EQUIPMENT
Body side mouldings, high fashion Oasis side decals, tinted glass, security window etching, halogen headlamps, tilt/slide sunroof with twin sun blinds, side impact beams, rigid safety cell with front and rear crumple zones, front seatbelt pre-tensioners, computer padlock engine immobiliser, security window etching. Dealer Accessories: Mud flaps, tailored carpet mat set, Boot tray liner, Renault Pioneer stereo CD player with detachable security panel.

EXTERIOR
It is only on a very rare occasion that such a beautifully cherished and immaculate mass-produced car is found, and this Mk1 Renault Clio fits this narrative perfectly. Finished in factory original Glacier White, (Code 389), the paint finish is simply incredible with a beautiful uniform shine throughout and the original panels are pin straight. Having been garage stored from new and truly cherished throughout the mere 5,665 miles covered, the underside is incredible with factory wax and markings still visible, and shock absorber labels intact. The wheel arch apertures are spotless. The windscreen has a small chip in it. All trim is unmarked and originality seekers will be pleased to see the supplying Renault dealer number plates, rear screen sticker and original Oasis side decals. Removable Festival of the Unexceptional window stickers are also attached. An astonishing example throughout.

INTERIOR
It is difficult to detect any aspect of this typically French sumptuous interior that cannot be described as showroom. The incredibly comfortable ‘Connemara’ velour upholstery, (Code 0J), is virtually perfect with no visible wear or markings to the seats and matching door cards. The interior plastics, fascia and trim are as new and items such as the steering wheel display prominent veins found only on very low mileage cars. Even the delicate twin sunroof blinds are fully intact! The spotless boot area contains the wheel brace clipped to the side wall and further signs of conscientious ownership is apparent in the protective carpet mats and boot tray liner over the pristine boot carpet. An interior that is difficult to distinguish from a 1996 showroom example!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The frugal 1149cc four-cylinder petrol engine develops 60bhp and 93Nm of torque to achieve a top speed of 100mph and 0-62mph in 13.5 seconds. The engine bay is spotlessly clean for show exhibiting and factory stickers and labels remain to the bonnet underside and identity plates and panel stamps are untouched. The vehicle performs impeccably, and the 5-speed gearbox is tight and precise.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The standard Oasis specification ‘Piccolo’ wheel stylers remain fitted and are in superb order, as are the steel rims still with clearly defined rim stampings. Replacement 155/70 R13 tyres of matching brand have covered less than 1,000 miles and the spare tyre is unused. Servo assisted dual circuit brakes bring the car to a steady and straight stop.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 31st October 1996 by Renault Main Dealer, Wests Garage (Cambridge) Ltd, the car was pre-registered in order to help achieve a sales target. One week later the car was sold to a Mrs Nunn at a sale price of £7,360, as evidenced by the original order form/sales invoice in the history file. Clearly conscientious about preservation of her new car, Mrs Nunn specified dealer optional mud flaps, tailored carpet mat set and Boot tray liner. Perhaps she knew she were to keep her Clio for 23 years until 2019 when she sold the car with only 1,257 miles on the clock after having it strictly garaged all its life! The previous owner purchased the car in 2022 and has attended such classic car events such as the Hagerty Festival of the Unexceptional (FOTU) whereby it featured in the Concours de L’Ordinaire category complete with bespoke display board and windows stickers which remain with the car.

Following the sale by the original owner in 2019, the car was fully recommissioned including a camblet change and the most recent service was carried out in October 2024. The comprehensive history file further consists of the PDI check sheet, service invoices and every MOT certificate from the first in 1999 to the present day to fully verify the astonishingly low 5,665 miles covered. Absolutely all handbooks, service book, manuals and dealership point of sale literature is included in the Renault document wallet and there are two keys with the supplying dealer fob. Completing the history file is an original and deliciously 1990’s brochure featuring the special edition Clio Oasis and Club Med models. Personal inspection and drive of this factory fresh example will not fail to impress and it is difficult to imagine finding a better example. This is one for the collector, ideally called Nicole!

