GLXi specification; Halogen front fog lamps, variable interval windscreen wipers, 5-spoke alloy wheels, bodyside mouldings, tilt sunroof, front mudflaps, stereo radio/cassette player, tachometer, interior boot light/torch, contoured seats in polyester trim, knitted fabric interior door trim, cut pile velour carpet, rubber floor mats, bonnet sound proofing, document pockets, split folding rear seats.

EXTERIOR
This incredible and original Skoda Favorit is an extremely rare survivor and a true credit to its one owner from new. Finished in factory Swan White, (Code 1061), the paintwork presents in fabulous condition with a bright uniform shine throughout. All bodywork panels are arrow straight and the underside, sills and wheel arches are structurally perfect. Such is the factory originality of this 13,835 mile example that Skoda afficionados will notice small patches of dark grey primer at each end of the sills and within the wheel tubs where the car would have been secured to the production line during painting leaving these areas unfinished! All trim, etched glass and light fittings are perfect aside from a small crack to the front bumper corner and the supplying Skoda Main Dealer number plates and rear screen sticker remain fitted. Quite possibly the best surviving Skoda Favorit to be found.

INTERIOR
This top of the range GLXi interior features plush contoured seats in polyester trim which are in pristine condition commensurate with the 13,835 miles covered. Such remarkable preservation extends to the immaculate trim sections and fabrics with only very light markings to the carpet in the driver’s footwell. The delightfully robust and utilitarian dashboard and switchgear is typical of Skoda’s before Volkswagen involvement of which the Favorit was the last. All equipment and controls operate perfectly including the factory fitted Blaupunkt Boston CC20 stereo. The luggage area is spotless and even the GLXi standard boot torch remains in place. Perfect modern classic family motoring for those who dare to be different!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The front mounted four-cylinder engine was a significant departure from Skoda’s traditional rear mounted engine fitted to the Favorit’s predecessors, the 105/120 Estelle and Rapid range. The 1289cc unit features Bosch Mono Motronic fuel injection and produces 54bhp and 94Nm of torque to achieve a top speed of 84mph and 0-62mph in 17 seconds. The engine bay is spotlessly clean with factory plates, chassis number stamp, PDI dabs and stickers all present and undamaged. Incredibly even the paint code label remains attached to the bulkhead which is virtually unheard of! Likewise, the common areas prone to water retention and corrosion are absolutely perfect in structure. The sturdy 5-speed gearbox is superb in operation.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This exceptional example has factory fitted 13” alloy wheels which are standard on the GLXi model. The wheels are in amazing unrestored condition with clearly defined part number stampings and perfect Skoda centre caps. Factory fitted 165/70 R13 Barum OR52 all-weather tyres are a rare sight on a UK car as UK customers were offered an upgrade to a premium brand Goodyear tyre alternative which most buyers opted for. On grounds of age, the tyres should be replaced if the car is to be used for anything other than display/show purposes. The servo assisted braking system is factory standard and stops the car as it should.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Skoda Main Dealer Main Dealer, Welham Green Cars of Hertfordshire, the car was registered on the 1st August 1993 to the first and only keeper, Mrs Riddle. Purchase documentation confirms the price paid of £6,400. The history file includes service receipts dating back to the first in 1994 when the car had covered just 599 miles as well as every single MOT certificate for each year without fail since the very first in 1996! The original Skoda document wallet holds all handbooks, guides and dealership literature including the service book as well as both sets of keys. HISTORY FILE
A car boasting just two owners from new, 64,577 miles and the most incredible history file. Built in November 1986 at the Cologne Plant in Germany, this 2.8 Injection Special was registered new on 25th February 1987 by Ford Main Dealer, Currie Motors London Ltd. Purchased new by a Mr Butler, the car became an instant ‘pride of joy’ affair and a detailed letter in the history file speaks of his family’s love for the car including trips in it to Austria and the South of France. Mr Butler goes on to recall that in 1989 the cars interior and wheels were stolen when the one and only time he forgot to lock the car in the garage. He was awoken in the early hours by the local constabulary to tell him of the missing items. The car was then taken to the supplying dealer, Currie Motors for repair work to be undertaken where Mr Butler learned that on the same night a C-registration Capri had also suffered at the hands of the thieves but had been written off by the insurance company due to being older and of higher mileage. A comprehensive invoice from Currie Motors dated October 1989 totals £4,247.29 in repairs and understandably there is a further Currie Motors invoice where Mr Butler ordered a Cobra Ultrasonic alarm! The car then became the family’s second car and was used only for holidays and weekends until eventually in 2005 the difficult decision to sell the Capri was made.

