EXTERIOR
The angular lines of the W124 Mercedes-Benz are instantly recognisable, and this desirable 320E example is a fantastic testament to this design classic.  Finished in factory optional Brilliant Silver Metallic, (brillantsilber Code 744), the beautifully polished paint finish is fantastic thanks to garage storage.  Minor age-related markings are visible upon inspection and worthy of mention is a small ding to the boot lid, passenger door and very light chips to the bonnet.  All trim sections are fully intact with minor age related marks and supplying dealer number plates front and rear still remain fitted.  Purchased by the only private owner from the Sales Manager of Main Dealers, J.R Tagger Ltd, it is clear to see the car was the owners pride and joy and has been cherished and preserved accordingly.

INTERIOR
The superbly engineered and beautifully finished cabin space of the Mercedes-Benz W124 is widely renowned for unparalleled build quality and many will argue its successor, the W210 Series, fell short in comparison.  Ergonomically designed for optimum comfort, the contoured seats trimmed in original Grey Leather, (Code 268), are very clean and genuine Mercedes-Benz carpet mats have been fitted from new.  The seat bases and bolsters remain absolutely firm and have retained all shape.  The door cards, headlining, dashboard and switchgear are perfect, and all functions and controls operate seamlessly.  The upgrade Sony XR-7041 stereo with 10CD changer fitted by the supplying dealer when new operates well.  Service stickers remain in the door shuts and does the J.R Tagger tax disc holder in the front screen.  The untouched Mercedes first aid kit is housed in the rear shelf compartment, still in the plastic wrapper and the boot area is pristine with the tools again, still in the plastic wrapper!  An immensely comfortable and well-appointed interior, built to the highest standard.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Fitted with the Mercedes six-cylinder 24v unit of 3199cc displacement, the engine produces 220bhp at 5500rpm and 310Nm of torque at 3750rpm.  A top speed of 144mph and 0-62 in 8.6 seconds is achieved in effortless near silence from this exceptionally smooth powertrain.  The beautifully clean and original engine bay displays factory stickers, plates and original protective wax.   The factory optional five speed automatic transmission with economy and sport mode operates exactly as the manufacturer intended with smooth changes and positive kick down.  With 32 stamped service entries, this engineering legend is sheer motoring indulgence.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The classic 8-hole alloy wheel rims look stunning and are well presented with only light markings and scratches to the outer rims.  Five matching quality Michelin 195/65 R15 tyres have masses of tread remaining.  The pristine boot area houses the spare wheel alongside the original toolkit roll, jack and warning triangle.  Even the wheel change instruction tag has survived intact!  Dual-circuit servo braking system with all-round discs and anti-lock assistance (ABS) offers excellent straight line stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new on the 13th August 1993 by Mercedes-Benz Main Dealer, J.R.Tagger Ltd of Watford, this UK example has had just one private keeper from new.  Purchased from J.R.Tagger Ltd as the Sales Managers demonstrator at just 7 months old, the sales invoice in the history file is made out to Mr Bernard Kaye and illustrates the price paid of £34,750.  Incredibly, Mr Kaye has kept this beautiful 320E for 24 years and covered a fully verified 71,053 miles.  The service history is simply remarkable and colossal, with the original service booklet containing 32 stamped entries, the most recent being in July 2017 at 70,719 miles.  To accompany each stamp is a huge history folder containing every corresponding service invoice and previous MOT certificates to leave in no doubt the fastidious annual maintenance.  The Mercedes document wallet contains all handbooks, guides and point of sale literature as well as two original Mercedes keys with J.R.Tagger leather fobs.  Two period road test reports are also included.

The difficult decision to part with his pride and joy has been made by Mr Kaye due to his advancing years, and the next lucky custodian will benefit from his dedicated care of the car and will find themselves owning one of the best examples remaining.
