Mutt Hilts Grey 125

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A custom Mutt Hilts Grey 125 with just 1,616 miles and one owner.

MODEL HISTORY
Having built custom motorcycles for a very long time, Mutt Motorcycles recognised that the custom scene was by large quite inaccessible, something they have sought to address. From the Mutt HQ in Birmingham, the aim was to bring motorcycle manufacturing back to its Birmingham roots, the historic heart of British motorcycle manufacturing. The bikes are created with a similar vibe to the machines built in Birmingham in the early days of BSA, Triumph, Enfield and New Imperial. Their ethos is to deliver classically styled custom machines that are affordable to buy and run while being easy to ride and maintain.

EQUIPMENT
Gloss painted tank, side panels and mudguard, Mutt Monogram and custom script, shortened twin-shock frame, satin black custom shocks, high rise black satin cross-braced bars, diamond pattern grips, hand-finished aluminium mudguards, halogen headlamp with yellow tint lens and powder coated grille, aluminium LED indicators, LED custom tail light, fuel injection, electric start, engine kill switch, mini-speedo, neutral indicator, EU4 compliant.

EXTERIOR
Individually painted in Deep Gloss Grey Finish to the tank, side panels and mudguards, the factory paintwork is stunning and essentially as new, commensurate with a 1,616 mile machine. All factory decals, stickers and labels are present and correct as is the Mutt Monogram and custom side panel script. The shortened frame and Satin Black shocks and bars are perfect and match the awesome stealth look this bike exudes. Identification and information plates and stock frame number stamping are clearly legible. The grilled yellow tint light and diamond pattern grips add to the effortlessly cool look and all mirrors, light clusters, rubbers and other trim is preserved like new. The original hand-stitched Antiqued Brown seat is comfortable, stylish and in perfect order. The extra edge of McQueen cool.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Using the bulletproof Suzuki GN125 engine made by a Suzuki Partners, along with a base chassis and drive train produced to Mutt’s meticulous specification and design, the 125cc 4-stroke single cylinder unit features fuel injection to produce 12hp and 10Nm maximum torque. Weighing just 105kg, an impressive top speed of 70mph is quoted while the matt black stainless-steel exhaust emits a deep growl not found on any other 125. The engine and all ancillaries are exposed ‘naked’ in all their pristine glory. Modern motorcycle features such as electric start and fuel injection allow ease of use and the 5-speed one down four up gearbox performs perfectly and is very easy to use. Awesome fun!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The large 18in wheels with black rims look superb with the fat deep tread nobbly 4.10.18 tyres completing the retro look. Slightly tarnished wheel spokes will only be noticed by the hyper-critical and is about all that separate this example from a new machine. A combined front and rear disc brake system offers fantastic stopping power, perfect for thrashing about the mean streets of Birmingham, the home city of British motorcycle manufacturing or the daily commute.

HISTORY FILE
Finished and fettled in the workshop at Mutt HQ in Digbeth, Birmingham, final bike build ready for customer handover was completed and ready for first registration on 12th October 2017. From a worldwide 71-strong dealer network spanning the UK and Europe, Asia, Australasia, the US and Canada, Mutt Motorcycles are a modern success. Of the 37 UK dealers this example was supplied by TTT Motorcycles of East London, one of three featured dealers. The first and only owner Ivelin Ivanov cherished her bike and this Mutt Hilts Grey 125 returned to TTT Motorcycles for its first service in May 2018 having covered just 682 miles.

The history file consists of the original clear plastic zip wallet with Mutt Monogram containing the service book stamped by the supplying dealer along with first service entry and invoice and also the user manual. The V5 registration document lists no former keepers and there are two original keys, the spare still wrapped in its protective sheath. EXTERIOR
Just four colours were available for the Clubsport, Titanium Silver, Carbon Black, Velvet Blue as well as this example in Estoril Blue Metallic, (Code 335), a factory optional colour from the BMW Individual Range and a signature colour for special edition performance BMW’s. The incredible credentials of one owner and 17,118 miles speak for themselves in the condition of this example, with the exceptional paint finish simply exquisite. The rear M-Spoiler, unique to the Clubsport, and special M Aerodynamic Bodystyling are in outstanding order and set this model apart from the standard 330Ci, a hugely desirable car in its own right. All factory panels are pin straight with no dings or damage and all trim pieces and glass follow suit and complete the almost new car experience. Very slight aging to the lower headlights is visible. Factory stickers remain in the door apertures and supplying BMW main dealer number plates remain fitted to this totally genuine example. A hugely desirable model and very difficult to fault.

