It was at this point the car was purchased by the previous owners, Mr and Mrs Brown, and with whom the car has remained with since. Mr and Mrs Brown would certainly agree with being described as BMW fanatics and indeed are long term and very active members of the BMW Car Club GB. This outstanding Z3 was purchased in order to attend shows as was the culmination of a lengthy search for the right car, Mr Brown stating in his own words that he saw many substandard examples, albeit his standards are very high. The car was comfortably stored alongside their other BMW’s which include a M5, a 2,000-mile 6 Series and two daily 1 Series’. The labour of love bestowed upon this Z3 has seen the car detailed to a very high standard throughout and subtle upgrades include Angel-Eye headlamps and a fully upgraded front suspension set up to sharpen up the handling whilst losing none of the Z3 magic.

There are two BMW keys plus the master blade and a large file contains receipts and maintenance invoices from BMW main dealers and marque specialists who have maintained the car throughout. The service indicator displays a full complement of green lights and this outstanding example requires nothing more than a new owner to enjoy and appreciate!

Inside this Fast Ford are the original body-hugging Recaro Mondus sports seats in Dark Flint Cloth, (Code A 4). The front seats have been protected by tailored Ford front seat covers since new and as such, along with the exceptionally low mileage, are preserved in perfect condition. Genuine Focus carpet mats are also fitted. The Recaro logo badges and huge body-hugging bolsters confirm that this is no ordinary Focus! Furthermore, the ST Sports steering wheel, jet black headlining, submarine lighting, brushed aluminium gear knob and handbrake grip and racing pedals help to carry on the fast Ford tradition of injecting excitement into everyday family cars. Low mileage indicators and unworn touch points such as the perfect steering wheel are evidence of very minimal usage. All functions and controls are fully operational and the air conditioning is ice cold. Difficult to distinguish from a 2006 Ford showroom car.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the turbo-charged Ford 2.5 Duratec ST five-cylinder 20v unit with Variable Valve Timing, the power output achieved is 225bhp at 6000rpm and 320Nm torque at 4000rpm. The maximum speed is 152mph while 0-60 is dispatched in just 6.8 seconds! The totally standard engine bay is spotlessly clean with factory plates, stickers and labels visible. The Ford Durashift 6-speed gearbox is magnificent to use with precise short throw changes and the sound from the five-pot turbo charged engine is awesome!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The unique 8 x 18in ST five-spoke rims with correct centre caps are unrestored with no kerb damage. Ford afficionados seeking total originality will be delighted to see the factory fitted Continental SportContact2 225/40 ZR18 tyres fitted all round. If the vehicle is to be regularly used it is recommended the tyres are replaced due to age with the originals carefully stored. The original spare saver spare wheel has never been used. The braking system with ABS and electronic brake-force distribution incorporates discs all round and provides sure footed stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 21st January 2006 by Main Dealers, TC Harrison Ford of Derby, the car was ordered new by Mr Peter Hart, a Ford Master Technician by trade. A lifelong vehicle technician in the motor trade with a huge appreciation for Fords, Mr Hart has previously owned sporting blue oval royalty to include Lotus Cortina’s, Escort RS2000’s and indeed this cars predecessor, a Mk1 Focus ST170. In the history file is the original vehicle order form and subsequent sales invoice made out to Mr Hart confirming the price paid of £18,845 less a part exchange allowance of £10,000 for his Panther Black Focus ST170 which at the time had only covered 11,600 miles! The neatly organised history file includes all the original Ford new vehicle literature as well as the separate welcome pack and special ST supplement. Ever the conscientious perfectionist, Mr Hart even printed out service and maintenance schedules. Another passion of Mr Hart was his self-restored BSA M20 motorbike that was used in World War II which he would take to shows using a small bike trailer. For this a discreet and detachable light duty tow bar was fitted. Upon his sad passing in 2017, the car was inherited by Mr Hart’s son, Darren, who has owned the car ever since. Darren has included a written account of his father’s ownership and devoted care for the car.