EXTERIOR
With an astonishing and genuine 422 miles from new, this poverty spec example is the ultimate homage to the original Fiesta ethos of simplistic low-cost motoring. Replacing the Popular/Popular Plus model designations, this model is simple known as the ‘Fiesta’ and makes the ‘L’ seem luxurious! To suggest that this example is as new is a bold statement, but one which is wholly justified with this perfect Fiesta. Perhaps most impressive is the underside which has been preserved in a time warp condition, with all orange PDI markings to the suspension components, yellow paint dots to the springs and factory stickers still intact, all features usually destroyed within the first few weeks! It is even clear to see the machine applied factory yellow wax to the central floor areas leaving the outer sills exposed, little wonder they all rust! In factory original Diamond White, (Code B 2), the paintwork to all factory panels is 100% original and essentially as new. The trim sections are perfect and supplying Ford dealer number plates, rear screen sticker and tax disc holder with first issue 1992 disc remain fitted! This example is simply as it left the Meridian Ford showroom in 1992, with absolutely nothing painted, replaced or altered. Truly a one-off museum piece.

INTERIOR
An interior entirely commensurate with a 422 mile car! The cabin space with Goodwood Grey fabric trim, (Code L V), is simply as it sat in the showroom awaiting collection by the first and only owner. Seats, door cards, headlining and carpets are as new throughout. The controls and switchgear have bright clear symbols and the new car feel which is lost soon after regular use. All functions operate flawlessly including the ultra-rare Ford self-seek model 2001 stereo with lack of cassette player which was fitted to all models bar the most basic ‘Fiesta’. Probably most nostalgia evoking of all is the new car smell that has been retained, instantly familiar as a Ford and ready to transport you back to a Ford showroom in 1992 complete with dealer branded screen wash and multilube spray! An astonishing piece of Ford history.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 1.1 HCS four cylinder ‘Valencia’ engine is a redesigned version of the Kent unit dating back to the 1950’s and Ford Anglia era! Specification includes a twin-venturi carburettor and manual choke set up which produces a rather pedestrian 53bhp at 5200rpm whereby a top speed of 94mph and 0-60mph is achieved in 14.2 seconds. The pristine engine bay has original plates, fragile paper stickers/labels and factory panel stampings clearly visible. A new Ford Motorcraft oil filter and the red Ford HT Leads remain fitted. A correct brand-new battery is fitted but the original white Motorcraft battery with flat terminals has been kept for total original purposes. Unlike most rattly Ford ‘push-rod’ engines, this example is whisper quiet and the four-speed manual gearbox is slick and superlight.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory steel wheels of size 4½ x 13 are in perfect order with the original full wheel covers fitted and as new. The original seeking collector with be pleased to see factory fitted Michelin MX L 155/70 R13 tyres all-round which should be renewed if the car is to be put into use. Perhaps most impressive of all is the virgin spare tyre which even has the miniscule Michelin man logos to the tread face that would have been lost on the first journey! Fully overhauled in October 2024 after long term storage, the servo-assisted diagonally split brakes with 9½” discs up front and 7”drums at the rear are free and operate correctly, and during inspection and overhaul revealed themselves to be in spotless condition!

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 26th March 1992 by Meridian Ford Leicester, this exceptional example was purchased by Mr Thompson who was to be the only owner the car has had. A new vehicle order form and subsequent sales invoice is made out to Mr Thompson illustrating a price paid of £6,200 for this most basic of the Fiesta model. Sadly, quite soon after purchasing the vehicle Mr Thompson began to lose his sight which meant the car was left garaged and could not be used. The almost inconceivable 422 miles from new is absolutely genuine and until now, the car was last on the road in around 1996. Despite the clear lack of use, the car was kept on the road for the first fours years and there are four stamped Ford main dealer entries in the service book covering this period. In October 2024 the car was discovered and has since undergone a major service, recommissioning and brake overhaul using genuine Ford parts where possible. The history file has all welcome letters from Ford following initial purchase as well as all corresponding Ford service invoices and checklists. The first MOT certificate in 1995 has been kept as have all tax discs from 1992 to 1996. The full book pack is present with even the ford cardboard sleeve that the document wallet was supplied in! Three keys including the master blade and codes tags are present.

