EXTERIOR
The motorway storming retro Vauxhall Senator was the flagship model in the griffin-badged range, and this exceptional example has covered just 44,297 miles from new! Finished in factory optional Carnelian Red Metallic, (Code E 534), the paintwork is in outstanding condition. The paint boasts a beautiful lustrous shine and uniform finish, and all factory panels are pin straight with uniform gaps. The superb underside condition is free from excess underseal and reflects the very low mileage and strict garage storage since new. All trim pieces are virtually perfect and the original waistline pinstripe undamaged. The bumpers show tiny scratches and one almost undetectable scuff. Both front and rear supplying dealer number plates remain fitted with the front having a noticeable crack but a replacement is supplied. Renowned for excellent build quality, this classic executive Senator is simply fantastic.

INTERIOR
A brilliantly period and super luxury interior, this cabin space will absolutely delight fans of 1980’s retro. The pristine Beige Crushed Velour upholstery, (Code 109), is fabulously plush and features extensive matching door cards and trim sections. The sumptuous seats are spotless with no visible wear, sagging or damage and all trim pieces are perfect. The dashboard and cockpit style instrument panel are as new, and all high specification functions and controls operate seamlessly, including the original Philips stereo cassette. Prominent natural veins to the steering wheel and gear knob are an obvious trait of such a low mileage example. Incredibly even the original ventilation position card remains affixed to the dashboard! The immaculate boot floor has the factory insulating panels and the original jack, wheel brace and genuine Opel toolkit. With extensive sound insulation a standard feature of the Senator, the occupants will enjoy whisper quiet super-saloon comfort and indulgence.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 2490cc cam-in-head straight six-cylinder engine with Bosch LE-Jetronic fuel injection produces 138bhp at 5200rpm and 205Nm torque at 4000rpm. The well maintained silky smooth straight six is a quiet, powerful and effortless cruiser, with marketing literature quoting a 123mph top speed. The engine bay is pristine, unmolested and displays factory plates and stickers. The five speed all synchromesh gearbox feels light yet sturdy and tight, a real joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory original 6J x 14 alloys wheels are in amazing condition with only miniscule markings and remain fitted with correct Griffin badged hubcaps. The tyres are matching branded Hankook tyres displaying excellent tread and rubber condition. The factory Pirelli P6 tyre is unused and still has the coloured banding visible! Dual circuit brakes with servo assistance feature 10.7in ventilated front discs and 11.0in rear discs to offer powerful stopping capability.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new by Vauxhall Main Dealers, Vincents of Ely, on the 1st August 1986, this exceptional example has covered just 44,297 miles with three former owners. The previous keeper, Mr Stephen Pink, has owned the car since July 2012 and used it for shows and dry day outings whilst keeping it strictly garaged at all other times. With his forthcoming wedding fast approaching, the difficult decision has been made to part with the car and KGF Classic Cars are delighted to be able to enjoy this outstanding example and find the next appreciative owner.

The history file contains the original handbook, receipts and invoices as well as some previous MOT certificates, including the latest carried out in July 2018 with no advisories. An oil service has just been carried out leaving nothing other than driving enjoyment on the list to do! There are two sets of keys and an original Vauxhall Senator sales brochure. Based on the Carlton, the Senator was a lengthened and expensive luxury option, a rare car even in the 1980’s. This fortunate survivor has been preserved as one of the best remaining examples and will delight the next owner in every respect.
