EXTERIOR
This outstanding BMW sports coupe is finished in desirable Estoril Blue metallic, (Code 335), forming part of the Individual range of colours. Charged at a premium above the standard range of brochure colours it highlights the aesthetic beauty of this muscular yet graceful model and has an astonishing bright polished shine. Tiny markings to the driver’s door edge are barely worthy of mentioning in an otherwise clearly cherished example. The front graduated window is factory original with manufacture stickers still attached and dealer supplied number plates remain fitted front and rear. The frameless side windows and unique Sport door mirrors add to the dynamic and elegant styling cues of this luxury sports car.
INTERIOR
The driver-orientated cockpit is ergonomically designed with exquisite first class materials expected in a machine that cost £59,425 excluding on the road charges in 1998. Finished in luxury Light Silver-Grey leather (Code M5SH), throughout which looks striking against the exterior Estoril Blue. The fully electric sports seats offer unrivalled levels of support and comfort and display minimal signs of use commensurate with the low miles covered. All high specification equipment and driver aids function correctly and the glovebox torch and first aid kit remain in situ although the torch is inoperative. A period mobile phone cradle remains neatly installed in the centre console and the Sport only anthracite headlining is unmarked. Perfect interaction between man and machine.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Benefiting from the newer M62 8-cylinder engine displacing 4.4 litres, immense power and flexibility for all driving styles is guaranteed. Producing 286bhp, 0-60mph is despatched in 7.0 seconds with an electronically limited 155mph top speed. The engine bay is spotlessly clean with all manufacturer markings present. The steptronic transmission combines the comfort of the Adaptive Gearbox system (AGS) with the freedom of a manual gearbox. The perfect combination.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Optional to the Sport model are the immaculate two-part BMW light alloy composite wheels in the bolted cross-spoke style shod in branded 235/45 R17 tyres upfront and 265/40 R17 at the rear. The wheels have the correct diamond-cut factory finish. Disc brakes all-round with ABS offer reserves of stopping power under firm application.
HISTORY FILE
Built in May 1998 and registered on the 4th June 1998 for Dealer Own-Use by BMW Main Dealers Williams of Liverpool. Sold to the only other owner Mr John David Lynch on the 26th February 1999. In July 2009 Mr Lynch transferred the car into his business, JDL Traffic Management Ltd. A total of eight service entries in the booklet consist of both BMW and Mercedes-Benz, with the owner opting for Mercedes due to his fleet of predominantly Mercedes cars. The black leather BMW wallet contains all the vehicle handbooks and even the supplying Dealer business cards. The private registration number R11JDL is included in the sale.
