INTERIOR
Inside this sporting hot Ford are a pair of body-hugging ST-branded partial leather sports front seats in Infra-Red Wire, (Code IW).  The entire cabin space, seats and trim can only be described as immaculate and it is very obvious that this is a very well cared for example.  Bright red ST emblems to the seats, steering wheel and sill scuff plates emphasise the performance credentials, and all functions and controls operate including the model 6006 stereo radio/CD.  An unmolested Ford hot hatch interior.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Ford Main Dealer, Evans Halshaw of Chester, on 8th May 2007, this example has covered a remarkably low 18,610 miles from new.  The first owner was a mature lady, Mrs Crew, who kept the car for 11 years before gifting it to her Grandson in June 2018, both of whom have kept the car 100% standard.  The exceptionally low mileage is fully verified both in the full Ford service history and every MOT certificate since the very first in 2010.  Thankfully having avoided the clutches of the boy racers and modifying scene, this example is in exceptional order.  The Ford zip up document wallet houses the original handbook and service book which has five Ford stamped entries with the most recent service in November 2018 at 13,094 miles at Peoples Ford.  A separate folder contains all Ford service invoices and receipts, and all security code cards are in the wallet with two Ford keys.  Representing the next generation of collectable fast Fords, this desirable Colorado Red example will delight any Ford fan wishing to find one of the best preserved and unmolested cars.

HISTORY FILE
This RS2000 Custom was manufactured in November 1979 and first registered on 4th January 1980.  The first owner was the Ford Motor Company themselves.  In 1989 the car was purchased by Andrew Jobson from Burton Power.  His dedication for the marque and this car can be witnessed in all areas with parts painstakingly sourced, many being New Old Stock still in their Ford packets!  A six page feature in Classic Ford Magazine in May 2013 explains how he eventually sold car after 23 years with it being pampered ever since in the hands of few dedicated RS enthusiasts.  RS Owners Club Valuation forms from the respected late Dave Robinson and Mk2 RS2000 Guru, Alan Sherwood, are included and an Agreed Valuation in October 2016 by Hagerty of £45,000 is underwritten.  The car is very well respected and is often referred to as the Terracotta Warrior due to its factory colour and jewel of an engine costing £24,600 to replace.  Recent works by Wayne Mitchell Competition Engines Ltd to include a cambelt and Rolling Road Services by Emerald M3D Ltd, (suppliers of the K6 ECU), offer piece of mind this car drives as well as it looks.

EXTERIOR
Finished in stunning optional Ford Performance Blue, (Code H2), the leading colour choice of many Ford ST and RS variants and the must have choice for the ST220.  Commensurate with the incredibly low miles covered under avid enthusiast ownership, the paintwork boasts a brilliant deep gloss shine and superb uniform finish.  Only the closest scrutiny will reveal faint markings and some stone chips to the front, none to detract from the cars impressive appeal.  The original Ford glass has been chassis etched and there is slight delamination and stone chips to the front screen.  Ford main dealer number plates are fitted and all badges and trim sections are well preserved with no discolouration.  Muscular styling and twin tail pipes hint towards the sporting prowess of this performance tourer.

INTERIOR
The interior of this remarkable example is in spotless condition and exactly as Ford intended.  The Ebony Leather upholstery, (Code EV), is beautifully clean and free from undue wear or damage.  Minor markings to the driver’s seat bolster and scuffs to the driver’s ST tread plate are barely worthy of mention.  The body hugging Recaro front seats are immensely comfortable while holding the occupants firmly in place, even upon the most spirited drive!  Tailored Ford rubber floor mats have protected the carpets from new and the headlining is flawless.  All controls and functions are exactly as Ford intended even down to the factory fitted Sony 6CD stereo system.  The leather trimmed steering wheel, gearknob and soft finish fascia are pristine.  Truly exceptional and unquestionably an enthusiasts car.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Developed extensively by Ford’s Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE), the 3.0i DOHC V6 24V Duratec powerplant pleased Ford’s engineers by surpassing the ST220’s namesake with an actual power output of 223bhp.  Coupled with impressive maximum torque figures of 285Nm at 4900rpm, a top speed of 151mph and 0-60 in 6.8 seconds was achieved.  Jeremy Clarkson whilst originally testing the ST220 remarked, “Every time I drive one of these cars, I ask myself why do we buy anything else?”  The engine bay is spotlessly clean with all factory labels and stickers intact, and the only modification specified by the previous mature owner is an expensive, quality and very discreet Milltek exhaust system that is visually very close to standard whilst emitting a delicious burble.  The six-speed gearbox is light and precise with a sporting feel.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard ST220 18in 16 spoke alloy wheels are virtually perfect and the beautiful centre caps are as new.  Quality matching Michelin 225/40 R18 tyres all round have excellent tread remaining.  The braking system featuring a host of electronic assistance programs offers superb stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new on 1st March 2004 by Ford Main Dealer, Thornbury Motors Limited of Bristol, this example has been truly cherished by just three mature keepers and covered a mere 37,212 miles from new.  Despite the minimal mileage covered, servicing has been carried out regularly with 10 Ford main dealer and specialist stamps displayed in the service record, the most recent entry being a major service carried out in April 2019 at 36,897 miles with a supporting invoice in the history file for £929.43 for the servicing and maintenance work.

