HISTORY FILE
The name R32 originates from ‘R’ for Race and ‘32’ in recognition of the 3.2 litre engine. Registered new on the 23rd May 2003 by Volkswagen Main Dealer, Corkills of Wigan, the car was purchased new by Robert Sharrock, who owned the vehicle for the next ten years. A sales invoice in the history file confirms the purchase price paid by Mr Sharrock of £24,420. Throughout his ownership Mr Sharrock had the car religiously serviced at Volkswagen Main Dealer, Gilbert Lawton of Macclesfield, with nine entries in the service book stamped by them. In 2013 the car was sold to the second and only other keeper, Thomas Threadgold, who has enjoyed the car for the last seven years as an occasionally fun car with minimal usage. A further three entries in the service booklet from independent specialists includes the most recent service carried out in June 2020 at which time the brake discs and pads all round were replaced.

A further huge and neatly filed folder contains corresponding Volkswagen service invoices and check sheets as well as MOT certificates dating back to the first in 2006. In 2009 the first owner Mr Sharrock treated himself to a Milltek rear silencer and coilovers all documented with invoices. The handbooks, manuals and guides and are included in the special leather R32 document wallet. Completing the history file are two remote keys with code tags and a R32 fob as well as an original Golf R32 sales brochure.

Dealer options; Mud flaps.

EXTERIOR
This top of the range for luxury Sierra Sapphire 2000E draws its origins from Ford’s ‘E for Executive’ suffix tradition used mostly in the 1970’s and reserved for only the highest specification cars. The 2000E Sapphire was in fact the final car to be given the hallowed ‘E’ badge, shortly after the Orion 1600E, and this 13,744-mile example is a fitting tribute. Finished in Tu-Tone Metallic Flint Grey over Moonstone Blue, (Code T 9), the paintwork looks fantastic and boasts a bright uniform finish and polished shine. In the ownership of elderly husband and wife from new until 2013 and suffering from some parking scrapes and knocks, remedial paintwork has been carried out in order to uphold the beautiful appearance. All panels are straight and undamaged and the trim sections are in excellent order. A hairline compression crack in the paint to the front bumper is only very minor. All glass is etched factory fitment to include Carello headlamps and Ford light clusters including the security etched rear lenses. Badges are immaculate and dealership branded number plates and rear screen sticker remain fitted. Even the headlamp wash/wipe system operates! This is a very rare and highly collectable Sierra.

INTERIOR
The opulent full leather trim in Shadow Grey colour scheme, (Code L X), is spotlessly clean, sublimely comfortable and in superb order with only the faintest of crease lines in the leather to the driver’s seat bolster. The matching door cards in Starline fabric with vinyl inserts have some very minimal shrinkage, a common occurrence. The fully intact dashboard has no cracks whatsoever and all equipment and functions operate as they should with exception of the air-conditioning which does not blow ice-cold. The digital fuel computer and clock and graphic information module function correctly with perfect displays. The original Ford stereo radio/cassette (Model 2007) with separate power amplifier sounds superb! The spotless boot area has immaculate carpeting, an undamaged circular ply-board wheel cover and all factory build stickers are intact.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 2.0 DOHC EFi engine develops 125bhp at 5500rpm and 174Nm of torque at 2500rpm, achieving a top speed of 121mph and 0-60mph in 9.1 seconds. Remaining in standard specification, the engine bay is clean and displays factory plates, stickers and original wings with Ford emblem and date stamps visible. The five-speed MT-75 synchromesh gearbox is sturdy and precise.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original 14” X 5½ ” alloy wheels were unique at the time to the 2000E model and are in excellent condition with no kerb damage and tiny markings found only upon very close scrutiny. Matching premium brand Uniroyal Rain Expert 195/65 R14 tyres were fitted new in 2019 and the spare wheel has the original Dunlop SP Sport D8 tyre still fitted! The dual line servo assisted G-Valve brakes with ventilated 10.5” front discs and rear drums bring the car up to a steady, straight and assured halt.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Ford Main Dealer, Charlesworths of Doncaster, and registered new on 30th November 1989, this Sierra Sapphire 2000E has covered just 13,744 miles from new. The first two owners were Husband and Wife, Mr and Mrs Pashley, who purchased the car upon both retiring from a career as Teachers. Ownership passed to Mrs Alice Pashley upon her husbands passing in 1999 and the car remained with her until 2013. Since 2013 the car has been enjoyed by Ford enthusiasts and used as a practical classic car to attend shows and for other leisure outings. The car was last sold in June 2019 with a sales invoice for £8,200.

The original Charlesworth Ford document wallet houses the service book and all handbooks, guides and dealership literature as well as even the original ‘dates to remember’ peel off sticker sheet and Sales Executive business card! The Ford torch key plus one spare operate all locks. There is a further history folder containing invoices and previous MOT certificates. In June 2020 a service was carried out by KGF Classic Cars using genuine Ford parts and further recent work carried out in 2019 was a new fuel filter and differential oil change. Guaranteed to draw much admiration at any classic car show and ready for enjoyment, this ultra-low mileage example is not to be missed!

The paintwork looks superb and this completely standard example remains just as Audi intended. Expected of the vehicles age and mileage are some stone chips to the front bumper but this cars overall condition is one of being cherished. Audi main dealer number plates are fitted and the front screen is the original still with the airbag warning sticker attached. An outstanding example of this much revered and coveted TT Coupe.

