A museum worthy Ford Ka with a genuine and fully verified 189 miles from new!

Driver’s airbag, steel safety cage, front and rear energy absorbing crumple zones, side-impact door beams, Passive Anti-Theft System with immobiliser, halogen headlights, headlight height adjustment, opening rear vents, heated rear window, internally adjustable door mirrors, Cosmos analogue clock, 50:50 split back seats, door cup holders, rear cup holders, headlining storage net, glovebox, stereo cassette model 5000. Factory options; Metallic paint. Dealer options; Ford rubber overmats.

EXTERIOR
Ford Motor Company’s ‘New Edge’ design language began with the original Ka as the first production Ford to adopt the radical exterior styling mostly recognised with its use of intersecting arcs and crisp lines. This almost inconceivable Ka has covered just 189 miles from new and is finished in Ford Machine Silver, (Code A3). The bodywork and paint finish are commensurate with an example that could have quite plausibly covered its entire lifetimes mileage within just one daily commute! Unsurprisingly, this garaged Ka has none of the common bodywork issues often found and the amazing underside still displays PDI markings and factory labels to the rear beam and suspension components, long lost on most examples. All trim sections and the Torque Grey bumpers are perfect and Dagenham Motors Ford main dealer number plates, rear screen sticker and tax disc holder remain with the car. Surely amongst the best low mileage cars in existence. In fact, is this the lowest mileage example?

INTERIOR
The interior of this cossetted example is beautifully clean and free from wear. The original cascade fabric upholstery in Indigo colour scheme, (Code VG), is in showroom condition with no imperfections whatsoever. The carpets are pristine having been protected by Ford floor mats and the headlining is perfect. The steering wheel and gear knob display a total lack of wear as you would expect from an example that has had the equivalent of just six days usage based on the likely annual average mileage! The funky blob style fascia and incorporated switchgear is as new and all functions operate seamlessly including the original Model 5000 stereo cassette complete with a miserly three radio station pre-sets! Likewise, the spotless load space boasts an unmarked carpet underneath which the boot floor is as new. Clean, fresh and totally unspoilt.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The dependable and frugal 1.3 Duratec four-cylinder engine as fitted to all non-sporting Ka’s produces a power output of 70bhp and 106Nm of torque to achieve a top speed of 104mph and 0-60 in 14.1 seconds. The engine is quiet and performs faultlessly with a service carried out in November 2021 using genuine Ford parts to ensure all fluids are clean. The pristine engine bay features all factory stickers, plates, PDI markings and even fragile paper labels fully intact. The five-speed gearbox is light, precise and effortless to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The Ka seven-spoke wheels caps in perfect condition aside from a small hairline scratch to one trim remain fitted to 5x13in steel wheels and brand-new premium brand Uniroyal tyres have been fitted all-round in November 2021. Diagonally split dual line brakes with Anti-Lock assistance (ABS) bring the car up straight and steady.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 29th June 2004 by Ford Main Dealer, Dagenham Motors, the car was purchased new by a lady who very soon after purchasing the car lost confidence in driving and the car remained in her garage until 2018. Not wanting to completely draw the line under her driving career, the car was collected by a local garage and taken for MOT each year before being promptly returned to her garage. Thankfully this documented history verifies the mileage as totally genuine. In 2018 the car was discovered by a Mr Baldwin, a car collector, at which time the car had covered 179 miles and it was only upon his passing that the car entered the custody of another collector. The comprehensive MOT records date back to the very first in 2007 to the most recent carried out in November 2021, the mileage at last test being 184 miles. The vehicle was serviced in November 2021 using genuine Ford parts and the original Ford zip wallet contains the handbooks, guides and radio booklet as well as the service booklet. A history folder contains the recent service receipts and MOT history records as well as two original Ford keys. Completing the history file is an original Ka sales brochure.

Debate over the pronunciation of the name Ka has continued since launch and whether it is to be said with a long or short “a”, or with the letters pronounced separately. Even Ford’s confused press office has used all three but the official Ford stance is with a short “a”! Whichever way you may wish to say it, the first examples are now 25 years old and the humble Ford Ka represents a superb value entry into classic car ownership, even more so with this museum worthy example with just 189 miles from new!

The original two-cylinder air cooled rear mounted engine thrums along beautifully and develops 18bhp with a top speed of 59mph. The vehicle has just had a full mechanical and electrical service in November 2021. The rear engine hatch lowers to reveals a clean unmolested compartment and the original matching numbers engine. Factory stickers are present as is the Duckhams and fuel pump warning labels to the hatch lid. The 4-speed constant mesh gearbox operates perfectly but requires familiarisation to the novice classic car driver.

WHEELS, TYRES, BRAKES
The disc type steel wheels and bright hubcaps are in remarkable condition and premium Pirelli Cinturato CN54 125 SR12 tyres were fitted brand new all-round in November 2021 at great expense. The well-maintained hydraulic brakes have just had new brake shoes on all four wheels and give adequate performance compared to modern standards.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 20th September 1972, this rare UK RHD 500L was supplied by a West London Fiat Main dealer to first owner, Mr Bexnon, who is named in the original service book along with the expiry date of the generous six-month warranty! After three years the vehicle was sold to Mrs Maureen Guyton who, like all the subsequent three owners, used the car sparingly. The sizeable history file is neatly presented with invoices and previous MOT certificates as well as correspondence between owners with interesting facts and pointers about the cars history and helping to track the genuine 12,050 miles from new. An original 1972 Fiat range brochure and 500L price list reveals a new 500L would relieve you of £628.69! The handbook and service book are present and there are two original sets of keys which operate all locks.