The Ford document wallet houses all handbooks, service book, guides and supplements along with the point-of-sale literature. Servicing was carried out by himself in his capacity as a Ford Master Technician and the cambelt was renewed in 2016 at 12,300 miles. The history folder also contains invoices and MOT certificates dating back to the first in 2009 to fully verify the mileage. Both sets of Ford keys, fobs and security tags are present and there is an original 2005/6 brochure for ‘The New Ford Focus ST’. A perfectly preserved and highly collectable Focus ST225 exactly as Ford intended.

Honda C90-G Cub

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A factory original UK Honda C90-G Cub with an incredible 193 miles from new!

MODEL HISTORY
Introduced in 1958, the Honda Cub/Super Cub has been in continuous manufacture ever since and production surpassed 100 million in 2017 making it the most produced motor vehicle in history. The idea for a new 50cc motorcycle was conceived in 1956 when Honda Motor’s Soichiro Honda and Takeo Fujisawa toured Germany and witnessed the popularity of mopeds. The requirement however for the motorcycle to succeed in the developing world was, primarily simplicity, and larger wheels than those of a moped in order to cope with badly surfaced roads, or indeed non-existent roads in rural regions. Another requirement of Takeo Fujisawa was that the bike could be ridden one handed whilst carrying a tray of soba noodles, siting that the vast numbers of soba noodle shops in Japan would no doubt want one as a delivery bike. The iconic and phenomenally successful Honda Cub series is widely credited for mobilising and in large part, revolutionising the developing world.

EQUIPMENT
Pressed steel underbone frame, 12-volt electrics, capacitor discharge ignition (CDI), polyethylene leg guard/cowling, black long seat, 3-speed clutchless transmission, fully enclosed drivetrain, horn, primary coupled kick-starter, black finish indicator housing, two adjustable mirrors, speedometer, odometer, turn signal switch, headlight switch, neutral indicator, rear footrests, helmet lock, side storage with toolkit. Dealer options; Rickman Type 23 Fairing kit, middle mount luggage rack, Oxford Essential top box.

EXTERIOR
This wonderful 1991 C90-G is finished in iconic Shuttle Blue Metallic, (Code PB121), with Cortina White leg protector faring. Having covered just 193 miles from new, this collector’s example has never been restored and still boasts first paint credentials, virtually unheard of. Markings to the front mudguard and a scratch to the lower faring are entirely forgivable and do not spoil the appearance. All metal is in remarkable shape having never been welded or repaired with the original exhaust only having microscopic pitting and the engine casing slight tarnishing. Stanley indicator lenses remain fitted and the polyethylene leg guard/cowling has no cracks. Factory decals below the seat and original stickers and warning labels will further delight originality seekers, as will the factory badges. The comfortable dual seat black seat covering is also factory fitment with no rips or tears and the toolkit is present in the side locker. All switchgear, lights and instruments are fully functional. This unspoilt C90 is deliciously retro and a fitting tribute to this Honda icon.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The air cooled 4-stroke 90cc engine develops 7.5bhp at 7500rpm enough to keep up with modern city traffic and perfect for the daily commute. The 3-speed rotary system transmission with automatic clutch is easy to use and in perfect working order. Surprisingly nippy and a lot of fun!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Steel rim/wire spoke wheels are pristine and display correct outer rim stampings and are shod in Yokohama 2.50-17 tyres. The tyres have excellent tread and should be retained but being original fitment, if regular use is intended should be changed. Leading/trailing drum brakes stop the bike quickly and safely.

