A sumptuous, luxurious and refined interior is thoroughly representative of the incredibly low mileage this car has covered.  The spotless upholstery is trimmed in hand cut and sewn Saville Grey Leather (code LDY) and is complemented by hand cut walnut (code LC) on the dashboard, fascia and cappings.  The deep pile carpeting is perfect and has been protected from new by tailored over mats.  The headlining has dropped slightly at the rear and the driver’s outer bolster is mildly discoloured with age.  Immensely comfortable sculptured supple leather seats with 8-way electric offering a commanding driving position for all driver and front seat passengers.  The supplying dealer rear screen sticker remains in place.  All functions and controls operate seamlessly and remain precisely as Jaguar intended.  True automotive indulgence.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This 6 cylinder 2.9 litre single overhead camshaft engine produces 165bhp achieving 0-60 in an effortless and whisper quiet 9.6 seconds.  A beautifully clean and detailed engine bay is showroom fresh with all stickers and plates spotlessly displayed.  The ZF four speed automatic transmission with ‘J’ gate selector is seamless with instant kick-down.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The beautiful 16in alloy wheels display a simply perfect factory finish with correct centre caps and Jaguar emblem centres.  The wheels remain shod in the factory fitted Dunlop TD SP Sport 220/60 VR390 tyres with masses of tread remaining.  The TD tyres have a unique bead design to allow limited run on capability should deflation occur, allowing the car to be driven at no more than 40mph until and convenient stop location is found.  Although free from cracking or damage, these tyres are original fitment and it would be prudent to remain aware of this if use is intended.  The pristine boot area houses the spare with original Dunlop tyre alongside the complete Jaguar toolkit.  The ABS braking system with YAW control offers safe, rapid stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on the 1st January 1989 by Jaguar Main Dealers Mann Egerton & Co Ltd in Norwich, this car has had just two owners throughout its incredible 9,399 miles.  The first registered keeper being listed as the Executors of Rodney William Woodcock, the vehicle remained in their name until 2012 whereby renowned enthusiast Mr Graham Dacre purchased the car to add to his extensive collection of classic cars.
A complete Jaguar wallet houses all book packs, guides, dealership literature and business cards.  The original service booklet houses five stamped entries from the supplying dealer Mann Egerton Jaguar and the history file further consists of a collection of previous MOT documents.  An incredibly well preserved example and quite possibly the best there is.

HISTORY FILE
With only 6,487 Jaguar XJC 4.2 examples being produced, (source Wikipedia), this is a very rare Jaguar. Plagued with production problems and poor build quality affecting the few made, survivors are a wonderful sight today. This prime example belongs to Mr Michael John Dearing of Classic Vehicle Restoration Specialist in Lincolnshire and was fully restored by him for personal pleasure. Now quoting three years before customers cars can be accepted for work, the reality of using his pride and joy and limited space, have resulted in a very lucky new owner being sought.
