The Used Car Vehicle invoice within the history file confirms all the details of when the car was sold by The Priory Motor Group at nine months old. In 2011 MG Owners Club member, Mrs Maureen Wylie, became the second private keeper using it only as a dry weather weekend car and keeping it garaged covering just 16,470 miles before selling it to KGF Classic Cars in 2019. KGF Classic Cars sold the vehicle to MG enthusiast, Mr Roger Schofield, who subsequently cared passionately about the car sat alongside his classic MGB. Subtle improvements such as a wind deflector, glass rear screen and no less than five maintenance visits to MG Specialists are all meticulously recorded. Two such visits involved cambelt changes with the last in November 2024 and a word processed documented by Mr Schofield breaks down all works and expenditure.

The original handbook and service book are present in the black leatherette MG wallet along with a neatly organised history file containing all supporting service invoices and previous MOT certificates to further validate the genuine low mileage and fastidious upkeep. There are two original keys and remotes and an original MG TF brochure to complete the impressive history file. It even comes with matching yellow sunglasses!

EXTERIOR
Just 1,430 limited edition MGF Trophy 160 cars were produced for the worldwide market and this example is one of the 804 UK examples. To create this range topping model the roadster was worked over by Peter Stevens, MG Rovers design chief and the man behind the McLaren F1. This prime example has covered an ultra-low 6,797 miles from new with just one owner, a retired gentleman, who was insistent on the best possible protection for his new car. To this end, he specified Supaguard protection treatment, MG headlamp protectors, MG fitted mud flaps, and both genuine MG rubber mats to protect the MG carpet mats! The car was strictly garaged and used sparingly in dry weather only, and the condition is absolute testament to this pampered existence. The stunning factory Trophy Yellow, (Code FAR), paint finish is virtually perfect with no fading or imperfections worthy of mention and the original black woven acrylic fabric hood is immaculate. All panels and shut lines are straight and even the boot lid is flush as opposed to often being raised due to the incorrect fitting of the tonneau cover. All trim is unmarked and the Trophy 160 rear badge is proudly displayed as are the supplying MG dealer number plates and tax discs holder. This example will satisfy the most fastidious fanatic and could be one of the best surviving examples anywhere in the world.

INTERIOR
The sports seats with unique cloth centre panels, (Code WRA), are standard fitment on this limited edition MGF and in a condition that is commensurate with the incredibly low 6,797 miles covered. The vibrant exterior is mirrored inside the cabin with centre console and door casing inserts in body colour finish and the steering wheel leather inserts are incredible thanks to the only owner always wearing driving gloves. The interior is simply outstanding and displays all the indicators of such a low mileage car with beautifully unworn touch points. The cut pile carpets remain protected by both sets of genuine MG mats. Both front and rear luggage areas are spotless with the front housing the original compressor in lew of spare wheel to allow for extra luggage space. Even the black bezel head lamp units still wear the fragile Valeo part stickers as well as the genuine MG headlamp protectors! MG museum quality in all respects.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The desirable four-cylinder 1796cc VVC, (Variable Valve Control) engine produces 160bhp enabling a top speed of 137mph and 0-60 in just 6.9 seconds, this is a fast car! The light weight body, race-bred chassis, mid-mounted engine and rear wheel drive configuration possesses all the correct sports car credentials to ensure optimum driver delight. The uprated Hydragas suspension is set to the manufacturers ride height of 348mm, 20mm lower than standard. The short throw sports ratio five speed gearbox completes the package.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The factory fitted 16inch Forged Spun Ultra alloy wheels are in superb order with no kerb damage and only very faint tarnishing to a couple of spokes, barely noticeable. Ticking the box for absolute collector desirability are the factory fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres which are not cracked or worn but should be replaced if regular use is intended. Standard for the Trophy 160 are ventilated 304mm front discs gripped by AP Racing stop-sign red calipers and solid rear discs.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Main Dealer, Marshall MG Rover in Peterborough, this UK MGF Trophy 160 SE was registered new on the 31st July 2002 to a Mr Kettle who purchased the car upon retirement. A fascinating senior gentleman, Mr Kettle who is now in his eighties, has only ever owned four cars in his driving career spanning well over 60 years. Preceding this MGF was firstly an Austin A30 purchased in 1960 followed by an Austin A40 in 1965 and a Skoda S100 in 1977. Incredibly, Mr Kettle has kept the order forms and purchase invoices for these cars and they have been left in the history file for the MGF to tell a story of one mans driving career which has now come to an end. Always a conscientious motorist, the owner has kept detailed journey logs dating back many years and inside the car were his driving gloves, brolly and various traditional road maps as well as Supaguard care products. He even kept the original Autocar magazine from January 2001 when the car was launched and a Trophy Yellow example was the cover feature!