The history file further consists of previous MOT certificates along with invoices and receipts to fully document the low mileage and the conscientious upkeep.  Two original Ford keys with codes tags are present along with the full book pack in the Ford zip wallet and all dealership literature and security code cards.  A highly regarded and appreciating modern classic Ford presented and maintained to an excellent standard.

INTERIOR
Prepare to enter the 1980’s with this as-new Austin Rover MG cockpit.  The Grey herringbone/Grey velour seat facings and padded headrests with red piping are perfect and the ribbed finish red carpeting with ‘MG’ motif moulded into a drivers heel mat is unworn.  Rubber Metro floor mats have protected the few miles that the car has been used for.  The red front and rear seat belts and Turbo badge on the centre of the steering wheel remind the driver this was the ultimate performance MG and at the time, the fastest ever MG saloon, double the power of a Metro City!  All features work within the colour-keyed facia including the very cool light-emitting diode boost gauge and radio/stereo cassette player with integral speakers in the door bins. This really is the best.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Perfection continues under the bonnet with everything correct, gleaming and fully working.  The turbocharger installation, developed in conjunction with Lotus, has resulted in a 93bhp with superbly progressive power delivery.  A top speed of 112mph is quoted with 0-60mph in under 10 seconds.  Breakerless electronic ignition with anti-knock control and an oil cooler were all standard features to the flagship Turbo model.  Even the turbo cooling pipe crudely stuck to the underside of the bonnet from factory and often missing remains attached!  The 4-speed all synchromesh gearbox is light and precise with none of the issues often prevalent due to the higher engine power.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The unique Turbo Cast alloy wheels with flush style hub and wheel nut covers are perfect and have never been refurbished.  The conscientious first owner removed them in the cars early years and placed them into storage with excellent factory Dunlop SP Sport D3 tyres measuring 165/60 HR13.  These have now been refitted to continue the concours theme and an immaculate second set are supplied with the car.  The servo-assisted duel circuit brake system with ventilated front discs are gripped by 4-piston calipers and modified rear drums with a compensator valve to pull the car up quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
Prepare for utter amazement with this history file to verify the mileage, condition and provenance.  The car has had two registered owners from new and was supplied by Lex Mead of Bexleyheath to first owner, Mr Hugh Watson Wickham-Lamont on the 21st March 1984.  The new vehicle invoice reveals a total price paid of £6,073 and the Lombard North Central finance booklet is included for the £3,000 borrowed on finance.  Mr Lamont was very protective over this car and retained every service receipt, tax disc, MOT certificate and sales literature documentation.  After six years and 6,532 miles Mr Lamont took the vehicle off the road in fear of it being stolen or damaged and stored it off the ground in his centrally heated garage. The car was run on a regular basis to keep the oils flowing.  In 1999 the car re-emerged and was displayed by him at the Guildford MG Show which soon progressed into Regional and National Concours wins.  Once he felt the car had achieved the standing it deserved it was put back into storage and venturing out the occasional MOT.  A letter written by Mr Lamont details the history of the car along with Concours score sheets, trophies, show tickets and programmes.  His ownership spanned 30 years until 2014 when the second registered keeper Mr Johnson became the owner.  This pampered example is without question one of the best in existence and a very rare opportunity for the most discerning collector.

This incredible 2.0 Sport AWD has covered just 16,983 miles from new with two family owners. Finished in factory original Bright Red, (Code 559), the uniform paint finish is simply stunning. All factory panels are pin straight with uniform gaps and only a touched in mark to the front bumper. All trim sections, glass, lights and badges are superb and the huge round fog lamps and the all-wheel drive system are a direct descendant from the Subaru’s rallying heritage. This preserved road-going example is simply remarkable.

