The sophisticated AJ-V8 4.0 litre 32 valve, quad camshaft all aluminium lightweight engine packs 300bhp and 420Nm of torque, enough to propel this Cat to 60mph in 6.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. The engine bay is spotlessly clean and all factory plates and stickers are displayed. The electronically controlled intelligent six-speed automatic transmission operates superbly in both Sport and Normal modes to deliver a seamless surge-like power delivery.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Original and perfect 19” Atlas alloy wheels are standard fitment on the 4.2-S and feature the correct matching ‘growler’ centre caps. All tyres are matching premium Continental SportContact 6, (245/40 ZR19 front and 255/40 ZR19 rear), fitted brand new in 2019 with less than 800 miles covered. The immaculate boot area houses the original Pirelli space saver which is unused with coloured tyre banding and nobbles intact. Vacuum assisted 4-wheel disc brakes ventilated at front and rear with 4-wheel sensing anti-lock braking system and yaw control offer phenomenal braking power.
HISTORY FILE
Built as the final special edition model of the X100 Jaguar XK, the XK8/R 4.2-S were the last XK’s to be rolled out based on the original 1996 design. This XK8 version has covered an incredible 16,245 miles from new in the hands of knowledgeable and fanatical ownership.
Registered new on the 23rd July 2005 by H.A.Fox Jaguar of Nottingham to first owner, Mr B Moore. At just ten months old the car was sold, once again by H.A.Fox Jaguar, as an Approved Used car to the second owner and Jaguar Enthusiasts Club member, Mr Steven Malpass, with supporting used vehicle invoice in the history file for £38,710. The car was owned by Mr Malpass for 12 years until Mr Lindsay Porter purchased the car. A renowned and highly respected Motoring Journalist and Motoring Author, Mr Porter has written many books and vehicle workshop and restoration manuals, including the world-famous Haynes Manuals. In January 2020 the car was sold by KGF Classic Cars to Jaguar Enthusiasts Club members, Mr and Mrs Shillitoe, who have only decided to sell as they have now realised a lifetime dream of purchasing a 1960’s Ford Mustang. During their ownership a further quality car cover has been purchased and there are now three to go with the car. Mrs Shillitoe has even made a tailored driver’s seat cover!
The large history file comprises of the original full Jaguar book pack with service book containing seven stamped entries. The last service and brake fluid change was carried out in October 2021 by Nene Jaguar in Peterborough. There is a huge file of Jaguar main dealer and specialist invoices as well Jaguar Club press publications, vehicle condition reports and articles about this particular car. Three keys with remote fobs and unused H.A.Fox Jaguar keyrings include the green valet key. A special presentation case with hardback Jaguar XK8 4.2-S launch brochure is still in the original Jaguar clear cellophane! A fantastically preserved example of this modern classic Jaguar.
