SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

An absolutely stunning fully restored UK Kawasaki AR80-C5.

EQUIPMENT
Aerodynamic quarter faring with smoked windscreen, Uni-Trak rear suspension, speedometer, tachometer, ignition switch incorporating park light, turn signal switch, headlight switch, dimmer switch, neutral indicator, two-stroke oil light, horn, rear footrests, fuel valve, steering lock, helmet holder.

EXTERIOR
Finished in Polar White the appearance of this successful and iconic motorcycle can only be described as stunning.  Virtually identical to AR50-C5 variant this AR80 was the envy of many 16 year olds not legally allowed to ride one!  The pristine full cradle frame helped to illuminate the ‘weedy’ look of excess space below the handlebars and the racetrack proven Uni-Trak rear suspension is spotlessly clean and as standard.  Fine detail can be found in such items as the chain guard sticker and fully working easy-read instrumentation.  The decals, trim sections, rubbers and seat are immaculate but the front cowling shows a very light hairline crack that has not gone through, barely visible.  Industry leading Kawasaki AR50/80 AE50/80 UK Specialists, Holmetech of Chorley, restored this Polar White example to an incredible standard, with attention to detail extending to the brand-new genuine Kawasaki mirrors, sourced from the US with original boxes kept.  Fabulously retro!

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The robust air-cooled 2-stroke engine has a 78cc displacement with an automatic superlube oil injection to help ensure maximum convenience and reliability.  Proven reed-valve induction combined with electronic CD Ignition (CDI) delivers the kind of power that has enthralled a generation of first time young riders.  A standard UK bike with the correct factory AR80 exhaust, the maximum horsepower is 10.2hp at 8,500 rpm and maximum torque is 8.53 Nm at 8,000 rpm.  This is a matching numbers example with both frame and engine number easily readable and will require recommissioning due to being on display for a number of years.  The quick-shifting 6-speed close-ratio gearbox operates correctly with effortless gear changes.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This AR80 is fitted with stylish and distinctive white cast-alloy wheels, both in wonderful condition.  Matching brand and period style 2.75-18 rear and 2.50-18 front tyres, fitted new in 2015, show plenty of tread remaining.   Hydraulic stainless disc front brake and dustproof/waterproof rear drum brake combine to provide confident, controlled braking in all weather conditions.

HISTORY FILE
Registered in the UK on the 14th October 1987 with a frame number of AR080C-002977 and engine number AR080AE034764, this highly collectable example has remained a desirable matching numbers bike.  Restored by Phil Holme, owner of Holmetech Motorcycle Sales & Restorations and fully worked on by him to represent one of the best currently available and for a discerning collector.  Purchased by KGF Classic Cars in February 2018 and forming part of a static display of 1980’s memorabilia in their showroom including numerous Raleigh Burners.  The history file contains some previous MOT certificates and invoices from specialist motorcycles service experts.  An unmissable opportunity to relive you 80’s teenage years and rarely offered.
