A copy of the original Buff Log Book is also present. Photographs in the history file reveal the comprehensive works carried out by highly regarded ASM Restorations with this example being owned by the business owner himself. HISTORY FILE
Coveted by collectors the limited edition Capri 280 is the most difficult ‘car you promised yourself’ as only 1038 were produced to celebrate the last of a famous line. GG11829 is build number 971 and has only had two former keepers from new. The first owner was Ford themselves who registered the car on the 1st August 1987 followed by Mr Powell who purchased it when just six months old. The Used Vehicle Invoice reveals the sum paid of £9,960.50 when the car had covered 3,070 miles. Mr Powell also stipulated at this time that the oil be changed to Shell Gemini Motor Oil, a premium oil and his only choice. He lovingly garaged the vehicle for most of its life (hence the low mileage of 6,212) and kept the car in pristine condition – which is how it still presents today. In 2013 when Chris Powell sadly passed away, the car was sold to best friend and third registered keeper, Mr Gilette who recognised the significance of this 280 and also kept the car in a preserved state. The car’s condition today is stunning and KGF Classic have embarked on a full recommissioning programme using only genuine Ford service items ready for the next owner to enjoy and cherish.

HISTORY FILE
A total of just 1,154 RS1600s were made, (Source: Factory-original Sporting Mk1 Escorts by Dan Williamson), with most being extensively raced and rallied and some of those remaining having been re-shelled, this car is an amazing find and rarely available on the open market. Built at Fords Advanced Vehicle Operations factory in Aveley in June 1972 this Club Registered example has a fully traceable ownership record with the current long-term custodian, Mr Anthony Manning, a respected expert with a total of four RS1600s. His experience, knowledge and understanding combined with KGF Classic Cars desire to work with authenticated Condition One cars is absolute reassurance to the next owner in an ever confusing market place. A file of invoices from industry experts, letters from the AVO Owners Club signed by the Club Secretary all make fascinating reading. A valuation of £80,000 was placed on the car in August 2016 with a certificate in the history file. The ultimate Mk1 Escort and the holy grail of any Ford collection.

Indeed, still within the seat covers is the brown cardboard tag detailing the manufacturing date often only found on low mileage examples. Matching black cut pile carpets and fully trimmed door panels are in excellent condition and the padded dash top housing fully functional gauges is undamaged. Connoisseurs will note the early 120mph speedo with white needles and working Smiths Quartz clock with dark orange hands. The heater fan works on both settings and the Ford radio is operational. The engine bay is spotless with original factory metal data plates and the black plastic bulkhead cover all still present. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Genuine Ford RS Ronal alloy road wheels have been refurbished with matching quality Pirelli 175/70 R13 tyres showing plenty of tread. The spare alloy wheel is housed in the boot area. Vacuum servo assisted front disc brakes with rear drums brakes offer fair braking but fall short of modern standards.

HISTORY FILE
Built on the Saarlouis production line in May 1977 and first registered on 1st August 1977 by Ford Rallye Sport Dealer, Frank G. Gates Ltd this beautiful example has only had three former keepers from new. Produced prior to the Custom and Base model these early cars possess key differences sought-after by collectors and very difficult to find. The history file contains the original delivery/collection note when the car was supplied to the first owner Mr D Blatch who opted for the Dinitrol 6 year guarantee treatment. Cherished by him until his passing when his brother Mr Bernard Blatch took ownership. Bernard had the car fully serviced and checked in February 1999 when it had covered 44,760 miles as it had been unused for a few years prior to his brothers passing and subsequently put the car in storage. Then sold in 2003 to Mr Swain a Ford enthusiast who sympathetically restored the car enjoying it for the next 14 years until the current owner Mr Warner purchased the car. Mr Warner has decided to part with the car due to the acquisition of an even lower mileage Black RS2000. A collection of invoices, old MOT certificates, tax discs and spare keys are included. This is a very special, highly collectable Rallye Sport for the Ford fanatic.
