SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

An almost irreplaceable VW Golf GTi 8v 3dr with two owners and 25,272 miles

EQUIPMENT
Twin halogen headlamps, laminated windscreen, red trim stripes on radiator grille, twin exhaust pipes, steel sliding sunroof, black wheel arch extensions, front spoiler, rear window spoiler, bumpers with red trim stripes, twin jet heated windscreen washer nozzles, height adjustable sports seats, folding rear seats, sports steering wheel, multi-function computer, digital clock, interior courtesy light with delay function, digital tune radio with auto reverse cassette, twin tone horn.

EXTERIOR
This beautiful VW Golf GTi is finished in Tornado Red, (Colour Code LY3D), and maintains a deep shine having been garaged all its life.  Front and rear Dealer supplied number plates are still fixed to the car and all the bumpers, rubber side mouldings and body trimmings are perfect and scuff free.  Underside factory markings are visible such as the colour daps on the suspension springs and factory wax remains.  The bonnet has been painted along with the driver’s door and a mark to the sunroof can be seen but these have not hindered the car from collecting trophies such as the one presented at Tatton Park VW Show in 2014.  A rare hot hatch.

INTERIOR
A truly spectacular interior with the sports seats finished in the Grey/Red trim, (Code HZ), with the matching unmarked cloth covered door and side panels.  The bolsters remain perfectly shaped and unworn commensurate with the incredibly low mileage.  The carpets are still protected by the original VW carpet mats.  None of the plastic trim has been damaged and all the controls work as they should including the original Panasonic tape player and Multi-function computer. The supplying dealer tax disc holder remains affixed to the front screen and even the steering wheel and gear knob retain their textured finishes.  The boot carpet looks brand new, all the tools are still present and correct.  Perfectionists will adore the boot factory code sticker and production check sticker still attached.  A remarkable factory fresh cockpit.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This car is in excellent mechanical order and really boasts what GTi ownership should be about, tremendous fun!  The engine produces a 112bhp and 159Nm of Torque and drives perfectly with a distinctive exhaust note which is truly addictive.  A top speed of 119mph and 0-60mph in 8.3 seconds are quoted.  A very clean engine bay with factory wax and an unbroken plastic bulkhead cover will please exhibitors.  The 5 speed sports gearbox is positive and is a joy to use.  This GTi is exactly how the manufacturer intended.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This Golf GTi is fitted with the optional alloy sports wheels which cost the first owner an additional £580.55 when new.  Amazingly still shod in the factory supplied Michelin MXV2 185/60 R14 tyres with ample tread.  Ventilated front disc brakes and rear disc brakes offer plenty of stopping power and pull the car up quickly in a straight line.

HISTORY FILE
This Volkswgen Golf GTi was first registered on the 15th August 1989 by main dealers Links Garage to a Mr W Hird.  His pride and joy and returning to the same dealer for servicing until his driving retirement in 1995.  During this time the car was known by the only other owner and neighbour, Mr S Green.  Mr Green had mentioned on more than one occasion his desire to purchase the car with polite refusal each time.  Unfortunately Mr Hird was prompted into selling in 2010 when burglars tried to access his property via the garage damaging the bonnet to his car in the process.  Mr Green was given permission at this point to buy the car after a strict vetting process!  Used by Mr Green for shows and VW events the car has continued to lead a pampered life.  Evidence of this can be seen by a Tatton Park trophy and VWNW Watercooled Concours Judging Sheet where the car came second in class.

The original VW grey document holder is also with the car that contains all the owners manuals, instructions pamphlets and dealer paraphernalia.  Very special.