Mr O’Neill purchased the car in May 2005 and became the second and only other keeper who was fortunate enough to have a letter from the original owner giving him a potted history of the car since it was new. The colossal history file is simply amazing and consists of two huge folders with all paperwork in chronological order from new. All Ford Main Dealer and specialist service invoices have been kept dating back to the first service in December 1987 when the car was 10 months old. There is also every single MOT certificate with checklist every year without exception right back to the very first in 1990! Two separate diaries are highly detailed, one for servicing and one for routine maintenance and there is even every tax disc from 1990 to 2014 when they were discontinued. The most recent service was carried out at 64,167 miles. The original book pack contains all handbooks, operating guides and service book containing all the stamped entries as well a 3 sets of keys and an original sales brochure for the February 1987 Ford Range.

A cosseted and beautifully presented example of this British motoring legend.

A wonderfully clean interior is commensurate with the mere 20,050 miles covered. The original black vinyl seats are in pristine order as is the carpeted side walls and rubber floor covering which is protected by expensive woven over mats. The inner roof lining, door cards and padded dash are perfect and the original tiger maple wood grain fascia is as new. Subtle modifications include the quality leather rimmed steering wheel and wooden gear knob and all functions and control operate perfectly including the period radio and clock. The factory Volkswagenwerk West Germany build and emissions labels remain in the driver’s door aperture. The front luggage area with cardboard liner is clean and retains original stickers to the washer bottle, paint code label and front panel body plate. A beautifully presented and reserved interior.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The air-cooled rear mounted horizontally opposed engine produces 48bhp from its 1584cc displacement enabling a top speed of 80mph. The electronic fuel injection fitted as standard enables wonderfully smooth performance and 30mpg. The fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox works perfectly. The engine bay is very clean and retains a clearly legible engine stamp to confirm this as the factory fitted unit. Aside from the replacement exhaust, the standard engine set up remains in place and the engine and hatch cover underside still have factory labels attached.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Replacement chromed Beetle wheels and hubcaps look amazing with only very light markings and some tarnishing noticeable to one wheel cap. Brand new Goodyear EfficientGrip 185/65 R15 tyres were fitted in May 2022 and have covered zero miles. Incredibly, the spare wheel remains shod in the factory spare whitewall tyre which has never been used and still retains coloured banding and rubber nobbles! Dual circuit drums front and rear have undergone an overhaul in May 2022 to include the master cylinder and are perfect in operation.

HISTORY FILE
Built in West Germany in post August 1979, this US specification model 1303 remained in its original destination country for just over a year before being shipped to the UK in February 1981 where the car was UK registered and has remained ever since. The engine block number and chassis stamp beneath the rear seat verify this as a 1979 Beetle Cabriolet and the original matching chassis tag is still affixed to the dash rail. The previous long-term owner and member of the VW Cabriolet Owners Club GB bought this Beetle from a family friend in 2005 who had themselves purchased the car in the 1990’s. The history file contains MOT certificates dating back to 1984 as well as service and maintenance invoices. Original literature including handbooks and two sets of keys are present. This outstanding low-mileage example presents incredibly well and drives just as good!

Peugeot 306 Rallye

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

The last ever registered Peugeot 306 Rallye with only 309 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Body colour sports bumpers, side impact beams, halogen headlamps, body coloured door mirrors, rear spoiler, wide bodyside mouldings, chrome exhaust extension, tinted glass, power steering, height adjustable drivers seat, pretentioned front seat belts with weblocks, drivers airbag, headlight height adjust, Clarion radio/cassette player with remote steering column control, remote central locking, transponder engine immobiliser, digital clock, remote petrol cap release, map reading light. Dealer Options; Clarion 6-disc autochanger, Rallye carpet mats.

