SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A time capsule Rover 25iE 16v with an incredible 6,682 miles from new.

EQUIPMENT
Rover grille, flush glazed laminated windscreen, tinted windscreen, ultra violet reducing glass, electric tilt/slide sunroof, rear spoiler, body coloured bumpers, bright front door sill tread strips, styled twin halogen headlamps, headlamp road-levelling, lamps-on warning buzzer, rear wash/wipe, engine immobiliser, perimetric anti-theft alarm, remote central door locking, digital clock, burr walnut fascia insert, 60/40 split folding rear seat, security coded radio cassette, roof mounted aerial.  Factory options; Metallic paint.  Dealer options; Tailored Rover floor mats.

EXTERIOR
Finished in optional Platinum Silver Metallic, (Code MNX), the original paint finish is simply exceptional as you would expect from a car covering an incredible genuine 6,682 miles from new.  The retired long-term keeper from new insisted on keeping the car strictly garaged and with advancing years used the vehicle sparingly.  All panels are pin straight and the underside still has factory labels attached.  Door shuts are free from grime and wheel arch apertures are amazing with even the coil springs still retaining their green and white paint dabs.  All trim sections, glass, lights and badges are pristine.  The glass is number plate etched at the request of the owner when new.  Representative of a nearly new showroom example, preserved to an amazing standard.

INTERIOR
The interior of this time warp example is in pristine original condition.  The comfortable seats are finished in Wiggle Ash Grey, (Code LNF), and are as new.  The Burr walnut facia inserts are typical Rover standard specification and add a little luxury alongside features such as bright front door sill tread strips, cut pile carpets and tinted glass.  All controls and switchgear operate perfectly including the electronic tune Rover R660 radio cassette with auto reverse.  The boot area remains unused with a full tool kit.  Remarkable in every respect.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The punchy 4-cylinder transverse 1.1 16v DOHC engine with electronic multi-point fuel injection performs impeccably and produces 75bhp. A top speed of 100mph and 0-60mph in 13.5 secs are quoted.  The pristine engine bay is virtually as new and displays factory plates, stickers, labels and even coloured PDI dabs!  A documented major service, cambelt and water pump renewal was carried out in April 2018.  The 5-speed manual gearbox is light and a joy to use.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Standard 14” steel wheels with Rover wheel trims are shod in new Continental ContiEcoContact3 175/65 R14 tyres.  The spare Michelin TEX tyre remains unused.  Servo-assisted diagonal split dual circuit system with front disc brakes and rear drums bring the car to an assured halt safely.

HISTORY FILE
This incredibly low mileage example was registered new on the 24th July 2001 to the supplying Dealer, Arnold Clark Automobiles Ltd in Liverpool in order to qualify for the pre-registration bonus.  Three days later on the 27th July it was registered to Mr John William Lysaght.  The New Car Invoice in the history file reveals a total purchase price of £8,250.  Mr Lysaght part exchanged his 1997 Rover 200 S that had covered 24,102 miles.  Remaining in his pampered care for the next 17 years the annual MOT history reveals the minimal mileage covered each year before his passing in 2018.  Sold by KGF Classic Cars to Mr Peter Bailey, the car was treated to a documented major service, cambelt and water pump renewal as well as new Continental Tyres, battery and a set of genuine Rover floor mats.  The very conscientious Mr Bailey has kept a full log of every journey and even took the trouble to contact the selling dealer, Arnold Clark, who kindly sent him a full dealer brand book pack and rear screen sticker!  Now wanting an original Rover Mini Cooper, Mr Bailey has decided to part with the Rover and KGF Classic Cars are delighted to welcome it back.

The beautifully presented history folder is accompanied by all documentation, handbooks, leaflets and brochures as presented when new to Mr Lysaght.  Two sets of keys and remotes are also present.  A perfect entry into affordable classic car ownership with an immaculate surviving model now deserving of an appreciative new owner and Rover aficionado.