INTERIOR
Soft luxurious Nappa leather in Black, (Code N6SW), is beautifully preserved with the leather facings free from damage or wear. All bolsters are absolutely firm retaining correct shape offering near perfect ergonomics and optimum supportive sports seats. The Special Silver Aluminium Cube trim is free from the common scratches found on higher mileage examples and all other trim including the leather M multi-function steering wheel and gear knob is perfect. All functions and controls operate including the ice-cold climate control, cruise control and electric memory seats. The unopened BMW first aid kit remains below the passenger seat. A stunning preserved BMW interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
For those that want true sports car performance, the legendary 6-cylinder in-line 3.0-litre engine is awesome. Silky-smooth when revving up to 5900 rpm it produces 231 bhp and a whopping 300 Nm of torque despatching 0-62 mph in 6.5 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. A feature of this Clubsport model is the factory deletion of 20kg of acoustic sound insulation to increase engine sound and sports suspension settings to offer a rawer driving experience. The engine bay is pristine with factory stickers, plates, under bonnet labels and strut top stampings. The driver’s preference is the 5-speed manual transmission with shortened M gear lever, a revision of the Clubsport over the standard 330Ci.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The bold 18inch M Double Spoke alloy wheels are pristine bar one tiny mark to the nearside front wheel and the car remains fitted with the factory Michelin Pilot Sport 225/40 R18 front and 255/35 R18 rear tyres. The factory space saver tyre is shod in the original Continental tyre, unused and still with colour banding, and stored in the immaculate boot space alongside the complete toolkit, jack and warning triangle. Vented front and rear discs with ABS offer immense and predictable stopping power.

EXTERIOR
This high specification Vogue Turbo D has covered an incredibly low 15,970 miles from new with low owners, the first having cherished the car for 20 years.  Finished in original Alaskan Blue metallic, (Code NWC 5365), the paint work is exceptionally good with a bright uniform finish.  All factory panels are pin straight with no damage including the perfect often troublesome tailgate.  Worthy of mention is a small blemish to the nearside roof gutter.  All chunky trim sections and decals are in pristine order and all glass is original registration etched.  Originality seekers will be pleased to see factory Lucas head lamps and Land Rover light fittings, as well as Land Rover main dealer number plates and rear screen sticker.  A preserved example of museum quality.

INTERIOR
Upholstered in factory original Winchester Muted Grey Cloth, the immensely comfortable seats are in near perfect condition with no wear and all foam and seat structure remains firm and in shape.  The deep pile carpets are pristine and sumptuous having been protected from new by genuine Range Rover over mats.  The fascia and American walnut door inserts are perfect and all the gauges, controls and electrics operate exactly as they should, including the Range Rover radio cassette.  Preserved low mileage credentials are further evident in the perfect headlining, PDI stickers to the seats and seatbelt buckles and the original transfer box instruction label still attached to the dashboard.  The boot area is accessed through the iconic split tailgate and has factory stickers and chalk marks behind the side mounted spare wheel.  A far cry from the usual abused examples, more au fait with a day at the races than a day on the farm!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 2393cc VM diesel as fitted to this Turbo D was Land Rover’s first factory produced diesel for the Range Rover.  This intercooled turbocharged diesel unit produces 112.6bhp and 248Nm maximum torque, with a delightfully robust sounding diesel hum, slightly quieter once inside the cabin thanks to Range Rovers extensive soundproofing!  The engine bay is a spotless showpiece with all factory stickers, labels and plates intact and genuine Land Rover service items clear to see.  The exceptionally strong 5-speed manual gearbox with chain driven transfer box is sturdy to use and performs perfectly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original alloy wheels are in perfect condition having never been refurbished with Range Rover and part number stampings clearly prominent to the outer rims and factory fitted centre caps in excellent order.  Brand new Michelin Latitude 205/80 R16 tyres were fitted in July 2019 but all five original Michelin XM+S tyres including the spare have been kept for originality purposes.  Hydraulic discs with servo assistance operate to all four wheels.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 1st August 1988, this was the very first day of the F registration cars and many dealers would open on Sunday’s or at midnight to allow buyers early collection.  The supplying Land Rover Main Dealer was Knowles of Epperstone and the original vehicle sales invoice made out to first owner, Mr Henry Taylor, confirms the purchase price of £23,058.31 less part exchange allowance for his 1974 3-door Range Rover.  Mr Taylor purchased the car upon retirement and was the proud owner for 20 years, using the car regularly but sparingly and always keeping it garaged, and only selling when he was to give up driving.  Just three further keepers are all traceable and the condition is a credit to all owners.  The large history folder is chronologically filed and contains all MOT certificates carried out dating back to the first in 1991 to fully verify the mileage, along with a large collection of main dealer and specialist service invoices.  An original Range Rover sales brochure and two sets of original keys complete the history file.

Rarely does such a low mileage preserved example become available, worthy of the finest collections.
