An irreplaceable Mercedes-Benz 250 (W114) with just 6,212 miles and two owners.

EQUIPMENT
Rigid torsion-resistant passenger compartment, energy-absorbing front and rear sections, anti-burst safety locks, padded interior protection, laminated windscreen, optimal vision side windows, panoramic safety glass, front door quarter lights, rubber side strip inserts, broad rubber inserts on bumpers, parking lights, infinitely variable instrument lighting, courtesy lighting, high-frequency horn, centre rear seat armrest, cigar lighter.  Factory options; Automatic transmission, power steering, heated rear window.  Dealer options; Stereo 8 Radiomobile (8 Track).

EXTERIOR
The Mercedes-Benz W114 Series was marketed as the ‘New Generation Model’ having been the first post war Mercedes-Benz production car to use a newly engineered chassis, not derived from preceding models.  This outstanding example in factory original Mercedes Deep Blue, (Code DB920), boasts a virtually perfect finish that will simply amaze anybody within its presence.  The Daimler-Benz quality paint process dictated that each coat was annealed at temperatures between 130 and 165°C, which together with mileage of just 6,212 miles and temperature controlled storage have ensured this example is preserved as one of the best in the world.  All trim sections, chromework, lights and badges appear as new, a testament to the maker’s craftsmanship.  Unrestored, unmolested and preserved, a worthy museum artefact.

INTERIOR
The interior of this very special example is as close to a new W114 Series Mercedes-Benz as can be.  The original coverings to the anatomically contoured seats are perfect, as are the carpets, door cards and headlining.  The beautifully crafted padded fascia houses as new controls and switchgear, all flawless in operation and the elegant large steering wheel with padded boss is an object of ornamental beauty.  The driver’s floor mat has a small mark.  The optional Stereo 8 Radiomobile 8 Track player fitted from new remains in place and even the irreplaceable blanking plate with 250 badge has been kept in the history file!  The boot area with undamaged rubber mat lifts to reveal a spotless boot floor, and there are factory stickers in the boot area and door shuts.  A sheer motoring indulgence to simply appreciate the craftsmanship and quality of a Mercedes-Benz interior during their heyday, second to none.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The six-cylinder in-line engine with overhead camshaft and twin compound down-draft carburettors develops 130bhp at 5000rpm and 216Nm torque at 3200rpm.  Raising the sturdy counter-balanced bonnet reveals a pristine engine compartment with bright polished inner wings and slam panel, and the usually perished bulkhead insulation fully intact!  Factory plates, stickers and stampings are clearly visible and prominent having never been touched.  The optional Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission with kick down and override function operates flawlessly.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original wheels remain fitted with the colour coded and chromium plated 12 hole trims which are excellent aside from very light scratches.  Brand new Continental ContiEcoContact3 tyres have just been fitted.  Dual-circuit power assisted brakes with discs to all four wheels offer powerful stopping capabilities.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new with the cherished plate ‘WHH1’ on the 4th April 1973 by Mercedes Main Dealers Eyebury of Brentwood, this amazing example has covered a mere 6,212 miles with just two keepers from new.  First keeper, Mr William Humphreys, purchased the car having always promised himself a Mercedes-Benz, and he doted on his pride and joy for almost 30 years until ownership passed to Mr Francis Harrison in 2002, with whom it is remained ever since.  The wonderful history file comprises of the original Mercedes-Benz brown plastic wallet containing the service book, handbooks, dealership literature and even the factory build punch card!  A further history folder contains the original new car PDI checklist along with many previous MOT certificates and maintenance invoices to verify the low mileage.  An original sales brochure, two Mercedes keys and a collection of other vehicle documents complete the history file.

An exceptionally low mileage example of this beautifully engineered machine, appealing to any serious collector wanting one of the very best preserved examples in existence.  This W114 250 will delight on every conceivable level.
