HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 7th November 1986, the car was supplied by Audi Main Dealer, Hebble Auto Services of Huddersfield. The first owner, Mr Taylor, owned the car for a remarkable 24 years during which time it was seldom used and kept for best, his main passion being motorcycles. There is a letter from him dated 2011, the following year in which he sold the car, acknowledging receipt of the Audi Driver magazine featuring his car and also an account of his ownership. In this account he was asked if anyone had ever sat in the back seats to which he replied, “Yes, once. I had to take my Son and Daughter in Law to Gatwick Airport. I drove them down and upon returning I vacuumed the car out. Nobody has sat in the back since”. In 2013 the car was purchased by the Volkswagen Group where it was to become part of the Audi Heritage Collection and where it has remained ever since.
The history file is very comprehensive and includes the A5 wallet containing the handbooks, guides and radio booklet as well as the service booklet factory build label matching that on the boot lid. A history folder contains Audi Main Dealer and specialist service and maintenance invoices as well as previous MOT certificates dating back to the first in 1989. In February 2020 and at 8,344 miles the timing belt, water pump and pulley were replaced. Completing the history file is an original Audi 90 CD sales and specification brochure along with three original keys and code tags. There is even the 90 CD show plates which adorned the car when taken to shows and Audi publicity events.
