicle for most of its life (hence the low mileage of 6,212) and kept the car in pristine condition – which is how it still presents today. In 2013 when Chris Powell sadly passed away, the car was sold to best friend and third registered keeper, Mr Gilette who recognised the significance of this 280 and also kept the car in a preserved state. The car’s condition today is stunning and KGF Classic have embarked on a full recommissioning programme using only genuine Ford service items ready for the next owner to enjoy and cherish.

Citroen Saxo VTR

An unmodified Citroen Saxo VTR with 52,519 miles and full service history.

EQUIPMENT
Sports styling with painted bumper skirts and wheel arch extensions, body colour door housing mirrors and handles, rear spoiler, tinted glass, front fog lights, driver’s airbag, front seatbelt pretensioners, energy absorbing side impact protection, power assisted steering, alarm, remote central locking, electric and heated door mirrors, slide/tilt sunroof, electric windows, white instrument dials, rev counter, split folding rear seats, RDS radio with single CD player.  Factory options; Metallic paint.

EXTERIOR
This brilliant VTR hot hatch is finished in factory optional and desirable Topaz Gold Metallic, (Code KAU).  This standard example has thankfully avoided the boy racer fate that befell most cars and the paintwork looks superb with a bright polished finish.  Incredibly, the lightweight factory panels and trim sections are in good condition, (the unladen weight is only 935kg!).  Minor age related markings and stone chips can be seen, and there is light distortion to the nearside rear lower plastic trim, utterly insignificant.  The glass is factory fitment with original stickers and the driver’s door aperture still displays the factory build label.  A rare find in factory standard specification and certain to stir up youthful nostalgia for an entire generation of petrolheads!

INTERIOR
The care bestowed on this cherished car is clearly evident in the excellent condition of the fragile interior.  The original Delta cloth upholstery only fitted to the VTR model is clean and unworn along with the pristine door inserts.  The headlining, plastic trim and fascia are perfect and fully functional white dials remind the driver of the sporting credentials.  The original RDS radio with single CD remains fitted and operational.  The boot area containing the wheel brace and towing eye is very clean and displays PDI markings and the original metal data plate.  A very clean and unspoilt interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This Mk2 VTR is fitted with the revised 97bhp four cylinder 1.6L 8 valve engine.  A top speed of 120mph and 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds is quoted and this lively little car is huge fun to drive.  The engine bay remains exactly as intended and displays factory stickers, plates and panel stampings.  The five-speed manual transmission offers light and direct changes with a sporty feel.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted 14” Toulouse alloy wheels remain in excellent condition with only light markings and no kerb damage.  Brand new quality Dunlop Sport bluresponse 185/55 R14 tyres were fitted in January 2019.  The servo assisted brakes with discs all round provide safe assured stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 3rd September 2001 by Citroen Main Dealer Broads of Chalfont Ltd, this example has covered just 52,519 miles from new with three owners in total.  The full service history consists of the original service book containing all dealership guarantee stamps plus 10 service stamped entries, including the latest cambelt change in May 2016 at 46,522 miles.  The full original Citroen document wallet containing all handbooks, guides and point of sale literature as well as the original PDI check sheet.  A further folder contains MOT certificates and maintenance invoices, and there are two original Citroen keys present.  Representing a very rare example of an often modified and abused hot hatch, the classic car world is quickly realising the increased desirability of sporting Saxo’s with good examples very difficult to find.
