SORRY NOW SOLD – SIMILAR WANTED

A pristine UK Yamaha RD350LC in showroom display condition.

EQUIPMENT
Quartz-halogen headlamp, monocross suspension, chrome rear grab rail, speedometer, tachometer, temperature gauge, ignition switch incorporating steering lock, turn signal switch, headlight switch, dimmer switch, neutral indicator, oil/brake tail light, high beam light, hi/lo tone horns, rear footrests, fuel valve, helmet holder, lockable fuel cap, circular rear reflector.

EXTERIOR
Finished in black the appearance of this most lusted-after motorcycle of the 1980’s can only be described as immaculate.   The attention to detail is outstanding with every nut and bolt removed, refurbished or replaced and meticulously put back.  The plastics and decals are unmarked and all the switches, lights and controls work perfectly.  The frame and swingarm have been professionally powder coated with rider and pillion foot rubbers having been replaced.  The original seat material has one minute mark but is of a show standard.  Manufacturer stickers remain attached and even the 0-300 mile transparent break-in sticker is on the rev counter.   A beautiful piece of Yamaha history.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
This matching engine and frame numbers motorcycle is fitted with the legendary liquid-cooled 347cc two-stroke twin delivering 47bhp at 8500rpm and 59Nm of torque.  A top speed of 110mph is quoted and the sound through the near impossible correctly stamped 4Lo standard Yamaha exhaust pipes is wonderful.  The engines and crank has been completely rebuilt with Yamaha seals and bearings.  The wet multiplate 6-speed close mesh gearbox is very positive and operates correctly.  (Please note if the motorcycle is to be put to use a running-in period of 300 miles is recommended).

WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The RD350LC is fitted with stylish cast-alloy italic wheels which are powder coated and presented in fabulous undamaged condition.  Bridgestone Battlax 90/90-18 front and 110/80-18 rear tyres are fitted still with new pimples!  Dual 267mm discs with single piston calipers and a drum at the rear perform correctly.

HISTORY FILE
Owned by a Yamaha connoisseur of the highest standing, this motorcycle reflects a no expense spared mentality to the build.  A new owner will be utterly amazed with the precise attention to detail with empty NOS boxes having been kept along with invoices for all the parts used.  A spreadsheet breaking down the source, the price and quantity of every part purchased amounts to £8,116 alone even before accounting for the labour time!  All stages of the meticulous build have been photographed and are included on a memory stick for safekeeping.  Forming part of a jaw dropping Yamaha collection including iconic bikes such as the RD125LC, RD500LC and an RD400E, rarely does such an offering come to market.