This example will only compare vastly superior to the majority and will compliment even the best classic car collections. This is a truly special Fiat 500L.

An exceptional Seat Leon Cupra 20V T with just one owner and 8,513 miles.

EQUIPMENT
Body colour rear spoiler, front fog lamps, sports suspension, tinted glass, chromed exhaust pipe, driver and front passenger airbags, front side airbags, Electronic Differential System (EDS), Traction Control System (TCS), alarm/immobiliser with interior monitoring, Climatronic air conditioning, three spoke leather steering wheel, sports gear knob, remote central locking, electric front and rear windows, Seat Aura stereo with 6CD auto changer, bifocal mirror. Dealer options; Seat Leon over mats.

EXTERIOR
The Seat Leon Cupra 20V T was the range topping model at the time, prior to the introduction of the Cupra R, and used the hallowed Cupra branding which stands for Cup Racing. This collector quality example almost defies logic with one female Doctor owner and a genuine 8,513 miles from new. The Flash Red paintwork, (Code LP3G), is verified as factory original and boasts a deep uniform shine and high polished finished. Some very light paintwork imperfections gained while the car was in long term storage can be seen. The bodywork is exceptionally clean and all trim sections are as new. The underside displays a preserved factory finish with PDI dabs and fragile paper labels to cross members and suspension components, long lost on most examples! The supplying dealer number plates, rear screen sticker and tax discs holder remain fitted. A rare modern classic preserved in the most incredible condition.

INTERIOR
A product of the Volkswagen Group, this Seat Leon is beautifully made and with just 8,513 miles covered, the interior is justifiably described as perfect. The Geometric Grey upholstery, (Code KJ), is as new with no visible imperfections whatsoever, as are the matching door cards which display none of the common shrinkage. Seat Leon over mats have protected the carpets which remain pristine, as does the headlining. The high-quality fascia and switchgear are perfect and the leather coverings to the steering wheel and gear knob are showroom fresh. The showroom feeling even extends to the rear inner door pulls still covered in plastic wrap, a request from the original owner who never intended to have rear seat passengers! Further originality is found with the factory fitted and fully working Seat Aura stereo with 6CD auto changer. The boot area is pristine with factory build label matching that of the service book and polystyrene holder with the original jack and toolkit. It is difficult to comprehend this interior as being over twenty years old!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This hot Cupra is fitted with the turbo-charged 1.8 20 valve engine developing an impressive 180bhp and 235Nm maximum torque. A family hatchback with very notable performance sees a top speed of 142mph and 0-62mph in just 7.7 seconds, this is a very rewarding drive in a car that feels as tight and solid today as it did new in 2001. The engine bay is super-clean and displays all VIN labels, stickers and the clear Perspex cover over the chassis stamp remains intact and clear, very unusual for a V.A.G car of this era! Incredibly, even the oil filler cap still has the cellophane wrap intact! The six-speed manual gear box delivers sturdy and precise changes and suits the cars performance capabilities brilliantly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted 20-spoke 7.0J x 16” alloys wheels and centre caps are in near-perfect condition and have never been refurbished. All five tyres are the original 205/55 R16 Pirelli P6000 items which, whilst having masses of tread, must be renewed if the car is to be put into use but be sure to retain the originals for collection purposes! The spare wheel has never been touched and even has the tyre nobbles, coloured banding and the paper label are still attached. The anti-lock braking (ABS) features discs all round, ventilated to front, and has just undergone a complete overhaul after the cars long-term storage.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 15th September 2001 by Seat Main Dealer, Alexandra Bridge Cars of Southwick, this incredible Leon Cupra has covered just 8,513 miles from new with only one owner. Dr Heycock purchased the car and she returned to the supplying dealer for the first service in November 2003 at which point the car had covered 8,480 miles. Almost immediately after this and before the first MOT was due, Dr Heycock ceased driving and the car was put into dry storage where it has remained until October 2021! KGF Classic Cars were delighted to acquire the car with such amazing credentials and after long term storage a process of full recommissioning began. After initial checks, the fuel tank was drained and cleaned and all fuel lines and system flushed. A new fuel pump assembly and filter was then fitted. A replacement cambelt, water pump and auxiliary belt was fitted and a major engine service included all oils, filters and spark plugs. All rubber brake flexible hoses were renewed and the brake fluid was flushed and refilled. Front and rear brakes discs and pads have been fitted along with all ABS wheel sensors. The clutch fluid was drained, flushed and refilled. A brand-new battery fired the car into life and it is now looking fresh-faced and performing perfectly after an eighteen-year slumber ready for its first ever MOT test which has now been carried out. The history file consists of the Seat wallet holding the full book pack with guides and dealership point of sale literature as well as the service book and an original Leon range sales brochure. The original blue V5 registration document and full documented recommissioning completes the history file of this very special and wonderfully preserved modern classic hot-hatch.