With confirmation of a Christmas 2024 Bullseye reboot, expect to this Fiesta, hazards flashing, be revealed from behind the curtain as ‘Bully’s Special Prize’, unless the contestants end up with just the BFH (bus fare home)! One owner, 422 miles and museum quality in every conceivable respect.

A Retail Order Form and subsequent sales invoice is made out to the first owner, Mrs Frost, who paid £6,000 for the car and took advantage of the Rover Metro Clubman 0% finance offer most likely in the aim of selling the final cars prior to the launch of the all new Metro! Garaged at all times and used sparingly, the car was kept on the road every year until 2003 as evidenced by each MOT certificate from the first in 1993 to 2003 which is when Mrs Frost stopped driving. In 2005 the car was inherited by her daughter who although lived in the same road, the Metro remained in her mother’s garage. In 2024 the car was discovered after the garage block was earmarked for demolition due to development of the site, and photos in the history file show the discovery of the car and transportation away. A new vehicle sales invoice for £41,591.41 is made out to first owner, Mr R Fraser, who owned the car until 1999 when the car was traded back into the supplying dealer. The second owner, Mr R Barber, purchased the car from H.A.Fox in November 1999 at which time the car had not even reached 8,000 miles. There are even photos kept of the car in the showroom taken as a memento! The history file is every bit as spectacular as the car with 16 Jaguar stamped entries in the service book from the supplying dealer, H.A.Fox. Two Jaguar document wallets hold the service book and all handbooks and point of sale literature. Mr Barber has owned the car for nearly 25 years and the condition and ongoing preservation is a credit to his ownership. A huge and beautifully presented leather-bound folder with pewter plaque bespoke to the car is simply amazing and holds a detailed maintenance log, all corresponding Jaguar main dealer service invoices and every MOT certificate dating back to the first in 1998. In September 2024 the car was taken to a Jaguar Specialist for a major service including gearbox oil, fuel filter and brake fluid as well as a brake overhaul. One for the discerning enthusiast and collector, this stunning example is without question one of the finest examples in existence with a history file to match.

EXTERIOR
The unmodified, unspoilt and preserved nature of this delightful Beetle 1300 is truly wonderful and fondly reminiscent of a far simpler motoring age. Finished in Volkswagen Kasan Red/Kasanrot, (Code L30B), the vibrant finish to the paintwork is superb with only very light imperfections consisting of touched in marks and small areas of thin paint on bonnet edges from years of overzealous polishing. All utterly insignificant and underline the remarkable originality. The factory panels are damage free and uniformly even and the doors shut with a reassuring thud. Originality seekers will delight at the original VW etched glass, badges, factory wax injection plugs and inner door shut stickers. Even the octane sticker to the inside of the petrol flap remains fitted! All chrome bumpers and trim pieces are intact and boast a brilliant shine. Fortunately no imitation parts here with the factory fitted Hella headlamps and Hella rear lamps in perfect condition. The underside is excellent and has never been welded, almost unheard of for a Beetle! A delightfully humble and unmolested example of a motoring icon.

INTERIOR
The original black leatherette interior is spotless with all seats and matching door cards fully intact and remarkably free from wear. The factory fitted padded steering wheel with Wolfsburg crest is pristine, as is all other fully functioning controls and switchgear, even the dealer fitted Radiomobile push-button stereo! The factory sticker to the inner glovebox lid remains and the headlining is clean, fully intact and displays only very light discolouration around the rear seams. The front luggage compartment displays factory plates and stickers and houses the original spare wheel still feeding the pneumatic washer system, a system sadly often removed in favour of an electric washer pump. Remarkable.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The matching numbers standard air-cooled rear mounted engine produces 52bhp from its 1285cc displacement enabling a top speed of 78mph with the unmistakable Beetle engine note delightfully pronounced but completely unobtrusive. The engine bay is amazingly clean, exactly as Volkswagen intended and incredibly original. Even the now arguably primitive Volkswagen diagnostics plug remains fitted! The fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox works perfectly offering ease of use once familiarised.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original pressed steel wheels are in superb condition and dressed in immaculate chrome half wheel covers which are original items rather than inferior aftermarket fitment. Brand new and period correct Vredstein Sprint Classic 155 SR15 tyres were sourced from Vintage Tyres in October 2024 at considerable cost. Fully overhauled in October 2024, the dual circuit drums front and rear operate freely, offering modest yet perfectly adequate stopping power when compared to modern vehicles, exactly as they were made!