EXTERIOR
Every inch a drivers, car this limited edition Peugeot 306 Rallye is finished in solid Bianca White and the factory applied paint throughout is impeccable with a stunning glossy finish. Only 200 were finished in this striking colour making the deliciously retro Rallye decals contrast vibrantly, especially after being replaced due to slight fading with genuine items from Peugeot, such was the fastidious nature of the former enthusiast keeper. All green tint Sekurit glass has the Peugeot logo and along with all other trim, light clusters and rubbers are in perfect condition. Commensurate with the astonishingly low 309 miles covered the underside and wheel arch apertures are remarkable and worthy of any showmanship. A delectably de-frilled, lighter and rarer version of the 306 GTi-6 this Rallye is very special.

INTERIOR
Finished with Phoenix Cloth trim the sparse interior not only presents like a new car but still retains a familiar new car smell! With less sound deadening, no fog lights and no electric windows or mirrors, this stripped out hot hatch weighs just 1163kg, 52kg less than the GTi-6, and the primary focus is driver thrills. All gauges, controls and electrics function including the Clarion radio/cassette with optional 6-disc player installed in the boot. Genuine Peugeot Rallye floor mats are fitted, (the driver’s side with an additional carpet mat protecting the original), and a Peugeot seat cover is included. The boot area along with the rest of the car is untouched.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
It may have the allure but it really is the performance that is most impressive about the Peugeot 306 Rallye. The Gruff metallic exhaust howl from the XU 2.0 litre engine develops 167bhp, enough to sprint from 0-60mph in 7.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 137mph. The engine bay presents fabulously with every sticker, label and stamp factory correct. The factory oil filter is still wrapped in its paper wrapper but the car has had oil changes and a cambelt change. The 6-speed transmission and clutch action works precisely.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Cyclone alloy wheels are unmarked and shod in factory specified Pirelli P6000 195/55 R15 tyres. These were changed due to flat spots on the originals but all four replacements were sourced at great expense and are correctly dated. The braking system features ABS with discs all-round to offer straight and strong stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
This limited edition Peugeot 306 Rallye is one of just 500 made and is the last one ever registered on the 12th May 2000. Well known to Peugeot enthusiasts and recognised by many car fanatics due to the numerous magazine features, all included in the history file. The cars initial future was uncertain after Peugeot UK repossessed an entire dealers stock and placed it all into storage at GEFCO UK Ltd in Corby where the cars stood unused for several years. When Peugeot announced the closure of its plant at Ryton, near Coventry, the cars were sold off and this particular example was purchased by John Mann on the 8th October 2007 who immediately advertised it on the Peugeot 306 GTi-6 & Rallye forum where is was snapped up by previous owner and 306 Rallye Registrar, Carl Chambers. Carl purchased the car with 97 miles on the clock and has owned it ever since. Rarely does it leave his side other than being trailered to Peugeot events, motor shows and even Peugeot UK has the car on display at their head office!

Supplied with all handbooks, brochures, spare keys and magazines featuring the car, this really is an unrepeatable opportunity and KGF Classic Cars are honoured to be a part of the cars history and helping it to secure a new appreciative owner.

HISTORY FILE
An amazing history awaits presentation to the new owner of this special car. Built at Fords Advanced Vehicle Operations factory in Aveley in March 1973 this vehicle was registered on the 1st May 1973 to the Ford Motor Company, Warley, Essex, CM13 3BW. Archived AVO records provided by William Arnold, the RS Owners Club Mk1 RS1600 Registrar, reveal this car was owned by Ford until 22nd April 1974. During this time the car was used for display purposes. One such display was the Ford Summer Fair held at Bramcote in July 1973 where the F.A.V.O had a marquee to display a selection of Escort Mexico’s and RS1600’s under the heading of Ford Rallye Sport Scene. XWC189L was one of five cars on show next to a Mexico Group One Race Car and even Roger Clarks Rally Car!

This car has a long standing history with the AVO Owners Club and even features in the current AVO Owners Club 2022 Calendar. The current paid member, Mr Spurrier, purchased the car in June 2013 and embarked on a comprehensive restoration which can be enjoyed Here. Masses of invoices detail the expenditure and leave no stone unturned and combined with thousands of photos on a memory stick will absolutely reassure the next owner. All handbooks, spare keys and even an identical Corgi Vanguards Limited Edition model of the identical car is included! A rare opportunity.