HISTORY FILE
Despite many minor revisions since its launch in 1958, the Honda Cub style and ethos as a bike for the masses has remained constant, and it is no surprise that true iconic status is firmly cemented. This UK supplied C90-G Cub example was registered new on 25th June 1991 by Q.B Motorcycles to Mr J Burford. Being used to the comfort of motor vehicles his experience on his first and only motorcycle was not enjoyed and after a few short commutes the car was soon favoured once more. The bike remained tucked away in his garage for the next 19 years unused before being purchased by bike collector Mr Robin Victor who part exchanged it with Roy Jervis Motor Cycles, renowned for low mileage classic bikes. The previous third owner, Mr Cartledge, purchased it from Roy Jervis in December 2011 and only parted with it to buy a one owner 2001 Harley Davidson 1200C Sportster with 300 miles from KGF Classic Cars!

All handbooks, spare keys and manuals are included along with previous MOT certificates. The original Honda Owners Card and brochure are also present. Everything about these bikes is legendary from their go anywhere ability, phenomenal reliability and even the famously successful marketing slogan, “You meet the nicest people on a Honda”, which ran from 1963 for 12 years and is still used today as a marketing case study. An excellent example of one of the most significant motor vehicles ever created.

Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A factory original Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth with only 21,523 miles.

MODEL HISTORY
Five hundred extra special examples of the 150 mph Ford Sierra RS Cosworth went on sale in Britain on August 1st 1987. This more powerful ‘evolution’ model was introduced to allow Ford to develop the original limited production run of 5,000 needed to allow the car to be homologated for International Touring Car Racing in Group A. Aston Martin at Tickford were assigned with converting the 500 cars and in addition to the more powerful 224bhp YBD engine, (with the potential to exceed 400bhp in race trim), numerous aerodynamic features were incorporated in the bodywork. These include a 30mm lip spoiler applied directly to the rear edge of the tailgate to increase rear downforce. New and larger cooling ducts were included in the design of the front bumper for the intercooler and the front brakes, as well as an aerodynamic splitter. Ford’s intention was for every RS500 to be finished in Black but limited stock of the regular Cosworths resulted in 56 Diamond White and 52 Moonstone Blue being converted. The vehicle was only available through 90 specialist Ford RS (Rally-Sport) dealers in Britain at a cost of £19,950, a £4,000 premium over a standard RS Cosworth. (Source Ford News Release 87/76). This example is build number 140/500.

All exterior trim and lights remain free from damage as does the vulnerable front splitter. The original front screen has delaminated at the edges and there is a mark to the near side front wing. The unique silver coachline and RS500 badges applied to the front wings and tailgate are present and original. The blue Ford oval badge to the tailgate has aged. Date stampings are visible on key areas such as the inner wings and tailgate and even the discreet Ford logo can be seen on the slam panel. The underside is untouched and clean with factory markings all clearly visible. A truly incredible car in an astonishing preserved condition.

INTERIOR
Finished in Ford Roma Grey, (Code S2), the Recaro seats and carpeted door trim are in remarkable condition with no wear or discolouration and completely commensurate with a low mileage pampered example. The driver’s seat bolster still has a soft velvet feel with perfect shape and the carpets are spotless protected by Ford rubber mats. All dials and gauges operate perfectly and show healthy readings and the dashboard is immaculate having suffered no cracks or discolouration. Two small filled holes are visible in the passenger foot-well trim due to a phone cradle having been fitted. The phone kit is listed on the original Ford purchase invoice. The boot area is factory fresh with floor stickers present and the original Ford boot struts no longer hold the tailgate. A fantastic 1980’s interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Cosworth YBD-Series 2.0 litre, 16 valve twin overhead camshaft, four cylinder, fuel injected, turbocharged and intercooled engine which in road use, (as per this example), is tuned to develop 224bhp. Expect 0-60 in 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 153mph. The engine bay is incredible in its originality and condition and boasts all the correct engine and chassis identification numbers. The gear changes are solid with progressive clutch action.

Supplied new by Endeavour Motor Co Ltd on the 7th August 1987 to Mr B Blackwell, the original purchase invoice reveals a price paid £20,295 including an application of Diamond Glaze to the exterior paintwork.
