HISTORY FILE
First registered on the 16th May 1960 and bought brand new by Mr William Berry from authorised Ford Dealers, Rumsey Limited in Bristol.  Cherished by him for 21 years until the second and only other custodian, Paul Guinness (now a well-known classic car journalist) purchased the vehicle in June 1981, as Mr Berry ‘upgraded’ to a new Fiesta. Paul was just 16 at the time.  The car had covered 56,000 miles at that point and the current low mileage of 69,210 has been reached during the 33 years that Paul has owned the car.  Although Paul learned to drive in this Anglia as soon as he passed his test he bought another Anglia for everyday use this example was used only sparingly for shows and club meetings.  Paul co-founded the Ford Anglia 105E Owners’ Club in 1982 where this car was a regular exhibit on the NEC club stand.  The car was kept on the road during the summer months through to 2005 when Paul decided that in 2013 it should undergo a full strip-down and rebuild to make it one of the world’s best examples.  Undoubtedly whoever buys it now will be getting the best-presented Anglia of its type, its restoration having cost more than three times the asking price alone.

The car comes complete with a professionally made plaque display board showing some of the events it attended in the 1980s, as well as a ‘silver’ plate that it won at a MkI Cortina OC event for Best Visitor’s Car.  Supplied are the original framed sales invoice, a host of old tax discs, plus a selection of original Anglia brochures, a parts book and much more.  An amazing opportunity.

Linear shut lines and defined panel edges affirmed the amazing originality, and first paint had been retained. The decision was made to commission an expensive professional glass out repaint, returning the car to its former glory. Meticulous removal and either replacement or refurbishment of trim sections was a real labour of love, and the remit quickly became clear, to make this Cortina exceptional regardless of time. The preservation of some original aged trim pieces took preference over aftermarket replacements, and with this in mind some very minor markings can be seen upon close scrutiny. A new lease of life for this already remarkable Cortina, ready now for many more years of cherishment.

The previous keeper, Mr Holmes, a member of the Ford Cortina Owners Club and huge classic car enthusiast sold the Cortina to KGF Classic Cars early in 2017 after purchasing our Rover Montego 1.6LX. Mr Holmes even kept a maintenance log for the car! All original handbooks, operating guides and the Ford Accessories booklet remain with the car. KGF Classic Cars quickly learned of the amazing originality of this Cortina with only the factory first paint showing cosmetic aging. The car was handed to renowned and trusted Classic Cars Restorer, Andrew Skervin, to carry out the full glass out repaint, the results of which are a credit to both him and the car. A truly stunning classic Ford.

EXTERIOR
This excellent RS2000 finished in glorious Ford Black, (Code A), boasts a marvellous deep shine and uniform finish. This example has avoided the common extreme modification trend and remains as Ford intended. Only very minor paintwork imperfections are notable under scrutiny but certainly do not spoil the appeal. Worthy of mention are discreet and neatly fitted deadlocks to the lower doors and a light ding to the boot lid edge below the spoiler. Having been Ziebart protected from new, the structural integrity has been upheld and the Ziebart plug stops remain visible within the door shuts. Panel fit is excellent and the shut lines uniform. All trim sections, RS decals and badges remain intact and are in good order. A very usable and attractive RS2000, one for the avid blue oval enthusiast wanting to exploit maximum enjoyment from classic Ford ownership.

INTERIOR
The interior of this unspoilt example is beautifully clean and unworn. The Black fabric, (Code A8), to the Scheel sports seats and rear bench is in beautiful condition having been subject to a professional retrim, a task thankfully undertaken by renowned and trusted experts, Aldridge Trimming Ltd to 1977 factory specification. The fascia and undamaged padded dash top houses fully functional gauges and rocker switches and a highly sought after three spoke RS steering wheel with RS central boss. The heater fan is functional on both speed settings. The loop pile carpets and fully trimmed door panels are in excellent condition and the black washable headlining is perfect. A Ford push button radio cassette is fitted. A classic Ford RS interior in exceptional condition.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The original 1993cc SOHC engine remains fitted to this vehicle with standard features such as the Ford plastic air box cover and twin-choke Weber 32DGAV carburettor. The engine bay is clean with scope for improvement to the finish possible. Factory metal data plates and the black plastic bulkhead cover are still present. Performance figures of 108.2mph top speed and 0-60 in just 8.5 seconds are more than respectable, even for modern standards. An accepted and highly desirable upgrade to the Ford Type 9 five speed gearbox has been undertaken to allow for much improved usability.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Genuine Ford RS Ronal alloy road wheels have been refurbished to exceptional standard with five matching quality Yokohama A539 175/60 R13 tyres showing plenty of tread. The spare alloy wheel is housed in the boot area with factory build stickers displayed. Vacuum servo assisted front disc brakes with rear drums brakes offer fair braking but fall short of modern standards.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new through the Ford Rallye Sport dealer network on the 18th November 1977, this Mk2 RS2000 Custom has enjoyed enthusiast ownership and is known to the RS community. The current owner, Mickey Stewart, is an active member and RSOC Official of the RS Owners Club and has attended many shows and events with this example. A huge and neatly organised history folder contains masses of receipts and invoices including many from renowned Ford specialists Burton Power. Original Ford operating guides and handbooks remain in the history file. Many previous MOT certificates as well as original Ford Rallye Sport Dealership literature and even letters from previous owners complete the history file.

This superb looking example is ready for total enjoyment and classic car show attendance whereby much admiration is a certainty.

HISTORY FILE
Radically modified Fords worked on by Super Speed Conversions Ltd received such enthusiastic praise for their sparkling performance but were enjoyed by only a handful of individuals due to the cost. The previous owner Mr Colin Waine, failed to find such a car but always wanted one, so embarked on building the perfect recreation. Registered on the 16th May 1972 and with just four former keepers an un-welded shell formed the starting point in this costly project. Respected within the Ford community, the Waine Brothers are renowned for building some of the finest recreations to grace the Ford circuit and KGF Classic Cars are very proud and honoured to be able to offer this special car to a very lucky new custodian.
