Yamaha TZR50 WGP 50th Anniversary Special Edition Recreation

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A supersport Yamaha TZR50 WGP 50th Anniversary Special Edition recreation.

MODEL HISTORY
To celebrate Yamaha’s 50 years of success in Grand Prix racing, Yamaha created a special edition 50th Anniversary design, based on the red, white and black colour scheme featured on its MotoGP-winning factory bikes. This unique paint was offered for the Yamaha TZR50 along with the Yamaha YZF-R1 1000, YZF-R6 600, YZF-R125, FZ8, and Aerox WGP 50th Anniversary models. This example pays homage to that rare bike.

EQUIPMENT
R-series bodywork in dynamic MotoGP styling, full front faring incorporating windscreen, sculptured side faring, lightweight five twin-spoke alloy wheels, twin headlamps with integrated flashers, integrated seat-tank unit, combined rear wheel hugger and chain guard, black Supersport frame, twin mirrors, front and rear disc brakes, pillion seat with solid rear hand grip, pillion rider foot pegs, side stand, aviation style fuel cap, electronic instrument panel, analogue tachometer, digital speedometer, 13.8 litre fuel tank, CDI with electric starter, engine cut off switch, coolant and oil warning light, neutral indicator, odometer. Modifications; Full recreation of 2011/2012 Yamaha 50th Anniversary model, engine rebuild with 70cc barrel kit and new carburettor.

EXTERIOR
Meticulously built as a recreation of the 2011/2012 Special Edition 50th Anniversary TZR50 which celebrated Yamaha sending its first ever GP riders to compete in the World Championships, this example is finished in the Red, White and Black colour scheme featured on its MotoGP-winning factory bikes. The genuine factory faring panels have been professionally painted in the correct metallic Pearl White with a Racing Red new-old-stock front guard. A brand-new red/black decal kit is fitted along with a new-old-stock Yamaha 50th Anniversary tank badge to fully complete this phenomenal recreation. All mirrors, light clusters, rubbers and other trim are fully intact and LCD display is perfect. The fox-eye headlights are crystal clear and lockable sculptured thin racing seat has a very small repair patch to the lower front edge. Superbly executed, this bike looks simply spectacular.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original liquid-cooled 50cc unit has been professionally rebuilt using a quality 70cc barrel kit with a new carburettor jetted to suit the increase in capacity. The fully documented works undertaken are vastly detailed with invoices and include a comprehensive set of running in instructions. A key element of the larger 70cc barrel conversion was the removal of the oil pump and tank due to the original unit being too small to suit the larger capacity, a failing on most rebuilds. The oil supply requirements are now catered for by a fuel ratio of 20:1 pre-mix and a running period of 500 miles not exceeding 5000rpm followed by a gradual increase in rpm for a further 100 miles before using full throttle is required. The bike starts immediately and revs cleanly having covered just 25 miles since all works and will guarantee the rider immense fun when fully bedded in! The engine and all ancillaries are very clean and the 6-speed one down five up gearbox performs perfectly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The racy 17in five twin-spoke alloy wheels in metallic high fleck silver are in pristine fully refurbished order with no damage. Brand new 100/80-17 front and 130/70-17 rear tyres have covered just 25miles and still have the coloured banding and tyre nobbles! The braking system features a 280mm front disc and 220mm rear disc to offer tremendous stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 1st May 2006, this TRZ50 was supplied from the factory in Grey with Grey two-tone decals. In February 2021 and after extensive searches, the bike was purchased by Mr Moore, a Yamaha collector and restorer of the highest standing whereby his collection of bikes and passion for the marque are very highly regarded. The project to recreate a bike in honour of the 2011/2012 Special Edition 50th Anniversary began and eighteen months later the result is marvellous. Thankfully the love of creating the bike softened the final tally up of costs which turned out to be far in excess of the asking price mainly due to the outsourcing of vital works such as the professional paintwork and the fully documented engine rebuild. Finding a good TZR50 let alone the 50th Anniversary model is virtually impossible and this example could be this missing piece in the iconic R-series line-up!