INTERIOR
Commensurate with the 16,983 miles covered under extremely cossetted ownership, the interior is almost perfect. The Woven Cloth upholstery, (Code 720), is pristine and shows no wear or damage whatsoever. The door cards, headlining and carpets are immaculate and all functions and controls feel tight and brand new. All equipment is fully functional and the steering wheel and gear knob display unworn natural veins found only on super-low mileage examples. The luggage area with fully intact roller blind shelf is spotless and housed in the boot floor is the original space saver wheel and Subaru toolkit, both virgin unused items. The supplying Subaru dealer sticker is still in the rear screen and factory labels remain in the door apertures. The ultimate modern classic to seat five in comfort with a large boot, perfect for long distance touring!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Powered by a 1994cc four-cylinder engine, the output is 116bhp and 172Nm to achieve 0-60mph in 9.7 seconds and 118mph top speed. The pristine engine bay is original and all components display the correct standard factory finish. Identity plates, labels and panels stampings are clearly visible. A five-speed manual, dual range gearbox is tight, sturdy and precise and perfectly mated to the AWD permanent all-wheel drive system. A superb example to drive with just a hint of the instantly recognisable Subaru burble.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original light alloy 6J x 15in wheels are unrestored and in superb order with only the lightest of markings. Matching branded 195/60 R15 tyres have recently been fitted and have covered very few miles. The ABS braking system incorporates ventilated front discs to bring the car up to a straight and steady halt.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Subaru Main Dealer, Carstins of Coventry, the car was registered new on 7th February 1997 to a Mrs Betty Wilkins who was the first of just two owners. In 2008, family member, Mr Edwin Waters, took ownership and the car has remained with him ever since and used as a second car, a Mk1 Vauxhall Corsa performing everyday duties. The total mileage from new is just 16,983 miles and the condition of this cherished example is a credit to both owners.

The original Subaru document pack holds all handbooks and point of sale literature as well as the service book with ten stamped entries from the supplying Subaru Main Dealer, Carstins. Both keys are present with dealer leather fob and there is an original sales brochure for the Subaru Impreza 2.0 Series.

Easy to understand why it achieved a JD Power gold award in 1997, the first generation Impreza is an extremely capable and sure footed modern classic and this example is without question one of the best of the survivors.

EXTERIOR
Finished in ever desirable Diamond White, (Code B3), this spine-tingling RS Turbo looks fantastic with all factory panels straight and undamaged and the paintwork boasting a bright shine.  The desirable 90 Spec enhancements such as the face-lift front bumper and rear spoiler are exactly as Ford intended, as is the rest of this unspoilt example with all Carello lights, Ford lens clusters and factory etched glass still fitted.  Correct decals, driving lamps and aerodynamic aids remain in excellent condition.  There is slight delamination to the bottom of the front screen.  Ford main dealer rear screen sticker and number plates are fitted and virtually unobtainable genuine Ford headlamp protectors still remain to reveal the care this remarkable example has enjoyed.  A brilliant and iconic Fast Ford.

INTERIOR
This late S2 RST has a near perfect interior which remains exactly how the manufacturer intended.  The fully adjustable supportive Recaro seats show no wear having been fitted with seat covers protecting the ‘ Zolda ‘ fabric which is grey, red and blue (Code LW).  Matching door cards are pristine with only very light markings to the interior door handles whereby age-related deterioration is a known weak point.  The carpets are still protected by the rubber Ford ‘waffle’ over-mats.  All switches, knobs and dials function correctly and the original Ford Keycode stereo radio/cassette remains fitted with factory speakers.  The boot area is spotless and houses the genuine jack and wheel brace and there are factory dot stickers to the boot floor.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1.6 OHC (CVH) fuel injected engine with a Garrett AiResearch T3 turbo charger and intercooler is completely factory standard making this vehicle a rare unmolested example.  Producing 132bhp it gives a 0-60mph dash of 8.2 seconds and a top speed of 128mph and having covered just 43,980 miles from new is still fun.  The car has just benefited from a full major service including cambelt, water pump, pulleys and tensioners all using genuine Ford parts with corresponding invoices.  The engine bay is remarkably clean with factory plates, stickers, inner wing stamps and an unpainted slam panel data plate.  The genuine Ford Carello headlamps still have the stickers to the back of the units but the chrome has aged along with the bonnet turbo heatshield.  A factory original exhaust system remains fitted.  The 5-speed manual Ford BC box with standard 220mm clutch is light, precise and a joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The correct light alloy 6X15 RS wheels remain undamaged and in superb order.  Matching 195/50 R15 Uniroyal Rainsport 2 tyres are fitted with ample tread.  The spare still has the factory Uniroyal item and due to age is for show purposes only.  This Hot Hatch slows as well as it goes with the ABS braking system designed in conjunction with Lucas Girling working perfectly.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new by Ford Main Dealer, Greyhound of Accrington, the car was registered on 15th August 1990 as one of the final Series 2 RS Turbo’s and on a H registration.  The mileage of 43,996 is fully verified with every MOT certificate dating back to the very first in 1993.  The original Ford document pack holds all handbooks and point of sale literature and all keys are present including the working torch key as well as the special RS Turbo sales brochure.  A collection of service invoices and receipts including the major service in October 2019 completes the impressive history file.  KGF Classic Cars sold the car in 2013 and more recently in 2019.  Only being replaced for an identical ultra-low mileage example sourced by KGF Classic Cars, we are delighted to see its return again knowing how difficult it is to find excellent, low mileage and unspoilt examples.
This is an iconic Fast Ford preserved exactly as intended and wanting for nothing.