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 13th October 1972, the supplying Volkswagen Main Dealer was Walter Scott Ltd of Pavillion Road, London. This incredible Beetle 1300 has covered a genuine warranted 55,882 miles from new. Only very rarely does a classic car come with such an amazing history file, which in this instance begins with the original service booklet containing the supplying dealer stamp plus a further 40 stamped entries from 1972 to October 2024! Each entry records the date and mileage to fully verify the authenticity and illustrate the cars continual enjoyment throughout the last 52 years. Furthermore, a huge history folder is beautifully presented with many previous MOT certificates and specialist invoices for service and maintenance work. All original handbooks, guides, warranty book and dealership literature have been kept along with two sets of keys and an original sales brochure. Even the VW Diagnosis Punch Card Booklet with the original build sticker is present!

Sold by KGF Classic Cars in 2018, the car has since remained with the same owner and kept garaged. Attendance at the annual pilgrimage for Volkswagen enthusiasts, the Tatton Park VW Show, saw the car earn runner up prize in the ‘Beetles from 1968 on’ category at the 2023 event. A feature in Classsic Car Weekly dated March 2008 is full of glowing praise. A car that has thankfully evaded the modifiers, neglectful owners and scrappage schemes to now remain one of the best unmolested examples available with amazing supporting history.

This reliable diesel engine immediately jumps into life once the pre-heat warning light is off and the wonderfully agricultural engine note is hugely nostalgic from the days when diesels were indestructible! Weighing just 945kg, the performance is lively and the five-speed gearbox is sturdy and tight.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES

A load sensitive brake limiter valve is fitted to minimise the risk of rear brake lock-up.

HISTORY FILE
Truly astonishing. Supplied new on the 2nd March 2001 by Freeborn Citroen of Southampton to Mr Andrew White of Guildford. The Hire-Purchase Agreement reveals a price paid after interest charges and an APR of 17.2%, of £7,866. Shortly after purchasing and with only 250 miles, Mr White had to park the van in his secure communal garages while he recovered from an operation. There it remained for 12 years surfacing only for its first MOT in 2012 with 270 miles. After three years and now with 281 miles in 2015, Mr White was not able to continue driving and the vehicle was parked up again until 2022 when he sold it to a good friend due to the announcement that the communal garages were to be demolished for development. His friend decided to sell the van and wanted to get it back on the road so took it to a local mechanic where the third and final owner, Mr Medlicott, purchased it before any mechanical works were carried out. Despite his best intentions of wishing to preserve the van with minuscule miles, temptation eventually won Mr Medlicott over and after two agonising years of admiring it, the van was fully recommissioned in June 2024 and he drove it 3,300 miles! Thank goodness guilt quickly set in and the decision to sell the van to KGF Classic Cars was made! All handbooks, service book and manuals within the grey Citroen folder are present. A sales brochure a two keys with dealer fobs are present. Representing a unique opportunity to own a Citroen C15 van that must be the champ of all Champs!

HISTORY FILE
Factory records confirm the car rolled off the production line on the 1st May 1987 and was subsequently supplied by Main Dealer, Woking Ford and registered new on the 26th August 1987. The car has covered a verified 30,120 miles from new and remains in stunning unrestored condition. The previous owner, Mr Morgan, purchased it from a club member after extensive searching and for nostalgic reasons. His late father had an identical one brand new and once acquired the personalised registration number was put on it and outings with his mother were enjoyed visiting all their family holiday destinations.

A comprehensive file of invoices and MOT records warrant the low 30,120 miles which accompany all handbooks and the service original book with 19 entries. The most recent service was carried out in September 2024 and a cambelt change is documented in 2021 at 28,302 miles. The car has never had a recorded MOT advisory which speaks volumes for its ongoing cossetted existence! Two sets of keys are present with fobs including a working torch key! A 1987 Ford range brochure with the front page displaying a black Ford Orion Ghia completes the history for this Orion Ghia Injection, the ultimate in sporting luxury!
