The body panels are straight and in excellent condition. The painted bumpers are in superb order and all glass, lights and trim fully intact with just some light pitting to the driver’s door handle. Having spent the majority of its life in a dry climate with salt free roads, this delightful bus is preserved in superb order.

INTERIOR
An ingenious and hugely practical interior is revealed upon opening the wide front 90-degree cab doors and huge slide loading door. The neatly designed and well thought out passenger compartment will comfortably seat 6 occupants with masses of leg and head room, whilst leaving the large roof high luggage compartment unimpeded. The cabin space offers space for three further occupants making this a hugely versatile 9-seater with seat belts. The factory build plates remain affixed to the driver’s door shut. The handsome head liner is clean and has a handful of very small holes/slits and the safety padded rear cab wall has some wear. All controls and functions operate well. With plenty of room for friends and family, this is the ultimate recreational classic or basis for a camper conversion.

Nissan Sunny GTI-R GNN14

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

One of just 103 UK RHD cars, a bog-standard Nissan Sunny GTI-R GNN14.

MODEL HISTORY
Following the introduction on the N14 generation of Sunny in the early 1990’s, Nissan turned its attention to Motorsport with the hope of injecting some desirability and excitement into the brand. The Nissan Sunny/Pulsar GTI-R was developed under model name GNN14 and after producing the minimum 5000 road cars required for Group A homologation (just before the production requirement was lowered to 2500 units), Nissan entered the car in the Group A category of the FIA World Rally Championship as a “Works” factory team under Nissan Motorsport Europe. Much tribulation was caused from the unrealistic immediate success expected by head office which was not forthcoming, and Nissan completely abandoned the GTI-R campaign in 1992 after competing in only nine rallies. Of the road going cars, just 771 Sunny GTI-R’s were produced of which only 103 were in right-hand drive with only 27 made in Red.

EQUIPMENT
Performance tuned chassis, body-coloured sports bumpers, sleek cooling ducts in bonnet, hood air intake, large tailgate spoiler, colour coded side skirts, wheel arch extensions, mud flaps, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), ATTESA (Advanced Total Traction Engineering System All-Terrain) 4WD system, LSD (Limited Slip Differential), oil temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge, turbo boost gauge, 9000rpm tachometer, sports seats, power windows, auto door lock, power mirrors, 2 speakers, digital clock. Factory options; Nissan stereo/cassette. Dealer accessories; Tailored Nissan floor mats.

EXTERIOR
This amazing example finished in Red, (Code AJ4), is preserved in superb condition. The paint finish is fantastic with a deep consistent shine and all factory panels are straight with uniform gaps. Very few tiny touched in frontal stone chips are visible. Preserved sporting trim sections, light fitments and all factory glass is fully intact with Nissan etching and labels. Wheel arch apertures and door shuts are very clean. Some of the easily identifiable exterior features to denote a UK RHD Sunny include the boot lid surround to accommodate a UK numberplate as well as non-colour coded door mirrors. Virtually impossible to find in this unspoiled state, this super rare road going rally car is a serious performance machine and one for the WRC fanatic!

INTERIOR
To climb inside the interior of this wonderfully kept example is sheer delight in both condition and the car unspoilt state. Precisely as it left the factory, there has been no modification whatsoever. The sports velour seats in GTi Black, (Code G), are in superb order with firm bolster retaining correct shape. Matching door cards are undamaged and grey tufted carpets are still protected by tailored Nissan floor mats. Some of the interior features to denote a UK RHD Sunny include speedometer reading in KM and miles, boost and oil pressure gauges reading in PSI not Bar, digital clock below the tachometer and importantly there is no umbrella holder which is correct. All functions, controls and gauges operate perfectly including the original Nissan stereo. The boot area is pristine the parcel shelf and carpet intact. Full wheel changing equipment is present as is the original toolkit. Wonderfully unspoilt.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Producing nearly double the horsepower from the next model down in the N14 line up, this GTI-R used the SR20DET engine with T3 Garret Turbo and massive 350mm x 295mm x 60mm intercooler. With full-time ATTESA 4WD, blistering performance from the 217bhp allows a top speed of 144mph and 0-62mph in just 5.4 seconds, 0.2 seconds quicker than an Escort Cosworth! The spotlessly clean and totally standard engine bay displays factory plates, stickers, under-bonnet labels and panel stampings. The five-speed gearbox is light and has the sturdy sporting feel. The perfect opportunity to experience an unmolested Sunny GTi-R performing at its absolute best.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 6 JJ 14 alloys wheels are in pristine condition and all four road wheels wear premium quality Bridgestone Pilot HX 195/60 R14 tyres with masses of tread. Originality seekers will be pleased to see the factory Bridgestone Tracompa-2 tyre fitted to the space saver spare wheel. The 2-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) incorporates ventilated discs to the front and solid rear discs to harness the awesome power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 25th November 1992 and supplied by Landes Du Marche Garage in Guernsey, this amazing Sunny GTI-R has covered just 61,274 miles from new. As denoted by the chassis number, this example is a Phase B Series 1 car and the 18-digit model number designates region letter E for Europe B (England, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta). The model number allows easy decoding of the cars data to fully verify this as a genuine Sunny GTI-R. Of the 103 RHD cars produced, just 27 were made in Red.