Little introduction is needed for the engineering wonderment that is Honda’s legendary naturally aspirated engines and their phenomenal capabilities and the chain driven K20Z4 i-VTEC in this FN2 Civic remains in factory standard form. From just a 2.0 litre powerplant, Honda engineers have developed an incredible 198bhp with the VTEC system engaging at 5400rpm and maximum power output at an awesome 8200rpm! A top speed of 146mph along with 0-62mph in just 6.6 seconds is enough to embarrass many a performance car with much larger six-cylinder engines. HISTORY FILE
Manufactured in Swindon, England, this is build number R-09630 and the car was first registered on the 24th October 2007. Supplied as a UK car by Main Dealer, Derek Warwick Honda in Jersey, this example has covered just 19,740 miles in the hands of enthusiast Father and Son owners from new. Mr Haslam Senior purchased the car brand new after being so impressed with his three-year-old 12,000-mile EP3 Civic Type R so offered it as part exchange. A copy of the new vehicle order form confirms the price paid of £18,139 for what would be Mr Haslam’s only new car which he chose in Milano Red because it was the launch colour for the FN2 Type R. Upon retirement he purchased a holiday apartment in Portugal and drove his hot hatch on an extended road trip to his home near Lisbon. Upon arrival he decided to pass the car to his son and daughter-in-law who flew out to Portugal and drove the car back through Spain, France and Belgium. Clearly a family of Honda enthusiasts, the car replaced his daughter-in-laws EP3 Civic Type R and sat in the double garage alongside his sons Honda S2000!

All handbooks, manuals and dealership point of sale literature is included in the leather document wallet and there are two original Honda remote keys with code tags and dealer fob. The original service book displays eight stamped entries from Honda Main Dealers and marque specialists, the most recent being in 2021 with less than 300 miles covered since. A further history folder contains invoices and MOT certificates. Completing the history file is an original Honda Type R range brochure and separate price and options booklet. Credentials of just 19,740 miles and two owners make this preserved example difficult to surpass.

In stark contrast and ridiculed as a result, are the Fiat Punto projector headlamps and Fiat Coupe circular rear lights embellished with chrome rings!

Purchasing the Rover Group for a notional sum of £10 in May 2000 which then followed in the five executives involved taking £42m in pay, pensions and fast cars, before it collapsed in April 2005. Then purchased by serial car collector, Colin Faulkner via the Wyles Hardy & Co MG Sport & Racing liquidation sale when the car had covered just 2,879 miles. His other icons include the AC Cobra, Morgan V8 and Porsche 911 Turbo. In July 2008 the car was then sold to Brian Stymest who was adamant his chosen MG XPower must be the more powerful SV-R and a complete original factory built car. With assistance from the MG SV Owners Club this prime example was purchased and remained in his care for 12 years before being sold to his son-in-law in November 2020. The MG RV8 was always destined to become a classic with just 1983 units made reviving a golden motoring repute and celebrating thirty years after the birth of the legendary MGB. This exceptional example spent eleven years with its sole Japanese owner who purchased the car new in 1995. Manufactured in June 1995, the vehicle was repatriated in 2006 with all importation documents and UK registration completed. The car was sold by a Hyundai Main Dealer, T. W. White & Sons of Weybridge, who imported the car from Japan. The first UK buyer was a Mr Maurice Amdur who is non other than a Physic and Clairvoyant to the Stars and for whom a quick search engine explore will reveals his close connection with countless A-List celebrities for many years! Mr Amdur never registered the car in his name and he owned for just two weeks. KGF Classic Cars contacted him to ask why he sold it so soon and he kindly replied in writing stating that he found himself too tall for the car and that it was an excellent car. He went on to say he believes it to be a mistake that he sold it and he would happily speak to a new owner to offer guidance on their future together! The car was subsequently sold to the only UK registered owner, Mr Noel, who has owned it since.

There is paperwork from when the car was in Japan with key information such as dates and mileage translated and there is also a photograph of the original speedometer clock from when the car left Japan displaying 669km/415 miles. The current odometer reads 404 miles totalling 820 miles from new! In August 2022 the car was subject to a full inspection, recommission and major service by classic cars specialists and is now ready to enjoy or preserve as the new owner wishes. Both sets of keys and code tags are present along with the book pack including the service book. An MG RV8 ‘The Marque has returned’ sales brochure is included and cherished registration E3MGR remains with the car. This stunning example is a must for anyone seeking a rare and collectors quality example of MG motoring history.

Not meeting the usual KGF Classic Cars stock profile due to the personalisation but not detracting from the cars overall excellent attributes, we are offering this example for sale on a part exchange to clear basis. The car looks superb and performs as such and represents a fantastic useable example and one which could be returned to standard and made highly desirable to follow the path of previous Ford icons such as the Fiesta Supersport and XR2. Alternatively, simply enjoy it as it is! All servicing is up to date and the car is requiring nothing for immediate enjoyment. Full inspection and test drive is welcome.

