This includes first in class Pride of Ownership at the 2015 Silverstone MGLive!  The paintwork is virtually unmarked with the previous owner even making a cover to protect the front valence on outings.  The engine bay is immaculately finished for bonnet up, crowd pleasing exhibiting and is a further testament to the meticulous build.

INTERIOR
A no-expense-spared mentality has continued throughout the interior with a full and expensive re-trim.  Clean red deep-pile carpeting has been tailor made precisely for this car extending to the spotless boot area and protected by MG rubber mats.  New seats with matching red piping combined with a refurbished crackle dash and black leather Moto-Lita steering wheel offers comfort and practicality unlike the few stripped out originals made in the late 1960’s.  All the controls, gauges and switches operate perfectly and extra period switches for the driving lamps and electric engine fan have been fitted.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

As a recognition to the first GTS racecar debuting with a four cylinder engine this example has, at vast catalogued expense, been fitted in 2013 with a brand new Ivor Searle 2000cc Stage Two performance engine.  With enhancements such as a polished and ported cylinder head, modified valve guides for unleaded fuel and fully balanced crank, conrods, flywheel and clutch one can expect fun reliable performance.  As piece of mind, with yet another substantial invoice, this MGOC recommended engine was fitted by Northampton Motorsport as recently featured on Channel 4’s For the Love of Cars.  A four speed gearbox with working overdrive is smooth, light and progressive with an uprated clutch and associated components.

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Built to the correct offset by measurements given, these bespoke and one-off Compomotive 8X15in alloy wheels fill the arches perfectly and still remain undamaged since fitment.  All shod in Wide Oval Firestone 205/60 R15 tyres with ample tread.  The boot mounted spare is present and in excellent order.  Hydraulic brakes with servo assistance employing slotted/grooved discs upfront with X5 Greenstuff pads and braided hoses.

HISTORY FILE
The certified copy of the factory record provided by the heritage trust reveals this MGB GT was built on the 13th April 1972 and supplied by main agents Kennings Ltd, Shewsbury.  Living an unassuming life before being purchased by motoring fanatic, Mick Harris, who went about striping the car, rebuilding and remodelling with inspiration from the GTS. With only a handful of the original GTS models being built by the BMC Competitions Department for the twelve hour endurance race at Sebring Florida, this car pays homage to that model, but with the creators desire for practical and comfortable use.  Sold subsequently to Alan Dixey who continued to lavish time, care and money on the car with expensive quality upgrades such, as the Ivor Seale Stage Two competition engine, this car is no stranger to the show circuit!  Numerous awards including the MGB Rose Bowl in 2015 and MG Northants Car of the Year Pre 1980 combined with magazine features are sure to please the next lucky custodian.  A neatly presented file with all invoices amounting to thousands will again please the next owner and reassure them completely.

The vehicle has MOT until May 2016 and is HPI clear.