All trim pieces, controls and functions operate perfectly including the ice-cold air conditioning. Genuine Audi carpet mats remain fitted and manufacturer stickers are still attached in the door shuts. Obvious weight saving measures to contribute towards to overall weight loss of 75kg is achieved by a stability bar and luggage net in place of the rear seat, and removal of the spare wheel and heated seats. The discreet and unique Quattro Sport badge above the glove box acts as a subtle hint towards this very special TT’s capabilities.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The increased power from the 1.8 turbocharged engine rising to 240bhp is the result of a different mapping profile and offers an exhilarating 0-60mph time of 5.7 seconds and limited top speed of 155mph. Further weight saving and weight distribution measures were achieved by the removal of the rear counterweight and relocation of the battery to the rear of the vehicle. The engine compartment is unmolested, very clean and has all stickers and plates clearly visible. The Quattro permanent four-wheel drive system mated to a precise 6-speed gearbox offers phenomenal stability and driver enjoyment.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

Two sets of keys with number tags and dealer leather key fobs still attached and a Quattro TT Sport sales brochure complete the history file.

Just four owners in total have cherished this car, the first being the supplying dealer and since 2015 the previous keeper was a wealthy collector with a ‘car cave’ of supercars at his disposal. This useable example looks and performs to an exemplary level; owing to fastidious full main dealer servicing and upkeep. Experienced by a privileged few, this is a very special car.

Morris Mini Mk1 Cooper S 970cc

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A rare homologation Morris Mini Mk1 Cooper S 970cc with previous FIA Passport.

MODEL HISTORY
The Cooper was introduced as a high performance model in October 1961. The Cooper name came from racing car constructor John Cooper, well respected in tuning the BMC A-series engine. The 970cc Cooper S was the lowest production British-built Cooper S, and was manufactured alongside both the 1071cc and 1275cc Cooper S at the Longbridge plant in the UK. It was produced for a 10 month period and was a special-order homologation derivative produced by BMC to allow the Cooper S to compete in Group 1 racing events. Although the performance of the 970cc Cooper S is inferior to the later 1275cc models, the rarity of this model and its ability to race in the under 1000cc racing class make it very collectable. It is stated that just 963 units were made of which 482 were Morris derivatives. (Source: Factory Orginal Mini Mk1 & Mk2 by James Taylor and the classicregister.com)

Finished in the optional Black Leatherette material, (Code LT), the orthopedically designed sports seats are pristine along with the rest of the gorgeous interior. The sense of occasion is maintained once settled in the commanding cockpit with a wealth of working crystal clear instrumentation of the late-type ‘oval’-shaped dashboard. There are no cracks to the dash and the carpets are spotlessly clean. The gearbox surround is free from any unsightly marks or stains and the original Panasonic head unit functions. There is a repair to the drivers door card hidden below the speaker. The car comes complete with its original space saver wheel, full tool kit (unused), aluminium brace, jack and the often missing, tyre compressor! The self-adhesive paper option sticker inside the rear of the boot compartment is present and matches the service book. The perfect performance interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 944 S2 four cylinder 3.0 L inline M44/41 powerplant boasts and impressive set of statistics with 211bhp on tap, enough to propel this Porsche to 62.5mph in 7.1 secs and a top speed of 149 mph. For peace of mind, an oil service was carried out in April 2020 and the cambelt and balance belt was replaced in July 2018 at 9,017 miles. The engine bay presentation is similar to both exterior and interior, extremely clean, tidy and with no signs of abuse. It is suitable for exhibiting due to the perfect factory condition. The gear engagement is positive and smooth and suits this once largest production 4-cylinder engine of its time.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The flat-faced Design 90 rims are a classic style and remain unmarked shod in matching correctly sized Michelin Pilot tyres. Ventilated disc brakes combined with a Bosch ABS braking system provides quick, stable and fade free stops.

Four matching Continental ContiEcoContact3 165/80 R13 tyres were fitted new in 2018. An unused Pirelli P4 tyre sits in the clean boot area compete with the Ford jack and wheel brace which remain secured by the original rubber eyelet straps. Hydraulic dual line brakes with servo assistance offer ample stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
A car with quite a story. Built in September 1973 and registered new on the 8th October 1973, the car has covered just 25,105 miles from new in the hands of only three owners. The first owner, Mr Brian Searle, worked for the supplying Ford Main Dealer, H. C. Smith & Son Ltd of Tadley, and instantly fell in love with the 2000E when it was launched to replace the GXL in late 1973. This Sebring Red car was one of the first 2000E’s received into stock and Mr Searle simply had to have one! These early launch specification 2000E models still had GXL stamped on the identification plate and other unique features. In a twist of perhaps veiled fortune, Mr Searle received a promotion the following year and gained a company car in the form of a Ford Granada. Not willing to part with his beloved Cortina, it was placed into hibernation in his Mother in Law’s heated garage where it remained for 24 years! In 1998 the reluctant decision was made to sell the car to colleague, Mr Neil Blaxhill, who cherished the car for 19 years with sunny day usage only. In 2017 the car was sold to the third and final owner, Mr Mathew Perkins, a car collector who embarked on tours of North Yorkshire in the car and even France! KGF Classic Cars are immensely proud to have acquired what is quite possibly the best unrestored Mk3 Cortina 2000E in existence.

The history file includes the original handbook and 1973 Cortina range sales brochure as well as a folder of receipts, invoices, previous MOT certificates and the Ford Main Dealer tax disc holder, original key and keyring. This is the ultimate collectors Mk3 Cortina in exceptional original condition that is virtually unheard of.