Supplied new on 1st August 1990 by Volkswagen Main Dealers, Wolfe Garage of Kent, this superb Richard Holdsworth conversion has been cherished from new with a genuine 35,633 miles and huge supporting history file. Mr Dancy being the first keeper, a new vehicle order form and sales invoice outlines a purchase price of £16,288.33 and the original PDI sheet from Wolfe Garage remains. Throughout long-term family ownership, the vehicle was passed to his wife and then daughter who owned it until 2015. KGF Classic Cars at this point purchased the vehicle from her directly whereby it was sold to a loyal customer and serial car collector who has owned it ever since. Affectionately given the name Doris by his family, there have been leisure trips to the seaside but having now acquired three miniature Sausage Dogs, the decision to let Doris go rather than subject her to the new pack of dogs seems a considerate one! There is even a letter in the history file from the current owner to the next prospective custodian!

The colossal history file is quite simply incredible and thorough perusal would consume hours! All Volkswagen handbooks and guides are in the original V.A.G plastic wallet and the service record displays stamped entries up to August 2021. Absolutely all equipment instructions and guides have been kept to ensure working knowledge of every facility can be upheld. A huge collection of invoices and receipts are accompanied by every MOT certificate from three years old to fully warrant the mileage. Original Richard Holdsworth sales brochures and awning supplement complete the history file for this very special example only with the spare key and even many old tax discs! This example is guaranteed to attract appreciation from enthusiasts and collectors wanting the best on offer.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 1st September 2008 by Main Dealers, Brooklyn Ford of Kidderminster, this prime ST500 has covered a low and verified 27,424 miles from new. The first keeper owned the car for 11 months when it was then sold as an Approved Used Ford by Main Dealer, Dees Wimbledon, to a lady who part exchanged her Fiesta Zetec S. Ownership has since passed to her husband and then in 2016 to the previous owner who is a family friend. He bought the car having known it since it was 11 months old and safe in the knowledge of how well it had been cared for and that it had never been driven hard, the fate of many ST Fiesta’s! A desire to create a car worthy of concours competitions whilst retaining originality led to countless weekends lost to painstaking detailing as well as refurbishment and replacement of small underside components. A huge catalogued file of parts receipts evidences the extensive sourcing of genuine Ford parts and alludes to the no expense spared and no compromise mentality directed at the project. All fluids and servicing were undertaken at the time. The result is simply astonishing, a car that drives as good as it looks.

The Ford zip up document wallet houses the original handbook and service book. Further invoices and MOT certificates date back to the first in 2011 are kept along with two Ford keys and an original Fiesta Range brochure. Representing the next generation of collectable fast Fords, it is virtually impossible to fault this car.

HISTORY FILE
With only around 2,500 Mk2 Ford Mexico’s made, (source Ford RS Owners Club), this car represents a very rare breed! Positioned awkwardly in price and specification between a 1600 Sport and an RS2000 when new the Mexico had a very short production run and therefore is now a highly sought after model amongst collectors. This car is one of just two known to the RS Owners Club finished in Black. Built in November 1976 and registered February 1977 the car had a genuine Black Ford Mexico Service Shell supplied by the Ford Saarlouis plant in 1979. The original shell finished in Signal Green was damaged. Not recorded but noted by the unique Build Plate, the history and authenticity of this car can be validated by the RS Owners Club. Last sold by KGF Classic Cars in 2017 the previous owner then went to great lengths to track down the original first keeper, Jeremy Rose, and amazingly did so, met up with him and shared fascinating information. There are now photos of the car brand new and a first-hand account of the early history. This fascinating tale is also documented in the February 2020 magazine, Classic & Sports Car. Not only this, but the previous owner also contacted Geoff Fletcher, a talented RS specialist and instrumental in the restoration of the car, to carry out some recent works. An incredible history file neatly and chronologically ordered packed with invoices, photo albums and magazine features will amaze the next custodian. Furthermore, the car has been owned by respected members of the RS community who performed various roles for the RS Owners Club to offer absolute reassurance for the next Ford Blue Oval fan. If you should miss out on this formidable car again, fear not, there is an actual Corgi Vanguards 1:43 die-cast model to buy!