In November 2023 and major service including all oils and fluids was carried out along with the cambelt and VVC belt change as well as the water pump. The original book pack is present along with both sets of keys with code tags, remote fobs and dealer keyrings and there is also an original sales brochure with price list. One owner, Trophy Yellow and just 6,797 miles from new, collectors please form a queue!

HISTORY FILE
This low mileage MG ZR was registered new on the 29th September 2001 by supplying MG Rover Main Dealer, Horner Eccles Ltd in Manchester and represents a very early pre-Project Drive example of the model. Project Drive was a cost cutting program implemented by MG Rover in late 2001/2002 that fixated on changes to trim, sound insulation and quality of some furnishings in order to save production costs and thankfully this example did not fall victim to any of these measures. Despite the low mileage, the car has benefitted from regular servicing and maintenance and there are 17 stamped entries in the service book, the most recent at 29,647 miles. A documented cambelt change was carried out in September 2023. The original MG handbook/service book along with a large files of service invoices form the full service history and every MOT certificate dating back to the first in 2004 fully verified the mileage at 30,501 miles.

KGF Classic Cars have sourced this stunning example from an enthusiast owner whereby the car was garaged alongside an MGB and Ford Escort RS2000. Very difficult to find in this condition and not to be confused with the majority of tired examples and ready to stand proud at any show.

MG XPower SV-R

SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

MODEL HISTORY
An indulgent ‘halo’ model intended to resurge the MG brand under MG Sport & Racing Limited. Peter Stevens, world renowned designer and aerodynamicist responsible for the McLaren F1 hypercar, led the team. With experts and suppliers stretching the globe from chassis structure in Italy, carbon fibre materials in the Isle of Wright, engine builders in Detroit and final finishing and trimming at Longbridge, the thousand-mile production line was a logistical and technical challenge. A total of just 82 cars were made, of which only 42 being the more powerful SV-R. Customers including Rowan Atkinson were keen to experience this MG Supercar before the company entered administration on the 12th April 2005. Chassis #155 was first registered to MG Sports and Racing Ltd as a demonstrator and was the most expensive standard car on top of which the list of factory options is eye-watering!

EQUIPMENT

The high-tensile steel chassis frame was crafted by Vaccari and Bosi in Modena Italy, the carbon fibre mat was made by Britain’s SP Group and constructed by Italy’s Belco Avia from 3,000 different pieces. The result, a complete shell weighing only 65kg and the entire vehicle having an unladen weight of just 1,500kg. In stark contrast and ridiculed as a result, are the Fiat Punto projector headlamps and Fiat Coupe circular rear lights embellished with chrome rings!

INTERIOR
Race style Recaro grabbing sports seats are finished in optional and expensive Oyster leather/Alcantara, (Code OY), the leather sections sourced from the Scottish Bridge of Weir tannery. Slight wear to the driver bolster does not detract from the overall excellent condition. Soft leather, Alcantara and wool coloured-keyed carpets specially dyed in Italy are immaculate. Carbon fibre is clearly visible in the cars structure and stainless-steel trims and carbon finish centre console complete the clean look and contrast beautifully against the green dial instruments. A high specification example to help justify the eye watering price tag when new!
