SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A formidable and ferocious Lotus Esprit V8 GT with just 34,636 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
GRP/Kevlar composite body, rigid zinc-coated steel backbone chassis, tilting roof panel, front and rear stowage areas, rear pane spoiler, rear wing spoiler, front fog lamps, Cobra alarm immobiliser, one-touch electric windows, Momo three-spoke leather steering wheel, electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, centre console with stowage compartment. Factory options; Metallic paint, leather upholstery, Alcantara headlining, air conditioning.

EXTERIOR
This commanding and striking V8 GT is one of the final incarnations of the iconic Ital designed Lotus Esprit. These later examples restyled by designer Julian Thomson offer a suggestive nod towards the original shape unveiled at the 1972 Turin Motor Show albeit with many cosmetic revisions. This sensational low mileage example is finished in original and optional British Racing Green (code B21) which boasts a beautiful deep polished shine and uniform finish throughout. All trim sections, Lotus decals and badges are damage free and remain unmolested just as Lotus intended. There is a light scuff to the rear bumper and the clean engine bay displays all factory stickers and plates but the red cam cover has flaked slightly. The Lotus identity plate in the windscreen remains in place. Low slung, mid-engined and the feature of many a wall poster, all supercar credentials are well and truly ticked!

INTERIOR
Having covered such low mileage the original factory optional Muirhead leather upholstery in Magnolia (code XX21) has remained clean and largely wear free albeit for minor light creasing to the driver’s seat and discolouration to the bolster. Once installed in the low driving position, the driver is exposed to a traditional supercar environment which is not the most ergonomically advanced by modern standards but still surprisingly comfortable and demonstrates characteristic Lotus quirkiness! The original trimming to the fascia is fully intact and both front and rear storage compartments are clean. There is a small crack in two places to the trim and the air conditioning is not operational to full capacity. A full Lotus tool kit, removable roof cover and car cover are included. The sense of occasion and excitement is ever present to any occupant of this legendary Esprit, even before the key is turned!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Truly exhilarating, one of many narratives of the Lotus in-house developed all-aluminum, twin-turbocharged V8 engine with Allied Signal T25 turbochargers. Developing a phenomenal 350bhp at 6500rpm and 295lb ft torque at 4250rpm, the speed is electronically limited to 170mph and 0-60 flashes by in just 4.8 seconds! Absolute peace of mind is born from a complete mechanical overhaul totaling thousands of pounds carried out within the last six months. Parts supplied and fitted from Lotus specialists include renewal of all belts, turbos, clutch assemblies, fluids and braking components to list just a fraction. The result is a white-knuckle driving experience to truly set the pulse racing!

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original lightweight six spoke alloy wheels of size 8.5Jx17inch to the front and 10.0Jx18inch to the rear offer the ultimate supercar stance which are unrestored with minor markings. Matching correct Michelin 235/40 ZR17 and 285/35 ZR18 have masses of tread remaining. The fully overhauled braking system with ventilated discs all round feature Kelsey Hayes 430 3-channel ABS to offer ample stopping capabilities to match the immense power.

HISTORY FILE
Supplied new by Lotus selling agent Westminster Motors Ltd on the 9th March 1998 in the Isle of Man to first owner Mr Graham Nock, this example has had just four further keepers since, all fully traceable in the comprehensive history file. In 2001 the second keeper took ownership and the vehicle was exported to Ireland in 2006 where it remained until 2011 upon being purchased by the last registered keeper. A large comprehensive history file houses countless receipts and invoices throughout the life of the car with each keeper to fully document the incredibly low 34,636 miles from new. A considerable sum of money has been lavished on the car recently with all invoices to prove. The original green leather Lotus folder incorporates the handbooks and maintenance record housing a number of stamps including the most recent in December 2014 as part of the comprehensive overhaul.

All further handbooks, radio guides and alarm certificate are included along with an original Lotus Esprit V8 GT and V8 SE sales brochure. Now ready for the next thrill seeking appreciative owner.