A comprehensive service history accompanies this fascinating rare car with the original service booklet and filed invoices evidencing 27 services, the majority of which were carried out at Nissan Main Dealers. The car has covered less than 300 miles since last service and the large history folder holds Nissan Dealer and specialist service invoices and comprehensive MOT records. The full book pack and even the original PDI sheet are held in the Nissan document wallet. An exceptionally rare performance machine just as Nissan intended it to be. Awesome.

EQUIPMENT
All steel delivery vehicle of unitary construction, hinged cab doors, anti-burst locks, hinged tailboard, zebra-zoned toughened windscreen, safety glass windows, chromium plated front bumper and rear quarter bumpers, chromium plated hub caps, driver and passenger door mirrors, rear load area tonneau, hardwood load area edge protection strips, driver and passenger seats, twin sun visors, fresh air heater with adjustable vents, vinyl trimmed door panels, hazard warning lamps, ashtray. Dealer fitted accessories; Towbar with single electric socket, Line-X coating.

EXTERIOR
A commercial vehicle from British Leyland still in existence almost 50 years after being built, this incredibly rare Morris Marina 10 cwt pick-up is simply remarkable. Sourced from a fascinating private collection which included over 100 vehicles and no less than 40 Morris Marina’s, mostly commercials, this 1975 10 cwt pick-up is presented beautifully in Mineral Blue. The pick-up variant came only in one trim level which included all the extra equipment that was featured on the optional Deluxe Van model. This included chrome bumpers, passenger seat and sun visor and a heater. This restored example looks incredible with a bright uniform paint finish with only minor imperfections visible upon close inspection, commensurate with an older restoration. The chrome work is bright with only light tarnishing and genuine Lucas headlamps are fitted. The hardwood finishing to the load area is perfect as is the tonneau cover and lashing hooks. The ideal dare to be different classic commercial and a dream promotional vehicle!

INTERIOR
Revert back to far a simpler era of motoring whereby manufacturers were even meaner to commercial vehicle drivers and the luxuries of a passenger seat and heater were factory cost options in many cases! Indeed, the Marina Van buyer had to stretch to the Deluxe model for such extravagance, which thankfully the pick-up had as standard along with other Deluxe features. The seats were professionally retrimmed at the time of restoration in plush light navy with piping and remain in superb condition. In fact, most of the interior was professionally reworked to include new headlining and refurbished dashboard. An innovative product called Line-X coating was used on the cab floor and load area floor and sides, the huge benefits of which are very durable protection against usage wear and the elements, a superb neat finish and better soundproofing. The ethos of everything you need and nothing else follows with the dashboard sparsely equipped. A wonderful piece of usable and practical nostalgia for many!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A 1275cc A-Series engine offers absolute mechanical simplicity and a plethora of parts availability, this pick-up is as easy to run and maintain as was the intention when new with power output quoted at 57bhp. The engine starts at the flick of the key and runs beautifully. The humble A-series looks slightly lost in the capacious engine bay but both the engine and ancillaries are beautifully clean as are the spotless inner wings and under bonnet paintwork. The engine has had a complete overhaul with hardened exhaust valve seats and bronze valve guides to run on unleaded. The four-speed gearbox with full synchromesh operates perfectly and this Marina pick-up certainly drives as good as it looks!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Correct heavy duty pressed-steel disc wheels are immaculate and painted in ivory with the original chromium hubcaps in superb condition. Matching Goodyear GT2 tyres have masses of tread and are fitted to all five wheels including the spare. The standard braking system is well maintained and incorporates servo assistance and 9in drums all-round.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 3rd February 1975, the Austin Morris Passport to Service booklet records the supplying dealer as High Street Garage in Corsham and first registered keeper a firm called Pickwick Motor Works. In 2014 the pick-up was purchased by a Mr Page where it joined what is most likely the largest collection of Morris Marina’s in existence, most of which were Marina commercials. The collection had amassed to over 100 vehicles, 40 of which were Marina’s, and still to this day includes the famous Ford Capri 2.0S and Daimler Sovereign 4.2 Series III from the iconic TV show, Minder.

In 2007 a classic car restoration specialist company were on the lookout for a vehicle to restore and promote their business. The Austin A35 and Mini Van were considered but having spotted this Marina pick-up and deciding it would be better suited to carrying larger body panels, it was purchased and the project began. A full strip down and restoration began where they were pleasantly surprised at just how good shape the vehicle was in. Following the full strip down with engine and gearbox out, the rebuild began including a professional repaint in Mineral instead of the Grey. No expense was spared and the process has been documented in detail including a total of 453.5 hours in labour alone! Furthermore, there are magazine features including Classic Van and pick-up as well as online features detailing the restoration. The history file is complete with the feature magazines, an original sales brochure and parts catalogue as well as the Passport to Service booklet, owner’s manual and dealer directory. An almost inconceivable survivor against the odds, this classic commercial is simply marvellous and one of the best!
