SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A superb Peugeot 205 Look with 25,802 miles, husband and wife owned from new.

EQUIPMENT
Special edition ‘Look’ decals, load adjustable headlamps, 2 reversing lamps, rear fog lamp, laminated windscreen, heated rear window, tailgate wash/wipe, locking petrol cap, sunroof, full wheel covers, chrome bumper inserts, Clarion OFAD radio/cassette, interior courtesy lamp, sunvisors with passenger vanity mirror, glovebox, front door bins, fold down rear seats.  Factory options; Metallic paint.  Dealer accessories; Mud flaps.

EXTERIOR
This iconic supermini from Peugeot, largely credited for turning Peugeot’s fortunes around in the 1980’s, the 205 needs little introduction.  This incredible limited edition ‘Look’ has been owned by husband and wife from new and has covered just 25,802 miles!  Finished in factory optional Topaz Blue metallic, (Code M0LZ), the paint finish has been preserved in very good order boasting a bright uniform finish.  This incredible original and straight example has not suffered the common ding prone existence and close scrutiny will detect a few minor scratches.  The ‘Look’ badges and decals are as new and all trim section are fully intact.  The underside is preserved incredibly well.  Factory Peugeot Sekurit glass, supplying dealership number plates and rear screen sticker underline the time warp credentials.

INTERIOR
Fitted with the special edition ‘Look’ interior, this low mileage example was the owner’s pride and joy, which is clear to see.  Terms such as ‘perfect’ and ‘as new’ are sometimes used loosely, however they are entirely justified in this instance.  The vibrant Strobe upholstery is perfect with no wear whatsoever, and all interior trim is showroom fresh.  The fascia is pristine and all controls and gauges operate seamlessly, including the factory fitted Clarion OFAD radio/cassette.  The boot area is simply immaculate, with the painted under carpet area as new and the rear seat belt reel housings even have factory stickers still attached.  Reminiscent of a 1990 Peugeot Talbot showroom car, this certainly is no ordinary 205.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fabulous, fun and spirited, this 1124cc TU1 engine produces 53bhp and is a real delight to drive.  Simplistic maintenance and excellent parts availability keep running costs to a bare minimum.  The engine bay is spotless and displays all factory stickers and plates as well as 205 inner wing stamps, PDI markings and painted colour code.  Even the factory hand applied rocker cover sign-off is still clearly visible!  The 4-speed gearbox is light with a positive clutch action.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original steel wheels still wear the factory full wheel trims which are in very good order with no outer damage.  Originality seekers will be pleased to see the factory Michelin MX 145 R13 tyres remains fitted, which whilst retaining plenty of tread, renewal is recommended due to age.  Split circuit servo-assisted brakes incorporating front discs and rear drums offer assured stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied by Peugeot Main Dealers, Carrs of Castleford, on the 2nd August 1990, first owner, Mrs Judith Fryer, cherished her pride and joy for 25 years, where upon her passing the car was transferred to her husband, Mr Gerald Fryer.  Used sparingly as a second car, the Peugeot was always kept in a heated garage and has covered a remarkably low 25,802 miles from new!

All the handbooks contained in the black A5 folder remain with the car including the service book with eight stamped entries.  After a period of dry storage, KGF Classic Cars have undergone a full safety check and recommissioning process to include a service, cambelt and water pump, documented and carried out in March 2019.  Two sets of Peugeot keys, dealer keyring and the original key code tags are present.  Named Car Magazine’s ‘Car of the Decade’ in 1990, the year this car was made, the Peugeot 205 was regarded as the benchmark for superminis for many years and this exemplary example is a fitting tribute to this accolade.  Beautifully preserved with wonderful credentials, an unmissable opportunity for the collector and avid Peugeot enthusiast, and perfect as a starter classic.
